In the evening, both receive an email reminder from the daily survey service asking them to report wether they applied sunscreen or not. After completing the survey, they notice they are the leading buddy pair. Joe moves off campus. His daily bike commute takes 30 minutes each way. Second day of his new routine, he gets sun burned. His roommate points him to habitbuddies. Joe signs up and gets connected with Mary. She experiences the same problem. Today is Monday, the first day of the month long challenge: Joe calls Mary to remind her to wear sunscreen. Tomorrow, Mary will call Joe. Joe and Mary enjoy the spoils of having won this months Habit Challenge. They applied sunscreen most consistently out of all buddy pairs.
