Persuasive Essay On Stress And Anxiety
As the school year winds down, as college decisions, scholarship deadlines, and finals approach,
this can be one of the worst seasons for stress and anxiety. When we were on the phone last week
discussing college plans, I recall you saying that you had a hectic schedule and have been stressed
out and anxious lately, and were struggling to find some way to relax that was still productive and
fulfilling. With such a busy schedule, I also understand that it can be challenging to find time to
dedicate to a hobby. As your cousin, I would like to propose that you take up a creative hobby of
some sort, which doesn't have to occupy much time and can be incredibly gratifying.
Anxiety and stress are massive issues for today's teenagers and can be potentially...show more

According to Jacque Wilson's article "This is your brain on crafting," Sarah Huerta, who after her
brother's sudden death, couldn't even leave her house without suffering a panic attack. Her husband
gave her knitting needles, and soon, the hours began to melt away for Huerta, who found that
knitting keep her mind busy and prevented her from thinking about the future. In the same article, it
was also mentioned that creative activities such as painting, sewing, photography, and even cake
decorating influence the brain in a way similar to meditation, acting as a natural anti–depressant and
stress reliever (Wilson). I can also relate to the benefit from having a creative hobby. For the
longest time, I didn't have a hobby that I felt was creative and relaxing, however, at the beginning
of the school year, I began taking a photography course. While I am taking photos, I have noticed
that I do not feel the same pressures or stress I would be feeling if I were say, sitting at home
watching television. As your cousin, I know you often feel frustrated not having anything to do that
seems fulfilling and constructive, and a creative hobby could be the thing that is

Persuasive Essay On STEM Education
Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start
preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them.
This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in
middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with
extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression,
problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn
how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is
clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression.
There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact
the world every day. According to former PresidentBarack Obama "[Science] is more than a school
subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical
way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that
world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking
about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of
school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been
other fields in history that became very popular but

Effective and Fun Means of Learning: Field Trips!
Sometimes a classroom can't teach everything. To change things up, day trips allow for a diverse
learning experience for students. School field trips are an effective means of fun, interactive
learning; the MET museum as well as the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey are two ideal trips to
plan following Pascack Hills High School's tenth grade English curriculum and reading of
Shakespeare's Macbeth. Field trips are a refreshing and potent change of pace from an enclosed
school environment. These day–long excursions are capable of enhancing interactive means of
learning; they "add new dimensions to education through "teachable moments" that seldom occur in
the classroom" according to...show more content...
Having a trip focus on a specific subject/unit only adds to a students focus and ability to properly
retain organized, clear information. Planning these fixed field trips will engage students by peaking
their own interests and thus providing a more productive learning experience.
Amongst many locations for a field trip, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most ideal to
visit. This museum, is located in New York Cityroughly 40 minutes from Pascack Hills High
School. Ms. Donahue, an English teacher at the school, has three small classes with about 15
students per class; this trip would accommodate for these students with an addition one to two
teachers. Those attending would be expected to be at the school ready to depart by 8:10 in the
morning. After arriving and checking in (all students must pay $20 in the form of a permission
slip to their teachers prior to the trip), students are free to wander the museum by themselves.
Around 12, students will be advised to meet at the building's cafeteria for lunch, though they may
eat at any time. Bagged lunches will not be an option and all attendees must bring at least $20 for
lunch; they may also bring additional money for the gift shop if desired. By 1:15, all students and
teachers will meet in a planned location and be prepared to go back to the school. With any extra time

Persuasive Essay On The Education System
Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get
a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what
turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But
that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore,
students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every
educational institution.
Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it
puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of
schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to
succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well
educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to
educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the
current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement
through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and
standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also
be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning.

