This document introduces cyber public relations and how technology has influenced the field. It discusses how PR transitioned from Web 1.0 tactics like corporate websites and email blasts to more modern tactics in Web 2.0 like social media, viral marketing, and search engine optimization. The goal of new PR, called PR 2.0, is to understand target communities and engage them in conversations rather than simply marketing directly to them. Geosocial networking is also referenced as an emerging tactic.
