And it’s not just an architecture that needs to be revisited. Because these workers will likely have multiple jobs, and may float in and out of your organizations, what we call the staff management lifecycle must be considered for each job, and in fact, sometimes even each shift.
We already carry our personal lives in our hands and our pockets. So of course people want to manage their work lives through the same device.
At one point, having two phones was a kind of status symbol. But the two phone status symbol is disappearing and is fast becoming a social embarrassment Nowadays, you’re more likely to be mocked for second phones than queried. But for dynamic workers, who rarely sit behind the same desk or behind a desk at all, their phone is their lifeline in even more ways. And it’s a two-way device. Getting the information to/fro is crucial.
