2. Introduction
• I did this questionnaire to find out as much
information that I could from my target audience. I
did this by finding out what kind of content that
people would like to see, and what type of things
they would expect to see within a rap magazine. I
also wanted to kind what lifestyle that the people at
the age of my target audience have. I also wanted
to know what the age of my target audience would
expect to find within every music magazine, so that I
could create a realistic magazine which would
contain the contents that can be found within every
magazine, which make my target audience feel like I
am creating a magazine that they would
continuously enjoy.

What Information in wanted to receive from
this question was to find out how young
adults spend their weekends so I could
gather more information about my target
audience. I wanted to be assured that my
target audience of a young person going out
on the weekend is correct. What information
that I received from this question was that
many young people tend to go out with their
friends or listened to music on the weekend.
This information means that my assumption
for my target audience of people going out
with their friends on the weekend is correct,
yet they say that they did not go clubbing
or drinking. I wanted to receive information
like this as it is associated with my target
audience, however I did not expect to
receive this information due to all of the
participants being underage. This therefore
will not affect my magazine as it seems that
the answer somewhat fit with what I wanted
to do anyway.

I asked this question so that I understand
that my target audience is male. I will ask
this question for my other questions, so
that I know what the magazines
demographic believe should be used for a
magazine like this. I was hoping to learn
that the male people I asked would have
more of the lifestyle that stereotypically
males of that age range have, which
would link to my target audience. I believe
that my results show this as the females
mostly said things like listening to music
and doing homework. This shows that the
people that have characteristics more
suited to my target audience showed
evidence of the lifestyle I have
associated with males at a young adult
age. This question also allowed to
understand what males thought should be
used for my magazine, meaning that I
would take their advice over the girls to
better represent my target audience.

I asked this question to learn what the
people age I questioned was. I also used it
to show what the majority of the peoples
age I asked was. This is that I know that if
it is majority 17 then it would be closer to
my target audiences age as my target
audiences age is late teens to early
twenties. By asking this question it allowed
me to understand that I should take some
of their comments on board when trying to
complete the magazine as they are the
target audience for the magazine and the
type of age that would be interested in the
music genre of rap. As well as this, finding
information on the age of the people I have
asked allowed me to understand whether
they would read my rap magazine, and if
they didn’t then what could be done to
make the magazine more targeted towards
them, such as the design of the magazine

I asked this question so that I knew
basic information about each of the
people who answered. I also wanted to
ask it to show that the people I asked
were not mainly the ethnic target
audience for my magazine. What is
wrong about this information is that I
did not ask any people who where of a
black ethnicity, which is mainly my
target audience although it will also be
male with white ethnicity targeted as
well. This now means that my audience
will still mainly be of black ethnicity, yet
I will branch out more to ethnicities
such as white and Asian with my
magazine so that it will have a broader
target audience.

I asked this question so that I learned what people who
were around the age of my target audience felt would
be important to put onto the front cover so that they
would possibly buy the magazine. This allowed to
understand what I should use so that my magazine is
more accessible to people that are outside of my
target audience. My results show that the people I ask
believe that I variety of different things effect what
grabs peoples attention when looking at a magazine.
This makes me believe that my magazine has to have a
great overall presentation so that it will grab peoples
attention. This means that I now have to consider what
font will look best on the magazine, whilst also
considering how the magazine should be lade out to
the audience, Meanwhile, I will also have to consider
what colours I should use on my front colour, as I feel I
will need to use bright colours like red and yellow so
that peoples attention will be grabbed, whilst also
making the magazine presentable and so that it looks
professional so that people will take an interest in the
magazine.

I asked this question so that I knew whether the
people who answered my questionnaire would read
my magazine. I asked this so that if the majority said
that they do not read music magazines then possibly
I would not consider some of the suggestions that
they gave me for my magazine. The results show
that some people will buy magazines on a regular
basis and whilst some will never read music
magazines since they do not have an interest in it.
This shows that not all of my target audience will like
the magazine or will not take an interest in it since
they do not feel it is for them whilst some will read
since they enjoy listening to music magazines and
enjoy different genres of music. This means that due
to how some of my target audience will not take an
interest in it means that I may have to make the
magazine more accessible to people outside of
people who like the genre. This means that I will
include artists that are more mainstream and include
other artists of a different race other than black

I asked this question to find out what the
people around the age of my target audience
tend to listen to. This allowed me to
understand what type of music the people I
asked enjoyed listening to. This shows that
the agree of my target audience enjoy a
variety of different music. This means that the
people that are the age of my target audience
have differing opinions on music, whilst this
also means that younger people are more
accessible to music and are able to like a
mixture of musical genres. This means that for
my magazine I will put names that I feel the
general public music fan will, whilst also
putting names that rap fans will enjoy. This
means for the general public I will put more
mainstream artists and names within the
genre that are well known, whilst for rap fans I
will put up and coming artists as well as
artists that are relevant within rap today

I asked this question so that I had ideas for
what I should do when designing my contents
page and front cover. This allowed me to
understand what things that my magazine
should show, what things younger people and
music magazine readers would expect to find
within my magazine. This also allowed me to
understand what magazines that are taking
people interest tend to always include within
the magazine, meaning that my magazine had
to include these kind of things just to be on
par with other substantial music magazines.
This allows me to understand what the
demographic for the magazine feel is necessary
for them to enjoy, whilst also showing that they
feel these kind of articles are needed to make
my magazine professional to the viewer. This
also allows me to gather context on what
magazines tend to have when they are specific
to a genre, as magazines about film and
technology tend to include reviews on those
very subjects.

I asked this question to find out whether the people I
asked would read music magazines and if they were
too what genre of music magazine would they read.
These results show that my target audience has an
avid interest in reading music magazines in general,
whilst also showing that one of the main magazines
they have an interest in is rap magazines. This
shows that my target audience likes a variety of
different interest and likes to experience different
types of music. For this question however I would
have preferred it if the majority said they would take
an interest in a rap magazine. This is so that I would
be able to take more of the comments suggested by
the target audience on board. However, this article
shows me that younger people take an interest in a
variety of musical genres. This means that they
could be swayed into taking an interest in the
magazine if it showed more mainstream rap names
that people thoroughly enjoy. This means that if I
include artists such as jay z , drake and Kanye west
then they will notice the magazine more as it will
grab their attention as these are artists that the
majority of music fans like.

I asked this question so that I knew what I must
include in the magazine, since these are the
type of things that the target audience would
expect to find within the magazine to make it
respectable as well as enjoyable. The results
show that the majority of my target audience
believe that exclusive magazines must be
included whilst news articles on rap is an
necessity for my magazine. This means that the
target audience feel that I must include
exclusive interviews with rap artists so that my
magazine can be on par with other rap music
magazines. This therefore shows that the
target audience feel that in order for my m
magazine to be a success then the interviews
must be exclusive. Because of this information,
this now means that I will be including exclusive
on the front page when talking about my artist,
and I will now include the word exclusive when I
talk about any interview within the
magazine.
