1. Essay about Service Marketing
Introduction
In an ideal situation, customers would not have to wait for the delivery of products and services.
However, in the real world, organizations cannot always match exact capability and demand;
therefore, waiting is frequently inevitable while purchasing, especially in service marketing, as
service firms can barely inventory their "stock" for sale at a later date (Lovelock, 1992, p.154). In
general, waiting in lines – known as "queuing", happens when the number of customers arrive at a
facility exceeds the capability of the system to serve them (Lovelock & Wirtz, 2011, p.260).
Basically, this essay will state the relationship between queuing and customer satisfaction, as well as
relationship between customer satisfaction and...show more content...
When the consumer is waiting alone and have nothing to do, especially in an unfamiliar facility,
the feeling of boring, uncertain about waiting time, stress and anxiety will be increasingly
enlarged with time passing. Queuing also seems more burdensome if people feel physically
uncomfortable. Moreover, because of a fear of "been forgotten", the senses of "get started" of
customers are fervent. It is claimed that the anxiety level is much higher while waiting to be served
than it is while being served, even though the latter queuing will be longer (Lovelock & Wirtz, 2011,
p.267; Maister, 1985).
Unpleasant waiting experience might accompany with customers go through the whole service
process, which could lower the overall evaluation of service quality easily. Not only the queuing
experience, a number of studies also investigated that queuing time in a service organization
significantly influences consumer satisfaction. In general, increasing in waiting time is associated
with decreasing in customer satisfaction (Katz, M.Larson & C.Larson, 1991). The graph (Dube,
Renaghan & Miller, 1994) below shows the effect of waiting time on customer satisfaction in
restaurant industry, and suggests that most consumers do not satisfied if the waiting time is longer
than 8 minutes. In addition, another study (Jones & Dent, 1994) examined that 70% of respondents
considered waiting time as a major

2. The Meaning of Service Essay
The Meaning of Service
Service is a word used constantly. The word service has an impression on many people. For
example; people who work as lifeguards view their work as a service to the community. Naturally,
based on working as a lifeguard their definition of service would be an action beneficial to the
well–being of others. Not surprisingly, a similar definition was found in the Oxford English
Dictionary (OED). Service is described in the Oxford English Dictionary as "the action of serving,
helping, or benefiting; conduct tending to the welfare or advantage of another; condition or
employment of a public servant; friendly or professional assistance." Furthermore, in Webster's Ninth
New Collegiate Dictionary, service is...show more content...
A service berry is "any one of various American trees or shrubs of the genus Amelanchier"
(Dictionary of Americanisms). The second definition was one many may not have recognized
right away. Service is "public worship according to form and order" (OED). After people read this
they think, of course! People are always saying "are you going to attend service on Sunday?" Many
immediately think the word service means providing for another and completely forget by attending
mass they are performing a service to a higher being.
Becoming so firmly planted in one definition of service people tend to ignore its other uses. A
strong attachment to one definition or another can be attributed to working as a lifeguard or work
with other programs like YouVote. With YouVote, participants are helping and benefitting others by
providing them with information important to upcoming elections. By providing people with
information it helps them along their way to making an educated decision when they vote. Working
with YouVote has helped to extend the definition of service to all persons who help or serve others
like; waitresses, teachers, lifeguards, doctors, lawyers, coaches, and the government. The
government continuously provides "service" to our country, or at least they try. The many readings
in WRA135 class have shown the government needs to provide more service to those in need like
all those living below the poverty line and/or on

3. What Does Service Mean To You Essay
I've grown up with the influence of strong women in my life, a lot of which came from my sisters.
One of my sisters was a member of National Honors Society and she always taught me in the ways
to conduct myself like a member would. So growing up I would always try to be the best person I
could be whether that means by studying my hardest, leading the way for my peers and other
generations, doing good deeds for others, or building my character. I would try to tie in the values
to make me as unique and individual as I could. Service is something that every person does in
their life. I try to do as much service as I can, which means a lot of my service is in the summer or
while school in on breaks. While service can be done through organizations and for well–known
causes, service is also seen in everyday life. Service can be through small acts of kindness, such as,
holding open the door, helping someone who's carrying a particularly heavy load, or simply just
being there when they need a shoulder to lean on. Service is about making someone day brighten
with little rays of kindness and to show that someone out there definitely cares for them. Acts of
service always created a desire in me to help make people's lives better. People often put forth their

IntroductionNowadays, many medium sized service companies have appeared in our market
society. What factors have led them to success? Of course, the most important one is doing as best
as they can on customer service. Customer service is not only a quick table wipe and a glass of ice
water. There are many mechanisms to control it. In this essay, I am going to describe the importance
of customer service, and then I am going to talk about how customer service works in the system.
Follow that I want to focus on the analysis on how to use this method to make companies to achieve
success. Finally, I will illustrate what is my feeling in EIBT, what is its strengths and ways to
improve.

