This document describes a GSM-based wireless electricity billing system with time-of-day metering. The key components include an optical interface to read energy meter pulses, a microcontroller to calculate consumption and bills, an LCD display, real-time clock, and GSM modem for wireless communication. The system aims to automate electricity billing and provide benefits like more accurate billing, real-time consumption data, and customized rates compared to traditional manual billing processes. Block diagrams and PCB layouts are shown, along with a components list and estimated project schedule.

2. current system
• Done by human operator from houses to houses and building to
building.
• Requires huge number of labor operators.
• Long working hour to achieve complete area data reading and billing.
• Human operator billing are prone to reading error.
• Restricted and slow down by bad weather condition.
3. GSM BASED WIRELESS ELECTRICITY BILLING
WITH TOD METERING
• Automatic consumption calculation
• Separate billing for TOD(time of day)
• Optical interface with energy meter
