We Indian are awesome in many ways. Here we live among a big diverse group of people with different religion, language, culture and tradition, but apart from these differences we take pride in being a citizen of India but some Indians still have the instinct of stereotype. We call North Eastern people ‘Chinese’. We forget the fact that they are as much Indian as we are and have same constitutional rights like us. We have a very over simplified idea of people because of their place of birth, religion or ancestral background. We call a South Indian “Madrasi”. A brilliant student must be a science student. These are some stereotypes prevalent in India. A matchmaking site, Truly Madly decided to run a campaign known as #BreakingStereotypes where youth of India tried to break these stereotypes by showing a small message to the people around the world which shows what people think of them and what they really are. In this post we are going to share those images so that you, our readers, can avoid misconception and remove the idea of Indian stereotyping from their minds
