2. Premise
• Screen captures are typically 96dpi (screen) resolution
• That works for computer-to-computer presentations etc.
• Submit a publication, map or calendar?
• Requirement of 300dpi typically more important than the file format
• Photoshop etc. allow to do that if you have them
• But here’s a technique using Micosoft Paint in Windows
3. Post a 300dpi image (target) and your 96 dpi
image (source) side by side on your desktop

4. Verify the resolution of each image, select in
top menu File > Properties

5. If not already JPEG, “Save as…” that format so
you can read dpi’s (no image degradation)
