2. INTRODUCTION
• In SAP ABAP, Background processing permits us to
schedule tasks to perform naturally.
• An alternate reason of doing so is to streamline the
utilization of SAP processing assets.
• In other words, it is instructing our SAP system to run
our program.
• At ArchitectSAP Solutions, the SAP consultants move
long running or asset concentrated projects as a
background job.
• These employments could be scheduled to run in the
night when there are few clients utilizing the SAP
framework.

3. How to Define Background jobs
There are two ways to define and schedule
Background jobs, which are as follows:
oUsing transaction SM36.
oUtilizing Job Scheduling Wizard. (For this, we have
to begin Transaction Sm36, and afterward either
select Goto @ Wizard form or utilize the catch for
Job Wizard)
Please note: first approach is best choice for the

planning, while second approach is for the clients

• Enter SM36 in OK Code field or we need to
choose CCMS -> Jobs -> Definition.
• Now we need to give a job name to enter it in
the Job Name Field.
• Then, we have to set Job’s Priority or ‘Job
Class’.
– High Priority: Class A
– Medium Priority: Class B
– Low Priority: Class C
