Pronoun
A word that is used in place of a
noun is called a pronoun.
Example- I, me, this, those, he, her, himself, etc.
Example- Smita thanked Raj because Raj
had helped Smita to complete Smita’s
work.
When using pronouns it reads:-> Smita thanked Raj because he helped
her to complete her work.
Kinds of Pronouns
1) Personal
Pronouns
2) Possessive

3) Reflexive
Pronouns
4) Emphatic

Personal Pronouns
They take the place of persons or things.
I, me, you, he, she, her, it (singular)
We, us, them, their, you (plural)

Possessive Pronouns
These are used instead of nouns to show
possession or relationship.
Mine, ours, yours, his, hers, theirs
Reflexive Pronouns
They are pronouns in which the actions done
by the subject reflect upon it ‘self’ or ‘selves’
is added to the personal pronouns.
Themselves, myself, himself, herself, yourself,
themselves

A pronoun which refers to a person or thing in a
general way.
Someone, everything, nobody, few, none, anyone, all,
others, etc .

Interrogative Pronouns
They are used for asking questions.
Who, whom, whose, what, which
Relative Pronouns
It refers to a preceding noun.
That, who, which, when, whose, what, whatever
Example- This is the boy who stood first.
Cricket it the game which I would like
to play.
