2. Hello kids. My name is Hei Mao and I am going to talk about what is copyright.
3. What do you understand for copyright? One way of being clear about this word is dividing into two: copy and right. Now, could you tell me what copy and right are? EXACTLY!!! Copy is imitate, reproduce or transcript of an original source. And right is something that is good, proper or just right conduct.
4. Now that we know the meaning of those two words we can combine and find the definition out. Copyright is a protection over intellectual property on original works. For example, literary, dramatic, musical, and artistic works, such as poetry, novels, movies, songs, computer software, and architecture are protected under the Copyrights.
6. Whoaaa Are you going to copy the whole poem for your assignment?
7. I think it is not RIGHT to use all this poem even when it is for educational purposes. Probably you kids are questioning why that is not right. Well, this is why: - For motion media, 10%, or up to 3 minutes. - For text material, 10% or up to 1000 words. - For music, lyrics and so forth 10% but no more than 30 seconds of an individual work
8. How much do you think we can use of that poem? That it is RIGHT!!! 10% of the poem. What if now we see the part that caught my attention in that poem. “His voice is like rickety floorboards. It crackles and groans when he speaks”. Kenn Nesbitt
9. What can not be a Copyright Ideas and facts that are in public domain Words, names and slogans Government work Administrative rulings Works created by federal goverment
10. Okay kids, do not forget to use Copyright for all the material that you use in the future.
