Evaluation question 2
1.
2. Blogger was the first piece of software that I got introduced to whilst
creating this product. Blogger is where I can upload everything I’ve
produced to my blog so its all in one place and in order. Its really easy
to use but I still learnt a lot just by using that software. This was a
different type of software than the rest because it was for a blog so it
made me learn a lot of things like how to use it. For example, I learnt
how to put a HTML file on there by embedding the link and pasting it
in there.
3. I’d also never used Slideshare before, I’d never even heard of it
before, so this was a new software that I got introduced during this
project. I used this so I was able to upload some of the things I’d done
on other softwares onto Blogger, because otherwise it wouldn’t work
without doing it through there. Once I knew the steps of how to get
the link to paste on to blogger, it was really simple and easy which
was useful because it was a process I had to do many times to get
the majority of my things on to my blog.
4. To take my photographs for our magazine front cover and contents
page, I was allowed to hire out a camera to take them where I filled
out a booking sheet to show that. I spent roughly an hour taking
photos of my models where I then took it back into my media room
and uploaded them onto the computer. I have used a camera
before so I already knew how to use it which made it easy for me to
get my photographs taken and get that part finished.
5. Throughout making my magazine, I only ever ended up using Prezi
once. I used it to present my different location pictures and talk
about why I was planning on taking my photos in that specific
location. It was quite difficult to get the hang of it at first but I found it
okay. I could’ve used PowerPoint or something more simple to
present it on but Prezi seems more interesting and it had more of a
variety of ways to present it (e.g. different themes). This broadened
my knowledge about what you can do on different softwares
because this was a whole new software I learnt how to use and what
to use it for.
6. This was the first time I’d ever used Photoshop before so I managed to
learn a lot of techniques. It made me learn a lot about different ways
you can produce and create things. This was one of the main
important pieces of technology that we had to use because this was
where we created our front cover and contents page. Thankfully,
once I got taught the basics, I found it pretty easy to use so I had no
problems completing it. By constructing this product, it has
broadened my knowledge about different technologies you can use
for different things.
7. During creating this product, I only ever used Emaze twice towards
the end of the project. I used this for my evaluation question 1 where I
compared my front cover with an example, and my contents page
with an example. I’d never used this before so I found it more tricky
and challenging to use but it made me learn about how to use more
technologies instead of using the standard PowerPoint or Word. This
was the perfect piece of software to do the comparisons on because
it allowed me to insert arrows with text surrounding the images. There
was many other things that we could do on there aswell at the tool
bar at the top. I played around on this for a while so I could really see
the different things I could do and include, so this made me learn a
lot about how to use it and what its best to use it for.
