According to its preface,
The Divine Principle expresses universal truth;
it inherits and builds upon the core truths which
God revealed through the Jewish and Christian
Scriptures and encompasses the wisdom from the Orient.
Aside from its first chapter, the Principle of Creation,
which is replete with Eastern concepts such as
Yin and Yang, the greater part of the book relies almost
entirely on the Bible.

Yet a close reading shows that the text approaches
the Bible from an Eastern sensibility, informed by such
Confucian concepts as filial piety and the centrality
of the family.
The words "Divine Principle" are a direct translation
of the Korean term wolli, which literally means
"original principle"—'original' in the sense of
God's original plan for creation.
While some Unificationists speak of the "Divine Principles,"
plural forms are not normally used in Korean,
and there is a sense that these principles fit together
into a unitary whole “The Principle”.

Unification Church members sometimes refer to
the Divine Principle (or simply "The Principle")
meaning not only the specific translation of Wolli Kangron,
but an eternal truth already existing in the universe
before the books were written.
Indeed, many believe the Divine Principle's overt attitude
toward the Bible also applies to itself, namely:
"[It; the Bible, the Divine Principle] is not the truth itself,
but rather a textbook teaching the truth.“

The nature of the Korean language.
I don’t speak Korean, but know its syntax is opposite
to the basic order of English.
Syntax governs the way the mind works.
English speakers think in terms of
who did what to whom? What are you saying to me?
For Korean, it’s “What? You don’t understand that?”
In Korean syntax, the verb comes at the end;
there are no prepositions.
Is it one of a kind (“the”), or one of many (“a”)?
It’s not clear!

Singular and plural in Korean are
ambiguous, gender is unclear, verb tense is
ambiguous or unstated, whether a verb is active
or passive is unclear, subject partners go unstated
(the reader is assumed to know without being told)
and, most importantly, subject-object relations are
ambiguous.
Korean is a language that trusts the heart
of the listener to grasp what you mean.

The Principle is extremely comprehensive.
There is nothing that cannot be resolved with the Principle.
It is like an encyclopedia containing everything about the
world.
It is like a formula that is based on the fundamental bond
with heaven.
That is why the Principle can be applied to everything.
It is also consistent with modern philosophy and psychology,
and conforms with all the principles of the natural world.

If we wish to develop a business, there must be unity
among three primary elements; operations, technical
know-how, and management.
This is in accord with the Principle, which states that

How Did Father Discover the Divine Principle?

Father was asked the following question by an aide
close to L. Farrakhan:
"Reverend Moon, did you discover the Divine Principle
all at once, or gradually?"

Father evidently replied: "Initially the Divine Principle was
revealed to me all at once.
However, then it was lost, and I had to rediscover all over
again gradually as I went on“. /end
Comment: The earliest manuscript of the Divine Principle was lost in
North Korea during the Korean War.

During his lifetime, the published sermons of
True Father filled more than 700 thick volumes;
most of them not yet translated from the original
Korean.
If all the books were piled on top of each other,
the collection would form a pile over 18m, (90 ft) high
– a daunting task for even the most devoted scholar
or disciple who would try to read them all.

What do the words

the borderline between the realm of dominion

and the realm of (Gods) direct dominion.

The Unification Principle connects everything

The Principle is not a doctrine.

When I wrote Wolli Wonbon, I wrote it in a condensed
form.
The content of even one page requires dozens of
pages of explanation. An ordinary person is simply not
able to understand it deeply, even after reading and

So far the (original paper) Wolli Wonbon is not available, as it is very old and fragile, and almost nobody
can see or touch it.
Therefore, this file was created based on the transcription by Rev. Kim Won Pil,.
The Wolli Wonbon was written in old Korean used in Northern part of Korea and also with many Chinese
characters are used.
So it will be very difficult to translate and make it understandable.

Wolli Wonbon has great significance in that it was
written in True Fathers own handwriting.
It is the earliest manuscript of the Divine Principle in
existence.
In the early days of the church some of his disciples
transcribed Wolli Wonbon and shared their copies with
others, passing them around.

I wrote a book about the Principle, Wolli Wonbon, at
Beomil-dong in Busan, overlooking the harbor.
I first noted the main points in outline form, and then
started writing.
I wrote the ideas in condensed form, like poetry.
Since I just wrote the essential points, people could not
easily understand it unless I explained the main points
to them.

My first experience with Dr. Young Oon Kim
was through one of her books.
In the early 60's she wrote a book on the Divine Principle,
and I was given that book when I first joined in San Francisco.
It was a little blue book.

