Scale hiring needs with business priorities
Weploy was founded to create an empowered and fearless workforce
Tony Wu - Passion for Ju Jitsu but couldn’t focus as much time due to fear of not having a job
As a recruiter realised helping to continue this cycle
Decided to change the system so you can follow your passion and have a job whenever you wanted
Started Weploy
And by building this pool of talent who share this vision, we are able to offer companies access
This is helping business scale as they can access this talent on-demand and inline with their own priorities and objectives
This is a quote from Klaus Schwab and we’re witnessing this all the time
Technology has enabled disruption at massive scale
It is creating volatile and complex operating environments where to remain competitive you have to be fast, otherwise your entire industry will be re-shaped
Think Uber for taxi industry
Netflix for the DVD rentals
Amazon for retail
These didn’t beat competitors, they completely re-made what the industry was in their image
To compete in this fish eat fish world we’re seeing three main strategies emerge to help them become more agile
Companies are starting to work in projects - taking a leaf out of the software engineering world tso they can fail fast but when they succeed, invest and win
We’re seeing the flattening of hierarchical structures to enable more diverse ideas to emerge
And to support this creativity and innovation companies are assessing the activities for roles to understand which tasks are value adding, and outsourcing those which are not
Yet traditional staffing solutions have been built for the analogue age where speed was ignored, transparency avoided and quality assurance pushed onto the employer
In response to these shifts in how organisations are structuring their work and workforce we see the rise of on-demand staffing solutions
A quarter of Australian employers regularly employ temporary staff with nearly half citing the reason for project work or when extra workload demands
Research by Deloitte estimates that by 2020, 40% of the workforce in Australia will be contract workers
This drive towards flexible working is also coming from the workforce - a 2015 study by Edelman found 57% of of contingent workers say they work this way due to choice and 58% said they wouldn’t go back to traditional work no matter what the money involved
And this is where Weploy comes in
It’s actually quite difficult to define a Weployee, as they are all rounders but we’ve invested heavily in identifying capability
What I mean by this are the skills that are completely transferable, the special sauce if you like
These include:
Learning agility - this is their adaptability in new situations
Attention to detail
Problem solving and critical thinking
Strong emotional intelligence and resilience
And the most important - the ability to get shit done - call it entrepreneurship or drive, this is what sets Weployees apart
We do this through a multi-stage vetting process
And this quality has meant we’re continually expanding our customer base
11% get through onboarding
Quality guarantee
And as we look at the data we see three emerging trends into how companies are using on-demand staffing
First is tactical - your receptionist has called in sick - the demand is immediate and urgent
Often the responsibility would be shared amongst the team which drives down productivity and employee engagement
The second, and most common is operational - This is where companies are forward planning for peak times and extra workload
Examples include holiday cover, new projects that are ramping of for temporary backfills during the recruitment process for a permanent hire.
Sometimes the Weployee can take over the entire role, other times depending on the role they will take over the urgent admin tasks that would otherwise buren their co-workers
Finally we see a strategic use of the platform - this is where they are looking at the right person for the right job
Bringing in teams of Weployees to take over admin for business units or teams so they can spend their time on more value adding activities - often called role atomisation
Another example os to help secondary carers and return to work parents - offering the admin support at a low cost flexible way.
So why choose Weploy?