Successful serviceA successful service must have a pleasant environment. The most important
factors are friendly and well–groomed staff and informed staff with helpful supervisors. Otherwise, it
should have willing assistance, speed of delivery and politeness.
Customer valueThere are four types of customer value. First one is basic service. It is the very
basic services or products offered to customers. The next stage is expected service which is
customers expected what the service looks like. Then, desired service which means it will have
some add value for customers. The final part is unexpected service. Once customers become used to
superior levels of service, they may expect something more or different. Thus it is necessary to find
ways of giving the customer a different and better service that give unanticipated value.

Companies are misguided nowadays by the notion that customers depend on them, when the truth of
the matter is that companies are dependent on those customers. Customer satisfaction and customer
loyalty is now essential for a business or company to survive. So what is the difference between
customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and how to companies and or business achieve this? Also
when you have difficult customers how do you achieve customer satisfaction?
It's essential that companies or businesses today listen to their customers. No company or business
today can afford to disregard the importance of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Aren't they the
same thing? No, they are absolutely not and they are enormously...show more content...
Customer loyalty is much harder to obtain that customer service satisfaction. The most important
first step is to satisfy the customer by meeting their expectations. Customers only give a company
one chance and if they aren't satisfied they will not do business with that company again, as well
as tell others of their experience. The next step would be to exceed the customer's expectations. If a
business goes above and beyond to assist the customer they begin to build loyalty. The next step is
to truly surprise the customer. In order to dominate the marketplace the company must find a way to
make them selves stand out with their product or service, accompanied with phenomenal customer
service. Once this has been done customer satisfaction and loyalty will be gained. "Acquiring a new
customer can cost four or five times more than keeping a current customer" (Bestmark, 2013). So it's
essential to keep the current customer's happy and coming back for more.
Some of the ways that businesses can build loyalty would be by offering loyalty programs,
Interacting with customers, surveys, creating institutional ties, and personalized marketing. Another
way to build loyalty is to treat your employees so well that they treat your customers well. If you
have happy employees they will treat your customers happy. "The link between satisfaction and
loyalty however is not proportional" (Kotler, Keller, 2009, p71), so businesses must

Service is simply helping someone for profit or nonprofit. Service is intangible product. It means that
there is no physical appearance of the object in the process. "A service is the action of doing
something for someone or something. You cannot touch it. You cannot see it. You cannot taste it.
You cannot hear it. You cannot feel it. It is largely intangible". Introduction to ServicesMarketing –

manager must show the elements of ideas to the audience to prove that intangible product is worth
the purchase. Service is the performance of the product and selling that is Service marketing.
Therefore, the new term 'Quality' is very important to service businesses.
Search quality is the impression of the quality of the product before the purchase by making
several attempts. It is compared to a tangible product because we look at the physical
characteristics of the products and services. Experience quality is easy to judge because when we

2.1 Service industry Service industry is an industry that creates services. In economy, economic
activity are divided into two categories which are goods and services. Goods–producing industries
provide tangible object namely mining, manufacturing, agriculture, and construction. Service
industries include other activities apart from goods–producing industries such as wholesale, retail
trade, banking and communications. In developed countries service industry plays an important role
in the economy while primary activities, for example, agriculture and mining are dominant in
less–developed countries' economy. (The Editors of EncyclopГ¦dia Britannica, 2015.) Since the
beginning of the 1990s, service industry has created enormous growth of employment in Europe
especially in commerce and distribution, welfare services, finance and business services and hotels
and catering. In the early 21st century, more than three–fifths of the global GDP are generated from
service industries and more than one–third of the labor force worldwide are working in this industry.
(The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica, 2015).It can be seen that service has gradually become a
crucial element in the success of organizations. The emergence of electronic business opens
opportunity to the world and intensifies competition in markets. Consequently, there is a need for
service reliability. Technology has a huge impact on service revolution. At present, service are