Father once taught us what the four most important points of the
Principle are;
- The first point is the true relationship between God and man
- the second point is the relationship between the spiritual world and
the physical world
- the third point is man's portion of responsibility;
- the fourth point is the problem of Cain and Abel.
Without understanding the problem of Cain and Abel, we cannot
understand the problems or the goal of history. And through
understanding all four points, we can connect with God.

True Father told us that the other name for Principle is ’Natural Law’
The Principle is not a religious dogma that has to be taught only within
the Unification Church.

Analogy - The whole Divine Principle in a nutshell:
First picture: We have a glider, not an airplane,
no Boeing, no Cessna, nothing with a motor — just a glider.
Okay?
Good.
This glider needs external help to "soar the skies".
It usually is brought up in the air with the help of an
airplane and a rope, and having reached the acquired
heights, the rope is let loose and the glider moves by
itself .

Second picture: The inevitable happened —
a storm brews up, a storm and heavy rains — forces too
strong to handle for our glider — throw him on the ground,
and there he is — taken out of the sky and smashed to
pieces.
Third picture: By a sheer miracle the pilot isn't dead,
he is badly wounded, immobile, but his sharp ears
mark clearly the sounds of coming salvation:
the approaching helicopter.

Fourth picture: The pilot is whisked off to the nearest
hospital by the helicopter, and we have all kinds of vehicles
— ambulances, 55 police cars, clean-up crews,
they all go to work and the whole place is a big mess.
Fifth picture: The pilot is getting his long-awaited and
rightly deserved vacation on a beautiful South Sea island
— with a deep blue sea and a pristine white beach.

One of the most arresting paranormal experiences
on military record which occurred in Europe at
10:30 P.M on November 14, 1915, was witnessed by

Ohio River at Jeffersonville, Indiana, a
SUPERNATURAL BEING appeared before

A MYSTERIOUS CLOUD
On February 28, 1963, over in Arizona, U.S.A.,
a constellation of seven angels appeared to
Reverend William Marrion Branham in the form
of a ring shaped-Cloud.
These seven angels came from the presence of God
revealing to him the hidden mysteries of the Bible which
were sealed in the Book of Daniel and the
Book of Revelation yet were ordained to be unveiled
at the end time.

A MYSTERIOUS CLOUD
Many pictures were taken of this peculiar Cloud,
some appearing in Life Magazine (May 17, 1963 issue);
some in Science Magazine (April 19,1963 issue),
along with a scientific report of how it was scientifically
impossible for such a cloud to exist.
The highest clouds form at about 10 miles,
but this phenomenal cloud was 26 miles up,
at which altitude water vapor does not exist.

the Lord Jesus Christ as the picture is viewed from
the right side angle

Due to the fall of man, Satan trampled on humankind and is
dominating all over the land.
To reverse this, we must rely upon the principles of
indemnity. Because humankind was trodden on by Satan,
even if Jesus does not help and the Holy Spirit and God do not
help, humankind must subjugate Satan with their own hands.

…after all earthly people are restored, it will take a long time for
the spirit world to be completely restored because there
are so very many spirits who must be restored through the
principle of resurrection through people on earth.

The number of spirits is very great.
And they must go through the resurrection in an indirect way.

Where should we pull the Republic of Korea to? We have to
lead her to the garden of love, not to the garden of power
and not the garden of falsehood. North and South Korea will
be dealt with properly when we lead them to the garden of

common parents, the world of peace will not come about.

The spiritual realm is the archangel realm. The archangel
was supposed to help in Adam's perfection. The original
creation was brought about with the help of the archangel.

He spoke of the original text of Principles.
In Korea, published as our current book, Divine Principle, 1966.

Before that, we had Principle-comments that appeared in 1957.

Even before that, we had a book that Father had written
himself.
This was the original Principle text that he finished
10 May, 1952. Wolli Wonbon, or Original Manuscript

Then the next year, starting in July 1953, he began to

On May 11, 1951. True Father began writing Wolli Wonbon,
Original Text of the Divine Principle.
He completed it on May 10 of the following year.
He wrote so fast that the disciple who was living with him was
constantly sharpening pencils in order to keep pace with him.
While writing the first manuscript of the Principle,
he tearfully sang hymns and prayed.
Sometimes he climbed to a small outcrop on the mountain
behind his cardboard hut to sing and meditate.
Then he returned and devoted all of his heart and soul
to his writing.

