Jeffery Whippo elaborates the effect of stress on behavior in workplace.

professional relationships. Some people have deep attachment to their
workgroups and ways of accomplishing work. When any of these are
disturbed, a transition period occurs. Thus, it is important recognize that
people are experiencing stress and they may not be capable of performing
exactly as they have been in the past.
Stress is thought to affect organizations by impairing performance and
productivity, increasing complaints from clients and customers, increasing
liability to legal claims and actions by stressed workers, and increasing
unsafe working practices and accident rates.
According to Jeffery D Whippo, often managers in organizations do not
understand the normal progression of change or stress-producing
situations and they expect employees to immediately return to total
productivity after a stressful event. Overall, considering stress in the
workplace, it is important to understand the components about stress,
situations that induce it, and employee responses to stress. It can help both
