2. The ominous power of Dhristi can be subtle or
immense depending upon the depth of negative
emotions. Stronger the emotions greater will be
the energy released. This energy can work at the
A) Material level :
An evil-eye on other's possessions like wealth,
property, and other accessories which
consequently deplete the victims of their
resources.
B) Physical and the psychological level :

health, or happiness and peace of mind is lost.
These are some of the nasty effects of Dhristi.

manifestations of Dhristi.
3. •Drishti occurs when someone looks at you with a jealous,
evil and astonishing mind.
Someone who cannot possess or achieve a thing which
you have reached.
Someone says pumpkin, bloody sacrifice and all for drishti
removal.
But in my experience Lord Narasimha photo in your
house entrance and workplace will nullify all evil results.
It’s not because Narasimha has horrifying look I am telling
this.
Generally, Vishnu's Narasimha Avatar is to give swift
removal of miseries esp. due to enemies, demoniac men
and horoscope planets.
It is said when one loudly chants "Jai Narasimha" even
the Sani planet would fly away and cannot do any harm.
4. DHRISTI PARIHAARAM
1. Dhrishti Parihaaram is a measure to ward off the evil,
cast by an evil eye. The remedy also depends upon the
source from which the negative energy has been
produced whether it is a product of witchcraft or black
magic.
2. Traditional methods of Pariharam
Material level: Some fruits like lemon, watermelon and
coconut have the capacity to absorb negative energy.
For eg. A new automobile is run over lemons before it
starts its journey. Watermelons are hung at the gates
of houses and babies are smeared with collyrium on
the forehead and the cheek to ward off evil.
Physical level: Burning camphor, when brought near any
person burns out all the negativity around the person.
It is necessary that the mind get tuned (in order to
absorb the negative energy) to these media (lemons
coconuts, collyrium) of Dhristi Parihaaram so that they
serve the desired purpose.
5. SOME MORE TECHNIQUES OF DRISHTI PARIHARAM:
There are various ways to cast away drishti. You can
use lemon, water melon, coconut, crystal salt, pepper
seeds, red chilies and camphor.
The camphor method is the more common method. They
light the camphor in a plate and do the rotations
process about the person or family. When the lighted
camphor is rotated, it is believed to attract to the fire the
negative energy that’s present in our four layers of aura,
as fire is considered as the cleansing energy. This can be
done on Thursdays, Sunday, on Pournami and
Amavasya day.
Regularly performing this can help the person to cast
away his/her negative energy, which could not only be
the cause of others evil thoughts but one’s own train of
negative thoughts.
6. The mixture of crystal salt, pepper seeds and red chili is taken in
one’s hand, one who is to perform the drishti sutthal and rotated
clockwise and anti clockwise before the person for whom drishti
is to be removed and he/she is asked to spit in the mixture which
is then thrown into the fire.
When it emits sound and foul odor the person is believed to be
relieved of the evil sight.
Lemon is used for the materials that we buy, that is when we buy
a new vehicle we run over the lemon by our vehicle
Water melon is used on a new moon day.
A small portion is cut and some coins and sindhur is applied
inside and closed again. Then the camphor is placed over the
melon and lighted.
This is rotated around a person or the whole family, clock wise
and anticlockwise for about 3 or 21 times.
This is believed to remove negative energy that fills our physical
aura. Also coconut is used in the same way.
7. The word 'dhristi' (Evil Eye) traces its origin from Sanskrit and
its literal meaning is 'sight' In modern linguistics its usage
signifies 'evil eye' or rather 'casting an evil-eye' Dhristi is not a
concept borrowed from superstitions. Science explains it as
the flow of negativity that affects the person or object towards
which it is directed.
Origin of negativity/ negative energy Every thought form is
associated with energy, just as blessings and good thoughts
have a positive aura about them, so also negative emotions
harness harmful or negative energy. Sources of these negative
energies are, people who give way to: Jealousy Sense of
discrimination/comparison: the feeling that other people are
better than you, thereby leading to frustrations. Spirit of
vengeance/retaliation: people who curse spitefully seeing the
prosperity of their rivals. These emotions may not manifest or
surface out but their presence even at the subconscious level
can be destructive.
8. Drishti results in: 1. Uneasiness 2. Lack of interest 3. Sudden
illness 4. Prolonged illness (without any reason).
The Vedic perspective The vedas has described four kinds of
people 1. The Satpurushas: who help others without caring for
their own well-being 2. The Samanyas: they help considering the
position of the self 3. Manushya Rakshasas: who extract benefits
by disturbing others welfare 4. People who harm others without
any purpose According to the vedas, people who belong to the last
two categories (described above) are most likely to cast an evil eye.

bread (roti) is used for the purpose. At times these chillies are also hung on
the front door to shield the house from the evil eye. To protect their homes
from the eye, women often draw mystical designs on the threshold. Black
mud pots with fierce faces drawn on them are also hung on the door of It is
believed that if the malefic effect of the first look is neutralized, subsequent