The manuscript of Wolli Wonbon consists of five volumes.
Each volume was drilled down with four holes and tied.
The entire manuscript has more than 690 pages.
The text is written with a pencil from left to right in cursive
script, in both Korean and Chinese characters.
The revision work was done using pens with black, blue
and brown ink.
Red-colored pencils were used to lightly underline texts.
Interestingly in 10 pages in the middle (pages 291 to 300)
the text is written in blue ink.

Wolli Wonbon has great significance in that it was
written in True Fathers own handwriting.
It is the earliest manuscript of the Divine Principle in existence.
In the early days of the church some of his disciples
transcribed Wolli Wonbon and shared their copies with other,
passing them around.

I wrote a book about the Principle, WoIli Wonbon,
at Beomil-dong in Busan, overlooking the harbor.
I first noted the main points in outline form, and then
started writing.
I wrote the ideas in condensed form, like poetry.
Since I just wrote the essential points, people could
not easily understand it unless I explained the main
points to them.
This is how I wrote the text, which I completed in May 1952.

I did not discover the Principle only from reading the Bible.
I thought, "If Genesis is the chapter on the Human Fall,
the Book of Revelation is the chapter on Restoration.
Since something went wrong with the tree of life,
it must be restored through the tree of life.
If it doesn't work that way the Bible is misleading."

Anything that comes from a seed returns to a seed.
That is how it ought to happen.
In a similar manner, the sprout from the seed grows
upward and not sideways. It has to be this way.
The Principle that I am teaching today is in accord with
history from the providential viewpoint.
It is based on a deductive method.
Without a doubt. God is alive.

As long as God exists and leads the providence for the Will
centering on love, the world will have to enter the era of
unity based on the cultural sphere of Gods love.
From this perspective, I disclosed why God created heaven
and earth, how the creation of heaven and earth was
carried out, and why God is love.

Whenever you carry the Divine Principle book around with you,
you must treat it with great reverence.
Imagine if you had the only existing copy.
Think about how serious I was to take care of
Wolli Wonbon when I was writing the first manuscript.
What would have happened if that manuscript had been lost,
or I had died?
I am telling you that such seriousness can determine the life
or death of the world.

Centered on the Principle, and with the Principle.
I have come this far.
l laid its foundation with considerable hardships.
I invested my blood, sweat and tears as I was writing
the Divine Principle book.
Please understand that my bloody tears are embedded
in each and every one of its pages, and that those tears
are crying out to you.

I invested my life and sacrificed my youth for the Principle.
That is why I am saying that my blood and tears are pleading
to you from its very pages.
You must never go against the Principle.
Do not ever think the Principle I am teaching you is of no value.
Even God solemnly bows down and honors it.
Such is the value of the Principle.

I wrote It In a compact style.
No one could understand it well, no matter how much they tried.
So I explained it to Eu Hyo-won, and then his mind opened up.
From then on he shed tears on reading each page of the
manuscript, so much so that it became a "manuscript of tears."
He would say, "How on earth could there be such unbelievable
contents!
With this understanding, the fundamental teachings of
Christianity and communism will be completely overshadowed.

I guided and taught Eu Hyo-won in such a way
that he was able to systematize the entire contents
of the book into the form of Expositional of the Divine Principle.

The Divine Principle book is fearsome.
Many people make light of it, saying it is a book written
by President Eu.
If I had written this book, what would happen?
All those who might make light of it would be in trouble.
You could go to the spirit world and see.
Even if some mistakes appear in the book,
you should not be contemptuous of it.
If you do, you will be accused.
You must be aware of why it was written in that way.

The difficulties in completing the Divine Principle book
The Divine Principle will not change even after a thousand years.
If I were required to write it myself, I would write several books
based on knowledge that I alone have, which for others would
be difficult to understand even after thousands of years had
passed.
I would like to leave behind some written works,
investing all my prayer and heart. Why?
I would like to leave behind great descendants whose
sincere hearts permeate their bones.

When I wrote Wolli Wonbon, I sometimes made drastic jumps
in logic and wrote the content in a condensed farm.
Eu Hyo-won was given a copy of the manuscript before
he joined the church.
As he read it, he cried and cried.
I believe that he is the first person in our church's history
who was so moved after reading the Principle that he
immediately wanted to become my disciple.
This happened when he read Wolli Wonbon,
which was even before he ever met me in person.

