ACTIVIDADES SUGERIDAS
PROPÓSITOS 3.3, 3.4, 3.7, 4.2 y 4.4
Observación: Se sugieren varias actividades para que los y las estudiantes de primer
año las realicen de acuerdo con los propósitos vistos en clase. Algunas de las
actividades propuestas pertenecen a la guía de ejercicios adquirida por los estudiantes,
pero otras no aparecen en la misma y deberán ser realizadas en el cuaderno de inglés.
1. Extraer del texto que se presenta a continuación diez (10) oraciones en presente
continuo con verbos diferentes y traducirlas al español. Se debe tomar en cuenta las
reglas para formar el gerundio que están en la guía en las páginas 10 a 12. Para
formar el presente continuo es necesario que en la oración esté presente el verbo
“TO BE” conjugado en presente y el verbo principal con “ing”.
Ejemplo:
Karen is standing in front of the bathroom mirror: Karen está frente al espejo
del baño

THE GIRLS
Karen, Irene and Sophia are in their dormitory room. Karen and Irene are going to a
party tonight. Karen and Irene are getting ready for the party but Sophia isn’t. Karen
is standing in front of the bathroom mirror. She is putting on her makeup. She is
putting on lipstick. She is making up her eyes with an eyebrow pencil and eye
shadow. She is wearing a dressing gown over her bra and panties.
Irene is standing in the bedroom. She is drying her hair with an electric hair dryer. Her
black silk dress is lying on her bed. Her nylon stockings are hanging over the back of
the chair. Her pearl necklace, gold earrings and pin are lying on the dresser. Her
black handbag is also on the dresser.
Karen’s wool suit is hanging on a hanger in her closet. The skirt is dark blue and the
jacket is too. Her green and blue cotton blouse is lying on her bed and her compact is
too.
2. Sophia is writing a letter at her desk. She isn’t going to the party. She is wearing
casual clothes. She is wearing red slacks and a pink sweater. She is wearing a gold
bracelet on her wrist.
2. Realizar las actividades de las páginas 13 a la 19 de la guía, numerales XI, XII, XIII y
XIV.
3. Buscar el vocabulario de la página 37 de la guía correspondiente a los adjetivos y
sus opuestos.
4. Investigar: ¿por qué a los verbos: can, could, may, might, will, would y should se les
denomina verbos defectivos o anómalos?
5. Investigar cinco características principales de los verbos defectivos o anómalos.
6. Las siguientes oraciones son incorrectas, por favor corríjalas.

7. Leer la teoría del propósito 4.3, página 22 de la guía, relacionada con las
preposiciones de tiempo y lugar.
NOTA:
El desarrollo de esta actividad para los y las estudiantes de segundo año sección “C”
está sujeto a la posibilidad que tengan los representantes para pasar por la Institución a
buscar las guías, en la coordinación de segundo año. (Recomendación: de 8:00 a
10:30am)
