Singh, 1995) A video clip of 3 minutes and 15 seconds duration as the eyewitness event depicting a riot, as used in Experiment-1 A memory test consisting 20 items regarding details of the event Two types of post-event information (The consistent post-event information correctly described the event and items given in the test. Misleading post-event information employed some misleading cues about the event

Misleading post-event information led the witnesses to poor eyewitness memory retention Extraverts were more accurate eyewitnesses than were the introverts Introverts performed better than the extraverts with consistent post-event information, while extraverts performed better when given misleading and no post-event information High energetic arousal and hedonic tone subjects retained more event details than the high tense arousal and anger/frustration subjects High tense arousal and anger/frustration subjects’ memory score dropped sharply when they were given misleading post event information in comparison to the high energetic arousal and hedonic tone subjects