He wrote a letter to me with the vow,
"Based on the words I read in Wolli Wonbon,
I will become your disciple and serve you for eternity."
Moved by his letter I traveled from Seoul to Yeongdo
Church in Busan and held a 21-day workshop,
in which he participated.
I was told before the workshop that he was anxious,
wondering what it would be like to meet me in person
for the first time.
But when we met, he openly shared with me all of his
past life, which was filled with many serious stories,
some of which I still cannot forget even to this day.

During the workshop In Yeongdo all the participants
had spiritual experiences.
So after the workshop they felt so transformed that
when they returned to the reality of their everyday
lives they marveled.
"I just experienced a completely different world,
which I never imagined could exist!"

For this reason, in Wolli Wonbon, the meaning of
"object partner" or "the value of the object partner" is
presented as an entirely new concept.
Once you give and receive you come to haves reciprocal
relationship.
The more you give and receive with your counterpart,
the better the relationship you will cultivate.
Hence, you will eventually become an object partner with
him or her.
For this reason, if your activity centers on God, goodness
or truth, it will surely last.

Reverend Moon’s first manuscript of the Divine Principle
is titled Wolli Wonbon ( 원리원본 ) or
The Original Text of the Divine Principle. Apr 1951-May 10,1952.
Despite the historical importance of this work, to date it has
not been published, either in Korean or in English.
Difficulties in understanding its condensed and complex thought,
as well as deciphering the script which in some places is
faded and in other places covered with corrections,
has made the publication of Wolli Wonbon a forbidding task.

The Unification Theological Seminary library was able to
obtain a photocopy of the original manuscript,
written in Rev. Moon’s own handwriting and consisting
of some 695 pages.
We also obtained a photocopy of the handwritten copy
made by Won Pil Kim.
Efforts to transcribe and translate these manuscripts began
in 2003 and are ongoing.

It is evident that Wolli Wonbon is not merely an early draft
of Exposition of the Divine Principle but a far greater work.
Much of it is concerned with the Principle of Creation,
or as it phrases it, “the Principle of the Ideal.”
Wolli Wonbon spends nearly 20 pages discussing
universal prime energy, in contrast to Exposition which
devotes only one paragraph to its description and less
than a page to explaining its action.

Another topic elucidated in great detail is the
Principle of the Object Partner, which Exposition condenses
into one short paragraph about the Three Object Purpose.
Then there are scientific topics, including evolution, gravitation,
electricity, and magnetism.
Also, there is considerable emphasis on the genders
within God and God’s position as Heavenly Parent —
Heavenly Mother as well as Heavenly Father.

I have stressed many times what I call "Internal Principle." What
is external and what is internal? I will give one example. In
explaining the fall, we can say simply that when the archangel
seduced Eve. they engaged in the spiritual fall. This is the

You must let them know that the center of this truth is Master.

Spirit world is watching you. If you stand still, you will see
the phenomena resulting from that.
When it comes to the real core of your life of faith,
you have to find your own way of religion.
It is not just a blanket term "Unification faith."
Within that faith, you have to find your own way of
strengthening yourself, your own world of faith.
If Midori-san here reads the Divine Principle 1,000 times,
her spiritual level will shoot up like a rocket and she will
experience many different levels of spiritual life and

Exposition of Divine Principle is not all I have to say.
Before I would be able to say more,
first you would need to know what I have said and
where I said it, and
put it into practise,
but you are not even doing that.
Exposition of Divine Principle does not speak of me.
What Exposition of Divine Principle explains is
only things up until Jesus.
It focuses on Jesus.

And yet you think that the only thing you need to place
importance on is Exposition of Divine Principle.
With all their hearts, members of the Unification Chirch should
follow what I say, empathize with me, and be so moved by my
life that they fulfill their responsibility as the standard-
bearers who create tomorrows history.
If you lack such a heart, you will not develop.

When I finish making the highway straight you can go
as fast as you want to if you are grafted to me.
The road of indemnity to escape hell will become
a super highway.
God took 6,000 biblical years to restore Adam and Eve,
but in physical terms it totals tens of thousands of years.
The restoration of just two individuals was that difficult,
so how much more difficult would it be to restore a family?
In the Unification Church family I must harmonize
all five races and make them into one race.

If I couldn't accomplish that then the blessing would be
only a dream, but after doing the necessary things

To achieve this under the fierce opposition of the satanic
world is not anything less than leaping to the moon,
or even the sun, and coming back again.
It can only be compared to going that distance.
If you were to try to do it all by yourself, it would take you
many millions of years and without knowing these rules
and laws I am applying now you still could not do it.
How grateful you must be that it is now possible.