9. Why I Need Community Service
Imagine struggling to afford the 'mandatory' three meals you're supposed to consume a day. It
would be hard and stressful right? I met over one hundred hungry people that have to feel this
emotion every day of their life, struggling to provide enough food to make a meal, fulfill their
hunger, and stay healthy. On October 17th my senior year ofhigh school I volunteered at a place
called "Broad Street Ministry" a Christian based community church. They have many community
service opportunities that you can get involved with. I helped with feeding the homeless or those
who cannot afford to eat. A teacher at my high school introduced me to this opportunity and I took
away a lot of memories I will cherish with this event.
On October 17th myself and five other students loaded a van with our health teacher and headed
off to Philadelphia. Personally, I volunteered with this event just for community service hours at
first but after I left the event I walked away with more than just some hours that I could write on
paper, I walked away with life lessons and a heavy heart. We got off the bus at our destination
around 9:00 AM to help set up the equipment we were using for the day. As we set everything up I
thought that we overdid it because we many tables pushed together forming a long line each table
full of food followed by coolers of soda and water. After we got done setting up we had a brief
meeting with a head leader of the Broad Street Ministry simply thanking us and giving us a run
down of the day. I didn't think the event would last too long and no way there would be that many
people coming to get food. I put on the mandatory clothing items we had to wear and got in my
place to help out. Noon is when everything started and people started forming a line with plates in
hand. More and more people got in the line and eventually we opened everything up to start
serving people. By the time we started serving there had to be at least 100 people in line, I have
only ever saw this happen on TV or in magazines, never personally. There was such a diverse
group of people that came to this event. I noticed the way each persons face lit up when they filled
their plate with what they were served, even if they did

The movement of service users in Britain has developed over time, following research and new
findings. This question aims to explore service user movement across Britain.
The mental health self–advocacy movement was a significant influence on the development of
service user movement in Britain. It was brought about in the 1980s following the development of
"consumerism" and of patient's councils in both the United States and Holland. Subgroups appeared
over time which resulted in a diversity of practice, such as, disability rights groups. Disability rights
groups helped service users to become involved in a movement which not only influenced policies
and legislation, but benefits too. In return, this resulted in the government reviewing the Disability
Discrimination Act and the Disability Living and Disability Working Allowances. It is apparent that
service user movement had a positive effect on disability rights. It is important to highlight that the
disability rights groups was one of many other sub groups developed which included some of the
following; anti–psychiatry groups, survivors' groups and specialist groups. These groups were all
forms of advocating the needs and rights of people. Given that there are such a wide range of...show

12. Reflection About Service
Service is a work of will. Throughout our lives, we complete service that may be unknown to us.
Service does not always mean doing things for a time frame for a signed paper to turn into school,
but service could mean even the smaller things from helping an injured student to their classroom
or offering help to a teacher carrying too many things. Throughout my almost three years at
DePaul College Prep, I have completed my service requirements, but I also found the things I did
enjoyable; I did not feel forced to do most of the service that I did. I would really like to believe
the service that I completed helped others, along with the community, but the more important aspect
of the service completed was that it opened my eyes to a greater good and allowed me to give more
of myself to others than to focus solely on myself.
My freshman year was kind of a blur. Most of the things that happened that year seemed to have
faded away mostly because it was the easiest year, so far, that I had experienced. If I do recall
correctly, I did my service by helping out the elementary girls volleyball leagues held at the
gymnasium at my high school. This was known as the Spring Little League, and there, I helped to
referee a couple games, and I also helped with admissions and scores. I was able to offer my time
and efforts to these young girls playing, along with my own Coach, Coach Tony. I learned that
everything was better with numbers. I was helping out Coach Tony with my whole team, and

Working with Internet does not mean just browsing www and sending and receiving e–mails. The
Basic Structure of the Internet was developed through last 30 years of existence of the Internet. The
Internet is a heterogeneous worldwide network consisting of a large number of host computers and
local area networks. The Internet uses the TCP/IP suite of protocols. This allows the integration of a