Persuasive Essay On Education Reform
Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their
purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say
what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge
students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many
cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released"
(Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered.
Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the
Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell
teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms
also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people
believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others
believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational
reforms are yet to be perfected.
One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the
country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states
should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are

Persuasive Essay About Education
Education is something that most can receive for free at a young age, but once students graduate
from high school, free education is no longer provided to those who desire and need it, yet more
employers are looking for those with college education, and even worse, college is more expensive
than ever. This year, "only 34% of American jobs require ahigh school diploma or less, compared to
72% in the 1970s." (Carnevale & Smith, 2017) Education is a right that everyone should have, and it
is that way until after high school, when it matters the most. Education also supports the growth of
civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing people to learn about their rights and
acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. However, these things along with other
important information that comes into adulthood such as taxes are not even being taught in the
curriculum of high schools and therefore not preparing the students for some of the most challenging
yet ordinary tasks they will have to deal with in their adult lives. Instead, they must either learn these
skills themselves, from someone they know, or be among the few who are fortunate enough to get a
class with a teacher kind enough to teach them. The American education system is failing in
numerous areas, causing us to fall behind other countries, and further delaying the advancement of
our society.
Education should assist in giving people the skills they will need in life earlier to help them from

Persuasive Essay On Four Day School Week
How would it sound if school weeks were only four days long and, in doing that, it saved your
school money at the same time? Well, for some rural schools across the nation, this has become a
reality. Four day school weeks are becoming a necessity for some rural school districts that lack
funding. It provides a realistic way for schools to remain open and also has added benefits beyond
saving money. Four day school weeks may not be a realistic situation for all schools throughout the
nation, but for those that it is possible, the four day school week saves money, improves test
scores, and further improves the school as a whole. If there is ever a smart way for a school district
to save money, school boards will always lend an ear to the...show more content...
This eventually leads to better standardized testing scores district wide. Merryville High School in
Louisiana, "has seen average ACT scores school wide rise from 18.7 to 20 in just four years of
having the four day schedule. Honor roll students in middle and high school have also doubled"
(Chmelynski). Also, according to the table on page 82 of Yarbrough's article, test scores on the
CTBS improved after moving to the four day school week in both the 3rd and 9th grade levels
that were tested (see last page of paper). These improvements do not just happen over a long
period of time, school districts have seen immediate improvement in scores. "Webster County
School district ranked 115th in Kentucky's state test scores. The year after moving to a four day
week, they improved to 61st" (Weldon 32). Not only are schools seeing improvement in test scores,
but they are also seeing overall improvement in all aspects of their district. The overall logistics run
much smoother in schools that have four day weeks compared to the five day week. "Some districts
had experienced a decline in dropout rates, decreased disciplinary referrals, improved attendance,
fewer class interruptions, more positive attitudes about school, and better staff development"
(Yarbrough and Gilman 81). Another logistical benefit to having four day school week is that
students have more time to get involved in extracurricular activities due to more availability

Persuasive Essay On Charter Schools
Open to all children, free of tuition, and does not have special entrance requirements, charter schools
believe that children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level. When creating charter
schools, they focused on a desire to create greater flexibility for innovation within public education.
It was hoped that successful innovations could be adapted to benefit public education more broadly.
(NEA, 2017). Charter schools also, foster partnership between parents, teachers, and students in
hopes of creating an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are allowed to
innovate, and students are provided with structure they need to learn.
Unlike public schools, charter schools believe that smaller class sizes are important to student
learning. According to Homeschooling "Pros and Cons of Charter Schools" article, "Rather than
having a student attend a public school where students will be one among thirty to thirty–five other
pupils, charter school students will be one of twelve, sometimes fifteen other students" (2017). In a
classroom with many students, a teacher may not have the ability to spend sufficient quality time
one–on–one with every student . This may result in teachers having more of a challenge in
motivating each student and encouraging students individually. The teacher may not have the time
to recognize each student's particular challenges, passions, and talents (Homeschooling, 2017 ). In
addition, according to EF Academy's "10

Stay in School, Persuasive Essay
To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a
good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary
school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is
everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first
20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science,
but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you
meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. A lot of

To become trustworthy, you have to work your way up to become trusted by your classmates and
/or close friends. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy.
But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can
tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs
require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing
money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able
to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible
character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important
because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It
will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't
get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the
choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you
are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college.
For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the
medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology

Persuasive Essay On After School Programs
After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs
help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are
organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling
children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would
not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs
provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their
future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based
nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on
weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of
the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities.
Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of
academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and
children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When
after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and
skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take

Persuasive Essay About School Change
School! How do you see the school? How do other people see the school? Should school still exist
or continue? Should they radically change? Should teachers get paid more? Should they teach
more? Make it easier to go to college? What do you think your school should change? What should
they add or take away? There are so many questions. There's a lot of opinions and disagreements.
What do I think about school? Some people say we shouldn't have school. Hi I'm a fellow student,
that's in the 9th grade and these are my opinion about school. In my opinion, school is preparing
us for jobs and more. We are in school for a good 8 hours, most likely we be working 8 hours or
more doing jobs. People think they can learn on their own. So you telling me you can learn other
languages, chemistry/biology, mathematics, and etc. I think not! School helps us out a lot if you
really look at it. By teaching us step by step. Focusing on our main problem. School is starting a
radical change. As the years go by schools are changing (radically). I honestly like looking through
the books instead of looking online. Reading and writing is the right way, the old fashion way.
Don't get me wrong online is a good use too. I would like to stay between really. Read and write, I
feel like I learn a lot better that way and memorized it a lot more. Online is a good way of
visualizing it. Teacher should get paid more. You would disagree with this, but do you know why?
Teachers goes through a lot with students, parents, and even other teachers. I can just look into a
teacher's eye and tell their tired of it or stressed out. Students are a pain in the butt. Some students
are difficult to handle. Let's take a minute, let's say this teacher has 7 different classes a day. Let's
say the largest is 15–27 students. The teacher has a bad and good students. The bad students have
been acting up lately and their influence the good students to act a fool. Now the class is a racket.
Just imagine you going through that every day. That's's stressful and tiring. You may say principal
or call their parents. Come on now that don't always work. You never know how the parents going
to act or say back in response. Teachers should get paid way more than what they make

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children

Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.

My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

School has always been a safe haven for children to learn and grow, not only as students, but as
individuals as well. However, as we grow older, school becomes more of a tedious task, rather
than a fun place to go to. From standardized tests, to finals and midterms, school weighs down on
us as a heavy burden. It has been under heavy debate on whether or not the school day is long
enough. Generally starting at 8 A.M. , and finishing around 3 P.M. , the school day lasts around
seven hours, for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Many people believe that the day needs to
be longer in order to fit in all of the material students need to learn. However, would making the
day longer really benefit anyone? With a longer school day, students would be getting less sleep
than they already do and the time being added would not be used in beneficial ways. A longer
school day is not only a bad idea, but is detrimental to the health and learning of students. To begin,
one of the main reasons that the school day should not be extended, is based on the fact that
students will not be getting enough sleep. Mary Carskadon, a professor of psychiatry and human
behavior at Brown University, wrote in her article "Let Students Sleep" that "many adolescents are
already in trouble because they get too little sleep." With a seven hour school day alone, students are
already struggling to get to bed at a reasonable hour, due to sports, extracurriculars, homework, and
day–to–day activities. Carskadon notes that good sleep "enhances" and "amplifies" what is learned
the day before. Students running on less hours of sleep not only perform badly in school, but tend to
forget or struggle to recall what they've learned. To make the school day longer, it would either have
to start earlier, forcing students to wake up earlier, or finish later, pushing extracurriculars and
homework later into the night. Students running on less sleep struggle to recall what they learned
and stay awake in school; thus, with a longer school day, students will be spending time trying to not
fall asleep rather than learning new, important material. As one can clearly tell, extending the school
day will be detrimental to the health of students. Continuing on, many

