This Slideshare showcases how Apartment Complexes installed Water meters to implement Water Metering exercise.It also explains the effects and advantages of water meter installation in Apartment Complexes. Apartment Residents were able to monitor their water consumption per week, per month. By doing so, the water metering exercise helped the residents to be aware of their water usage and this encouraged them to use the water judiciously. It deals with how the residents managed to get 24 hours of water supply with just installing water meter even when they didn't get continuous water for few hours in a day. It was found that once a commodity is billed people try to keep its usage to a minimum. Under this system residents were able to pay Rs.0.06 per litre. Per litre charge varies according to the total volume of water consumed per month for the whole apartment complex. To calculate per litre divide total water tanker cost for the month by the sum of all the water meter readings. Several water saving tips & techniques are discussed here which will help to reduce the water bill amount. Thus Water Metering can be a very effective measure to deal with the shortage of water in Apartment Complexes which is hitting Indian cities.