In the second group, the user turns to the Internet–service in search for some particular information.
Communication services can roughly be compared to a telephone call, information services to a

and some derived services. Major information services are terminal emulation and file transfer,
Gopher, WAIS, and World Wide Web.
Electronic mail is the most popular and widely used network service. It can be viewed as the
electronic equivalent to a regular mail letter. When one user wants to send a message to another
Internet user, he types the message into a special computer program, adds the e–mail address of the
recipient, and sends the message off through the network. Typically, the message reaches its
destination almost immediately, even when it is on another continent. Practically all gateways
between the Internet and other computer networks can handle e–mail messages. Therefore, many
more people can be reached by e–mail than are connected to the Internet via TCP/IP. The major
advantage of e–mail over regular mail is that an e– mail message comes in electronic form.
Therefore, it can easily be handled and interpreted by a computer program. This feature is use by
electronic discussion lists. They operate a database of subscribers and each incoming e–mail
message is automatically distributed to each

Child protective services (CPS) is a government agency located in many states across the United
States that helps children stay away from harm and abuse. Child protective services and its

dearest loved one. Child abuse is defined as any type of neglect upon a child including mentally,
physically, and sexually.
Social workers react to reports and take those in danger of neglect to a safer environment. "Being a

Anderson (Volunteering Quotes: Finest Quotes). On average, when people think about community

Community service is more than just hours; community service is based on the acts performed by
someone with the purpose of helping or bringing benefits to his or her community. People frequently

Volunteering in your community helps solve many dilemmas in your community that descend
through the eyes of government and social agencies (Everything you ever wanted to know about

since teenagers are the future of tomorrow and they will leave a mark from yesterday. Volunteering
has been such an important matter, that schools in many countries around the world established that
12th grade students will need certain hours of community service in order to graduate. But the
frequent answers all the schools are getting are "Why do I need to volunteer? I have better things to
do!" What people are forgetting is that each one of them is part of a community, a community that is
not perfect and that the government sometimes forgets about their problems or needs, because
obviously the government needs to take care of other things that require more attention. People are
not only helping others, they are also helping themselves (Volunteering). Volunteering is not a new
subject now, but people did not perceive it before because as time goes by, volunteering is becoming
more and more popular since each year more people volunteer. Volunteering began around the early

Importance of Customer Service
Introduction
Today's organizations fail to realize the value of their customers when it comes to the success of their
business. Without customer loyalty the success of your business will always be uncertain.
Organizations must sensitively tailor the designs of a successful firm to the particular challenges of
understanding, attracting, and keeping valuable customers. "Having satisfied customers just aren't
good enough". Kenneth Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles, co–authors of Raving Fans, believe this
concept is needed to have a successful business. I agree with this concept of customers being the
focal point of any business. I would want more than just a satisfied customer; I want a "Raving Fan".

Discover What the Customer Wants
After creating your vision, try to discover what the customer wants or what their vision is. The
customer will focus on just one or two things and it will be up to you to fill in the gap with your
vision. You will then pick and choose which ideas you want to use to complete or build up your
vision. Not every idea of the customer will be used or has to be used. Some ideas may not be
feasible or even applicable to what you have envisioned.
Deliver the Vision Plus One Percent
This is where the vision becomes reality; make it happen just as you envisioned it. Work out the
bugs and keep doing what ever it takes to make this vision come alive. Start out with something
small that you know you can maintain and be consistent with it. Once you have mastered that idea,
add to it, make it better by just one percent. Continue to do this with each new idea, always
producing better ideas by one percent. This way the customer is not promised something that you
will not deliver and you're not promising something too big or complex to consistently follow
through with. Consistency is critical; it creates credibility.
Conclusion
I have always believed customers are the focal point of any business. I found that having satisfied
customers does not mean you are doing a good job. It may mean the customers are satisfied
because their expectations are so low and there is no one else doing any better. Having

children what I am passionate about, health care and educating others. I explained to the children
what germs were, and how they are everywhere. I also had a translator for the ones that could not

21. Service Learning Project Report
Academics is a large part of what determines the future of the typical college student. With an
education and a degree, it is assumed that the individual will be an active member in a work space,
a family, and the various forms of community that will be encountered after graduation. However, for
an individual to fully participate and utilize their skills to the best of their ability, they will need to
practice participating and helping within a community. This is what a service learning project is. This
project will integrate the student's into a community, whether it be a town, church, school, and any
other community. The student's will be given multiple opportunities that allow them to enrich the
lives of the other members of this community.
