3. DEFINITION:
•Child labor is generally speaking, work for children that harms
them or exploits them in someway (mentally, physically or
access to education.
4. ACCORDING TO UNICEF:
United Nations International Children`s Emergency
Fund(UNICEF) defines Child Labor As :
•Child labor is some type of work performed by children below age
“18”.
•Children working before they reached the lawful minimum age for
employment in the country .

6. OVER POPULATION:
• Due to limited resources and more mouths to feed,
Children are employed in various forms of work.
• Most of the Asian and African countries are overpopulated.
7. PARENT ILLITERATE:
• Lower class people are mostly illiterate, so it is difficult for
uneducated parents to understand the importance of education for
their children.
• Literacy rate of Pakistan is : Male: 68.6% Female: 40.3%
8. POVERTY:
• Many a time poverty forces parents to send their children to
hazardous jobs. Although they know it is wrong; they have no other
alternative as they need the money.

10. MENTAL EFFECT
•In one engine repair factory the lead levels were so
above the safety limits, that red cells were mutated.
11. PHYSICAL EFFECT
• In the automobile industry it’s an unsafe
• Some chemicals have messed up their growth
•In manufacturing units children suffered from skin rashes

•Adult Unemployment Increases
•Illegal Acts
•Illiteracy Rate Increase
•Wasted Human Talent

17. • As per All Pakistan Labor Survey in 2011 there were 21 million
children forced to work.
•The ILO estimates in a 2012 survey that 12.5 million children in
Pakistan are involved in child labor.
•According to the global slavery index 2013, Pakistan comes third, in
the prevalence of child labor.
18. WORLD DAYAGAINST CHILD LABOR
•On 12 June, people around the world join hands to mark the
world day against child labor to raise awareness and contribute
to ending child labor .

20. LABOR LAWS IN PAKISTAN (THE 1973 CONSTITUTION)
•ARTICLE 11(3):
No child below the age of 14 years shall be engaged
in any factory or mine or any other Hazardous employment.
•ARTICLE 18 :
Protects the rights of its citizens to enter upon any
lawful profession or occupation.

Make Monthly Donations To Organization Like UNICEF
Awareness Must Be Raised And The Attention Of Parents Should Be
Education Of Their Children
Boycott Companies That Promote Child Labor.

Give Out Punishment To Employers Hiring Children.
Child Labour Laws Should Be Strictly Put Into Practice.
Government Should Establish Proper Laws

•That issue shouldn`t be neglected and ignored.
•Child labor is curse to our society as well as our
economy.
•Important steps should be taken to prevent and stop
child labour.
