Our journey so far
Founded in June 2010 offering German translations
Year 1 to 3 – revenue growth:
• Quickly grew from single freelancer to managing a team of 40-50 freelance
translators
• Offering German, French and English translations
• Significant year on year growth in revenue
Year 4 onwards – in-house team growth:
• August 2014: first full-time translator
• May 2015: second full-time translator
• September 2015: third full-time translator
• Today: 2 full-time translators and regular translation interns

Being ethical
• We pay fair rates, within reasonable
timescales, to our translators
Being boutique
• We are specialists in a small number
of languages where we have mother
tongue PMs with market-specific
linguistic and cultural expertise for
100% control over translation quality
Being sustainable
• We want to grow our business in an
organic way that doesn’t put undue
pressure on our team or finances
Financial
• Making sufficient profit on tight
margins
• Managing cashflow on tight payment
cycles (30 day client terms, officially
45 days translator terms but we
generally pay translators within 32-
35 days)
Service offering
• Winning larger clients despite
‘limited’ language offering

development
