What would you do differently? More interaction More use of the technology Topic selection Podcasts I had not stopped to think about the types before. I know it was easier to listen to instructional podcasts that had a show flair. Just listening to the same voice will cause people to stop paying attention eventually - mixing in music and sound effects is a great way to keep the attention. Now when I listen I am aware of the format, the choices of music, fade-ins and fade-outs and sound effects. Summary: Thinking about how media has an impact on learning (motivation and cognition) Consider the quality of media as part of your learning solution Learning Technology Encyclopedia navigating the editing process and then understanding who does what, proved the most troubling Lisa - This is the second time I have been frustrated by a large wiki project. Will it be of use? It will be of use . . . Formatting and plagiarism are a concern. However, it was a good experience to learn to collaborate with people widely dispearsed. Wiki editor = bad Summary: Wiki implementation is usually just one person putting content together or wiki without an implementation plan. Hopefully, this project served to identify some of the potential and challenges in using social/collaborative tools. As instructors we decided on less structure with a goal of increasing the learning impact. Those of you that added only minor elements to the wiki were within the goals of the project. You can see how a large number of people working together can create a great resource without a huge effort from any one individual. As we move forward we need to reconsider how this project/resource evolves. You’ve provided some really good suggestions for doing that. I do think an important consideration that needs to be addressed in plagiarism. Really an experimental project that did have educational merit.