Later School Start Times: It's Time for a Change
You are getting ready for work when you notice the strangely quiet house. You wonder what is
wrong, and then it hits you: your teenager is not up yet. You storm into their room, shaking them
awake and yet the only response you get is a groan and a "just five more minutes" and a "leave
me alone." You notice homework and projects throw in a pile on the floor, evidence of the late
night. But yet your teenager is not doing too well in some of their classes, which is confusing. The
clock reads 7:27, meaning your son or daughter will be late for school if they do not get up now.
After another attempt and another "leave me alone," you leave, flipping the light on as motivation to
get up. Parents all over the country are dealing with the same issue with their middle or high school
students. Students in grades six through twelve need later school start times due to the change that
occurs in their biology during puberty and the academic and health benefits that can come with
delayed times.
Quite a few people believe that teenagers should just go to bed earlier and think that will solve the
whole problem. But what most people don't realize is during the onset of puberty, "most
adolescents undergo a sleep phase delay," meaning an adolescent will most likely fall asleep and
wake up at a later time (Backgrounder). A teenager will naturally fall asleep around 11 pm or at a

Persuasive Essay Questions In School
It doesn't matter if we are ready to answer the questions our young ladies have, they will keep
coming. Relying on schools to teach our children everything they need to know about their
bodies, peer pressure, bullying, and sex is just not realistic. While some things may be discussed
in school, not everything is. Furthermore, children are typically uncomfortable when it comes to
asking personal questions in front of their peers. Gossip and rumors will be the biggest enemy
you will battle during the school years. There is no secret way to stop this from occurring, and
often girls are much meaner than boys when it comes to "flaws". Aside from classmates'
developments, advertisements everywhere will have our children questioning what is happening,
or perhaps not happening, to their bodies. It is your job as the caregiver to help sort out all these
confusing matters. The beginning of puberty in females can start as early as eight years old. Yes,
you read that correct, eight years old. Parents are allowing their daughters to wear training bras this

Why should students go to school?
There are several reasons why kids need to go to school but to me, the top three reasons are

a certain age, and it will help you learn social skills and help you be comfortable to talking to
people. Although students may not like going to school, it benefits them in the long run. It is
important for students to go to school to get an education. Even though some students may not like

If you ever went into a business where you had to do a presentation on a piece of work you've
been working on or if you came up with a new idea that you thought could help your business, you
would most likely have to present the information in front of your boss and coworkers. Having
social skills could play a big role in your presentation because if you was not comfortable talking
in front of a crowd, then you could either: freeze up while talking, talk too fast cause you're so
nervous and want to get the presentation over with, your face could turn red, etc. But, if you had
social skills and were use to talking in front of a group of people then you will be comfortable
presenting your project with no worries. Also by socializing students can make friends. By
making friends school could also be more enjoyable. You will have friends to eat lunch with;
friends to hang out with on the weekends and you will have friends in your classes so they will
be less boring. If you went to a school where you didn't have any friends or where you didn't like
anyone, then you will not enjoy the activities you may do in class and you may want to change
schools to find kids that you do like and will enjoy being around. By having social skills it will help
you talk to people and make friends.
Students may not like going to school but, it is for the best. By going to school students can get an

Essay on School Safety: Protecting the Students
School Safety: Protecting the Students
For many students a positive academic environment is increasingly harder to obtain. This is mainly
due to their lack of safety. Whether it be inside the classroom or out.
Unfavorable situations at home, psychological stability, physical dangers and violence all contribute
to this evident shortage. There have been investigations on how organizations, teachers and parents
collaborate together in today's society to influence the students understanding of safety in school.
The purpose of this paper is to display some examples of each aforementioned contribution and show
some of the current measures being taken to aid today's students.
Developments within the past decade have opened up new ways...show more content...
And with not caring about safety, leads to not caring of academics. As stated in the NEA article,
This positive academic environment begins with safe families and safe communities, statistically,
schools continue to be one of the most secure places for our children. When that is taken away
from a student, they have no drive anymore to follow through with their education. A lot of the
time weaponry is involved. Children find guns in parent's drawers, or just while they are playing at
their friend's house. Older brothers and sisters who might be involved in gangs might have weapons
lying around or even feel its cool to show off to their younger siblings and their friends.
However, some of the worst violence is not weaponry. It is the harassment from student to student.
Psychological stability is a big issue today when it comes to safety. Peer pressure has left children
feeling the need to concentrate more on the popular things to do, then what is best for the student; an
education. In fact, Hazler, Hoover, and Oliver (1996) reported that three–fourths of the school
students they surveyed indicated that they experienced harassment and bullying to such an extent
that they suffered academic, personal, and social difficulties (Hernandez). Bullying can impact a
child when it comes to learning. Having someone of the same age, belittle, embarrass, and put a
child down, most of the time leads the child to

