Summer is a minor yet dynamic and round character from the book Wonder. She is a friend of Auggie Pullman and enjoys creative writing, having won an award for it. Throughout the book, Summer changes from only socializing with others who have summer-related names to accepting everyone regardless of how they look or who they are. She is described as having brown curly hair often in pigtails and being a caring person willing to be Auggie's friend despite how others treated him due to his appearance.
3. SUMMER’S BIO AND
BACKGROUND
• Her family: Mom and Dad
• Her Friends: August Pullman and Jack Will
• Her likes are writing and hanging out with friends.
• Her dislikes are people not treating other people
equally.
• An activity Summer is involved with is creative
writing. She won a gold medal at her 5th grade
graduation for creative writing.
4. MINOR CHARACTER
Summer is a minor character because we
would not know who she unless the main
character (August Pullman) introduced us
to her. If Auggie didn’t introduced us , we
would not know what she look like, how
she acts.
5. DYNAMIC CHARACTER
Summer did change throughout the book,
because she used to only sit at an all
summer related names table and didn’t
like anyone else. Then Auggie came and
she didn’t care who sat with her. She
accepted everyone else for being
themselves.
6. ROUND CHARACTER
Summer is a round character. I know this because
August Pullman described her physical features and
her personality. One of her physical features are
brown curly hair and she always has her hair in pig
tails. One personality trait is caring because Summer
didn’t care what anybody said about her hanging
out with August. She thought that Auggie needed a
friend because how cruel everyone else was to him
because of how he looked.
