ORIENTATION
   Most PowerPoint's basic text formatting tools
    are found on the home tab of the ribbon.
   There are 2 groups of text formatting tools on
    the ribbon: the Font group and the Paragraph
    group.
   They allow you to fine-tune the text on your
    slides right down to an individual character.
   They also provide access to the Font and
    paragraph dialog boxes that give you more
    control over your text´s appearance.

CHOOSING FONTS AND FONT
         SIZES
   Fonts are sets of characters, numbers, and
    symbols in a specific style or design.
   There are 2 fonts: one font for the heading and
    one for the body text.
USING AUTOFIT TO CHANGE
       TEXT SIZE
   By default text in the placeholder boxes on a
    slide layout are set to auto fit so that if your
    type more text into them than will fit the text
    automatically gets smaller so that it will fit into
    the placeholder box.

          AND EFFECTS
   Text on a PowerPoint slide can be boldfaced
    or italicized, underlined, or formatted with other
    attributes such as strikethrough or shadow.
CHANGING FONT COLOR

   An easy way to change text appearance is to
    modify its color.
   Use the font color button in the font group to
    Access a palette of colors you can apply to
    selected text.
COPYING CHARACTER FORMATS
     WITH THE FORMAT PAINTER

   Format painter is a tool that copies formatting
    from one block of text to another.
SET INDENTATION
    Indentation controls the horizontal spacing of a
     paragraph much as line spacing controls its
     vertical spacing.
     Indentation determines how far from the text
     box´s left and right margins the text appears.
1.     Hanging: a reverse indent
2.     First line: a standard first-line indent
3.     (none):removes any special indents for the
       first line
CREATING NUMBERED LIST

   To place a list of itemized information in
    numerical order.
   Numbered lists are used for procedural steps,
    action items, and other information where the
    order in which the items appear is significant.
INSERT A WORDART
              GRAPHIC
   You can format it in a number of ways.
   You can change the style from the word art
    gallery.
CHANGING THE WORDART
         FILL COLOR
   The word art fill color is the color you see
    inside the word art characters.
   You can change the fill color by using the color
    palette for the current theme or any other
    available color.
   You can also apply a special effect fill to
    wordart such as a texture, gradient, or pattern.
APPLYING A TEXTURE FILL
         TO WORDART
   Texture are graphics that repeat top fill an
    object with a surface that resembles a familiar
    material such as straw marble paper or wood.
CHANGING THE WORDART
       OUTLINE COLOR
   Includes a colored outline around the edges of
    the word art characters.
   You can fine-tune the outline color of the
    object.
APPLYING SPECIAL EFFECTS
      TO WORD ART
   You can apply special effects to your word art
    objects such as shadows reflections glows
    transformation and more.
FORMATING TEXT WITH
           WORDART
   You do NOT have to insert a word art graphic
    to use the word art slide.
   Applying word art styles to regular text in a
    presentation is an additional way to format the
    text to customize the presentation

   Text boxes can be used to a place text on a
    slide anyplace you want it

    plain colored fills.
   A texture fill repeats a small graphic to fill the
    area

   You can apply the same special effects to text
    boxes as you can to word art, drawn shapes,
    and other objects.
CHANGING THE DEFAULT
FORMATTING FOR NEW TEXT BOXES

   If you are going to create lots of text boxes in
    a presentation, there are ways you can save
    time in formatting them.
ORIENTING TEXT IN A TEXT
               BOX
   You can change the text direction in a text box
    so that text runs from bottom to top or stacks
    one letter atop the other.
SETTING THE MARGINS IN A
        TEXT BOX
   PowerPoint helps you to set the margin in a
    text box.
   Margins control the distance between the text
    and the outer border of the text box.
CHANGING THE TEXT WRAP
 SETTING FOR A TEXT BOX
   Depending on the type of text box and the way
    it was created, it may or may not be set to
    wrap the text automatically to the next line
    when the right margin is reached.
ALIGNING TEXT BOXES ON A
          SLIDE
   You can align the text box itself with other
    objects on the slide, including other text boxes.
CHECKING SPELLING
   The spelling feature compares each word in
    the presentation to its built-in and custom
    dictionaries, and flags and words that it does
    not find, plus any instances of repeated

   A thesaurus is a reference book or utility that
    offers suggestions for words that are similar in
    meaning to the word you are looking up or that
    are opposite meaning.