Persuasive Essay About 6th Grade
In 6th grade so far it is awesome. In 6th grade we can have our phones out at lunch in the morning
when the school bell didn't ring yet and after school when the bell rings. And so far I been keeping
track of my hills bills cause now when it is starting to be the end of the school year there is a lot of

Good Persuasive Essay Topics For Middle School

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Stress And Anxiety As the school year winds down, as college decisions, scholarship deadlines, and finals approach, this can be one of the worst seasons for stress and anxiety. When we were on the phone last week discussing college plans, I recall you saying that you had a hectic schedule and have been stressed out and anxious lately, and were struggling to find some way to relax that was still productive and fulfilling. With such a busy schedule, I also understand that it can be challenging to find time to dedicate to a hobby. As your cousin, I would like to propose that you take up a creative hobby of some sort, which doesn't have to occupy much time and can be incredibly gratifying. Anxiety and stress are massive issues for today's teenagers and can be potentially...show more content... According to Jacque Wilson's article "This is your brain on crafting," Sarah Huerta, who after her brother's sudden death, couldn't even leave her house without suffering a panic attack. Her husband gave her knitting needles, and soon, the hours began to melt away for Huerta, who found that knitting keep her mind busy and prevented her from thinking about the future. In the same article, it was also mentioned that creative activities such as painting, sewing, photography, and even cake decorating influence the brain in a way similar to meditation, acting as a natural anti–depressant and stress reliever (Wilson). I can also relate to the benefit from having a creative hobby. For the longest time, I didn't have a hobby that I felt was creative and relaxing, however, at the beginning of the school year, I began taking a photography course. While I am taking photos, I have noticed that I do not feel the same pressures or stress I would be feeling if I were say, sitting at home watching television. As your cousin, I know you often feel frustrated not having anything to do that seems fulfilling and constructive, and a creative hobby could be the thing that is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On STEM Education Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them. This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression, problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression. There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact the world every day. According to former PresidentBarack Obama "[Science] is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been other fields in history that became very popular but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay About School Trip Effective and Fun Means of Learning: Field Trips! Sometimes a classroom can't teach everything. To change things up, day trips allow for a diverse learning experience for students. School field trips are an effective means of fun, interactive learning; the MET museum as well as the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey are two ideal trips to plan following Pascack Hills High School's tenth grade English curriculum and reading of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Field trips are a refreshing and potent change of pace from an enclosed school environment. These day–long excursions are capable of enhancing interactive means of learning; they "add new dimensions to education through "teachable moments" that seldom occur in the classroom" according to...show more content... Having a trip focus on a specific subject/unit only adds to a students focus and ability to properly retain organized, clear information. Planning these fixed field trips will engage students by peaking their own interests and thus providing a more productive learning experience. Amongst many locations for a field trip, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most ideal to visit. This museum, is located in New York Cityroughly 40 minutes from Pascack Hills High School. Ms. Donahue, an English teacher at the school, has three small classes with about 15 students per class; this trip would accommodate for these students with an addition one to two teachers. Those attending would be expected to be at the school ready to depart by 8:10 in the morning. After arriving and checking in (all students must pay $20 in the form of a permission slip to their teachers prior to the trip), students are free to wander the museum by themselves. Around 12, students will be advised to meet at the building's cafeteria for lunch, though they may eat at any time. Bagged lunches will not be an option and all attendees must bring at least $20 for lunch; they may also bring additional money for the gift shop if desired. By 1:15, all students and teachers will meet in a planned location and be prepared to go back to the school. With any extra time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On The Education System Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore, students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every educational institution. Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning. • 5. Persuasive Essay On Education Reform Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released" (Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered. Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational reforms are yet to be perfected. One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay About Education Education is something that most can receive for free at a young age, but once students graduate from high school, free education is no longer provided to those who desire and need it, yet more employers are looking for those with college education, and even worse, college is more expensive than ever. This year, "only 34% of American jobs require ahigh school diploma or less, compared to 72% in the 1970s." (Carnevale & Smith, 2017) Education is a right that everyone should have, and it is that way until after high school, when it matters the most. Education also supports the growth of civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing people to learn about their rights and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. However, these things along with other important information that comes into adulthood such as taxes are not even being taught in the curriculum of high schools and therefore not