Beneath the sea, all the sea creatures
were swimming towards King Triton’s
magnificent palace.
6. There was a concert and
King Triton had invited
everyone to attend it.
21. “Happy birthday, Prince Eric!”
they cried to a handsome
young man, “Please accept
our gift,” said an older man,
pointing to the statue of the
dashing prince.
59. Steering the ship at full speed
towards the raging monster,
he caught her before she saw
what was coming and pierced
her heart with the ship’s long
prow.
61. Her powers vanished, freeing
Triton from her spell. Triton
got his trident and became the
king again.
62. A few days later, he saw Ariel
on a rock by prince’s castle
with a sad look.

love the prince. He turned her

67. About the Story
"The Little Mermaid" (Danish: Den lille havfrue,
literally: the little sea lady) is a very well
known fairy tale by the Danish author Hans
Christian Andersen about a young mermaid
bwilling to give up her life in the sea and her
identity as a mermaid to gain a human soul and
the love of a human prince.
The tale was first published in 1837 and has been
adapted to various media including musical
theatre and animated film
