1) There are millions of homeless Americans each year, including 1 in 45 children who are prevented from attending school regularly. This raises crime rates among youth. 2) Many homeless children do not know when their next meal will be and do not get proper nutrition, affecting their ability to learn. 3) Small acts of volunteerism and community involvement can help the less fortunate in meaningful ways and improve one's own life and community.