preparing the students for some of the most challenging yet ordinary tasks they will have to deal with in their adult lives. Instead, they must either learn these skills themselves, from someone they know, or be among the few who are fortunate enough to get a class with a teacher kind enough to teach them. The American education system is failing in numerous areas, causing us to fall behind other countries, and further delaying the advancement of our society. Education should assist in giving people the skills they will need in life earlier to help them from Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 8. Persuasive Essay On Four Day School Week How would it sound if school weeks were only four days long and, in doing that, it saved your school money at the same time? Well, for some rural schools across the nation, this has become a reality. Four day school weeks are becoming a necessity for some rural school districts that lack funding. It provides a realistic way for schools to remain open and also has added benefits beyond saving money. Four day school weeks may not be a realistic situation for all schools throughout the nation, but for those that it is possible, the four day school week saves money, improves test scores, and further improves the school as a whole. If there is ever a smart way for a school district to save money, school boards will always lend an ear to the...show more content... This eventually leads to better standardized testing scores district wide. Merryville High School in Louisiana, "has seen average ACT scores school wide rise from 18.7 to 20 in just four years of having the four day schedule. Honor roll students in middle and high school have also doubled" (Chmelynski). Also, according to the table on page 82 of Yarbrough's article, test scores on the CTBS improved after moving to the four day school week in both the 3rd and 9th grade levels that were tested (see last page of paper). These improvements do not just happen over a long period of time, school districts have seen immediate improvement in scores. "Webster County School district ranked 115th in Kentucky's state test scores. The year after moving to a four day week, they improved to 61st" (Weldon 32). Not only are schools seeing improvement in test scores, but they are also seeing overall improvement in all aspects of their district. The overall logistics run much smoother in schools that have four day weeks compared to the five day week. "Some districts had experienced a decline in dropout rates, decreased disciplinary referrals, improved attendance, fewer class interruptions, more positive attitudes about school, and better staff development" (Yarbrough and Gilman 81). Another logistical benefit to having four day school week is that students have more time to get involved in extracurricular activities due to more availability Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Charter Schools Open to all children, free of tuition, and does not have special entrance requirements, charter schools believe that children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level. When creating charter schools, they focused on a desire to create greater flexibility for innovation within public education. It was hoped that successful innovations could be adapted to benefit public education more broadly. (NEA, 2017). Charter schools also, foster partnership between parents, teachers, and students in hopes of creating an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are allowed to innovate, and students are provided with structure they need to learn. Unlike public schools, charter schools believe that smaller class sizes are important to student learning. According to Homeschooling "Pros and Cons of Charter Schools" article, "Rather than having a student attend a public school where students will be one among thirty to thirty–five other pupils, charter school students will be one of twelve, sometimes fifteen other students" (2017). In a classroom with many students, a teacher may not have the ability to spend sufficient quality time one–on–one with every student . This may result in teachers having more of a challenge in motivating each student and encouraging students individually. The teacher may not have the time to recognize each student's particular challenges, passions, and talents (Homeschooling, 2017 ). In addition, according to EF Academy's "10 Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Stay in School, Persuasive Essay To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first 20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science, but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. A lot of jobs in today's society require you to talk to...show more content... To become trustworthy, you have to work your way up to become trusted by your classmates and /or close friends. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy. But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college. For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology but you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On After School Programs After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities. Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take care of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay About School Change School! How do you see the school? How do other people see the school? Should school still exist or continue? Should they radically change? Should teachers get paid more? Should they teach more? Make it easier to go to college? What do you think your school should change? What should they add or take away? There are so many questions. There's a lot of opinions and disagreements. What do I think about school? Some people say we shouldn't have school. Hi I'm a fellow student, that's in the 9th grade and these are my opinion about school. In my opinion, school is preparing us for jobs and more. We are in school for a good 8 hours, most likely we be working 8 hours or more doing jobs. People think they can learn on their own. So you telling me you can learn other languages, chemistry/biology, mathematics, and etc. I think not! School helps us out a lot if you really look at it. By teaching us step by step. Focusing on our main problem. School is starting a radical change. As the years go by schools are changing (radically). I honestly like looking through the books instead of looking online. Reading and writing is the right way, the old fashion way. Don't get me wrong online is a good use too. I would like to stay between really. Read and write, I feel like I learn a lot better that way and memorized it a lot more. Online is a