3. Summary Of Unit Students will do many different activities and excercises to demonstrate and enhance their ability to incorporate rhythm and movement together to the sound of music.
4. Role of Teacher I will be using many different techniques and activities to reach all different types of learners and help them be successful in this unit.
5. Role of Parents and Students Parents should ask their children every day to show them what they have learned. Parents should ask the students to demonstrate the movements and dance that they learned in class. Students should show their parents what they learned, and should help their parents learn how to do it as well.
6. Benefits of Unit This unit will be a hands on unit. Students will get to partake in a fun type of learning to enhance their knowledge of rhythm and movement. Students will be able to apply what they learned from this unit.
7. Standards and objectives Standard 1- Arts and Education (2006) Grade-K. The students will be able to demonstrate the ability to stop, go, freeze, and move safely on cue. Objective 1- Students will demonstrate their ability to stop go and freeze while listening to music.Standard 2- Arts Education (2006) Grade K. Students will demonstrate their ability to identify the basic elements of movement. Objective 2- Identify the basic elements of movement, including time, space, and energy
8. Project-based learning Project-Based Learning is a modern, hands-on type of learning. This type of learning is beneficial for students because they get to be much more involved in the learning process.