good way of visualizing it. Teacher should get paid more. You would disagree with this, but do you know why? Teachers goes through a lot with students, parents, and even other teachers. I can just look into a teacher's eye and tell their tired of it or stressed out. Students are a pain in the butt. Some students are difficult to handle. Let's take a minute, let's say this teacher has 7 different classes a day. Let's say the largest is 15–27 students. The teacher has a bad and good students. The bad students have been acting up lately and their influence the good students to act a fool. Now the class is a racket. Just imagine you going through that every day. That's's stressful and tiring. You may say principal or call their parents. Come on now that don't always work. You never know how the parents going to act or say back in response. Teachers should get paid way more than what they make Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. • 15. School has always been a safe haven for children to learn and grow, not only as students, but as individuals as well. However, as we grow older, school becomes more of a tedious task, rather than a fun place to go to. From standardized tests, to finals and midterms, school weighs down on us as a heavy burden. It has been under heavy debate on whether or not the school day is long enough. Generally starting at 8 A.M. , and finishing around 3 P.M. , the school day lasts around seven hours, for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Many people believe that the day needs to be longer in order to fit in all of the material students need to learn. However, would making the day longer really benefit anyone? With a longer school day, students would be getting less sleep than they already do and the time being added would not be used in beneficial ways. A longer school day is not only a bad idea, but is detrimental to the health and learning of students. To begin, one of the main reasons that the school day should not be extended, is based on the fact that students will not be getting enough sleep. Mary Carskadon, a professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University, wrote in her article "Let Students Sleep" that "many adolescents are already in trouble because they get too little sleep." With a seven hour school day alone, students are already struggling to get to bed at a reasonable hour, due to sports, extracurriculars, homework, and day–to–day activities. Carskadon notes that good sleep "enhances" and "amplifies" what is learned the day before. Students running on less hours of sleep not only perform badly in school, but tend to forget or struggle to recall what they've learned. To make the school day longer, it would either have to start earlier, forcing students to wake up earlier, or finish later, pushing extracurriculars and homework later into the night. Students running on less sleep struggle to recall what they learned and stay awake in school; thus, with a longer school day, students will be spending time trying to not fall asleep rather than learning new, important material. As one can clearly tell, extending the school day will be detrimental to the health of students. Continuing on, many Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Persuasive Essay On Later School Start Time Later School Start Times: It's Time for a Change You are getting ready for work when you notice the strangely quiet house. You wonder what is wrong, and then it hits you: your teenager is not up yet. You storm into their room, shaking them awake and yet the only response you get is a groan and a "just five more minutes" and a "leave me alone." You notice homework and projects throw in a pile on the floor, evidence of the late night. But yet your teenager is not doing too well in some of their classes, which is confusing. The clock reads 7:27, meaning your son or daughter will be late for school if they do not get up now. After another attempt and another "leave me alone," you leave, flipping the light on as motivation to get up. Parents all over the country are dealing with the same issue with their middle or high school students. Students in grades six through twelve need later school start times due to the change that occurs in their biology during puberty and the academic and health benefits that can come with delayed times. Quite a few people believe that teenagers should just go to bed earlier and think that will solve the whole problem. But what most people don't realize is during the onset of puberty, "most adolescents undergo a sleep phase delay," meaning an adolescent will most likely fall asleep and wake up at a later time (Backgrounder). A teenager will naturally fall asleep around 11 pm or at a later...show more content... The lack of sleep can hurt grades and do mental and physical harm. By pushing back the starting times for middle and high schools, those students can learn more and retain more information. Starting school later for adolescents benefits those students today, but it benefits everyone Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Persuasive Essay Questions In School It doesn't matter if we are ready to answer the questions our young ladies have, they will keep coming. Relying on schools to teach our children everything they need to know about their bodies, peer pressure, bullying, and sex is just not realistic. While some things may be discussed in school, not everything is. Furthermore, children are typically uncomfortable when it comes to asking personal questions in front of their peers. Gossip and rumors will be the biggest enemy you will battle during the school years. There is no secret way to stop this from occurring, and often girls are much meaner than boys when it comes to "flaws". Aside from classmates' developments, advertisements everywhere will have our children questioning what is happening, or perhaps not happening, to their bodies. It is your job as the caregiver to help sort out all these confusing matters. The beginning of puberty in females can start as early as eight years old. Yes, you read that correct, eight years old. Parents are allowing their daughters to wear training bras this young, and it is hard to swallow. You might be wondering why they would need a bra so early? They can't possibly have anything to contain yet, can they? Well, unfortunately the answer is yes. Your daughter may begin to blossom, and taking her to get her first training bra is a special time. Alternatively, there is nothing wrong with opting for a sports bra, or even a camisole for underneath the young lady's shirt. Keep in mind, the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

If you ever went into a business where you had to do a presentation on a piece of work you've been working on or if you came up with a new idea that you thought could help your business, you would most likely have to present the information in front of your boss and coworkers. Having social skills could play a big role in your presentation because if you was not comfortable talking in front of a crowd, then you could either: freeze up while talking, talk too fast cause you're so nervous and want to get the presentation over with, your face could turn red, etc. But, if you had social skills and were use to talking in front of a group of people then you will be comfortable presenting your project with no worries. Also by socializing students can make friends. By making friends school could also be more enjoyable. You will have friends to eat lunch with; friends to hang out with on the weekends and you will have friends in your classes so they will be less boring. If you went to a school where you didn't have any friends or where you didn't like anyone, then you will not enjoy the activities you may do in class and you may want to change schools to find kids that you do like and will enjoy being around. By having social skills it will help you talk to people and make friends. Students may not like going to school but, it is for the best. By going to school students can get an education and get a job or go to college and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Essay on School Safety: Protecting the Students School Safety: Protecting the Students For many students a positive academic environment is increasingly harder to obtain. This is mainly due to their lack of safety. Whether it be inside the classroom or out. Unfavorable situations at home, psychological stability, physical dangers and violence all contribute to this evident shortage. There have been investigations on how organizations, teachers and parents collaborate together in today's society to influence the students understanding of safety in school. The purpose of this paper is to display some examples of each aforementioned contribution and show some of the current measures being taken to aid today's students. Developments within the past decade have opened up new ways...show more content... And with not caring about safety, leads to not caring of academics. As stated in the NEA article, This positive academic environment begins with safe families and safe communities, statistically, schools continue to be one of the most secure places for our children. When that is taken away from a student, they have no drive anymore to follow through with their education. A lot of the time weaponry is involved. Children find guns in parent's drawers, or just while they are playing at their friend's house. Older brothers and sisters who might be involved in gangs might have weapons lying around or even feel its cool to show off to their younger siblings and their friends. However, some of the worst violence is not weaponry. It is the harassment from student to student. Psychological stability is a big issue today when it comes to safety. Peer pressure has left children feeling the need to concentrate more on the popular things to do, then what is best for the student; an education. In fact, Hazler, Hoover, and Oliver (1996) reported that three–fourths of the school students they surveyed indicated that they experienced harassment and bullying to such an extent that they suffered academic, personal, and social difficulties (Hernandez). Bullying can impact a child when it comes to learning. Having someone of the same age, belittle, embarrass, and put a child down, most of the time leads the child to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
