The United States of America is infamous for being a melting pot of different cultures and
ethnicities. The diversity in America is great and in theory is an amazing asset to this nation.
However, as a society we tend to allow our differences to segregate us and alienate those who are
different. By not embracing the diversity among us, many complications are created. For instance, as
a result of an inability to respect other cultures, prejudice, discrimination, and tragic violence often
occur. People begin to fight with others for the sole reason that they do not hold all the same beliefs.
Also, as a result of the difficulties associated with poor acceptance of cultural diversity,
communication becomes muddled and misunderstandings become prevalent, creating a society
where different peoples are unable to communicate with each other affectively. The way to combat
these problems lies in cultural competency. Cultural competency is an understanding that everyone
is different while also encouraging respect and tolerance of these varying cultures. As exemplified by
the nursing profession, cultural competency benefits all and has the potential to create a more just
society for the common good. In nursing, an intolerance of different peoples can mean the difference
between survival and death, just as it can for greater society, both literally and figuratively. As
encapsulated by the nursing profession, an application of cultural competency creates a society
where our

Unity and Diversity: Finding the Proper Balance Unity and diversity are both qualities to be desired

Society:
According to Eugene M. Makar, the traditional Indian culture is defined by relatively strict social
hierarchy. He also mentions that from an early age, children are reminded of their roles and places
in society. This is reinforced by the fact that many believe gods and spirits have integral and
functional role in determining their life. Several differences such as religion divide culture.
However, far more powerful division is the traditional Hindu bifurcation into non–polluting and
polluting occupations. Strict social taboos have governed these groups for thousands of years. In
recent years, particularly in cities, some of these lines have blurred and sometimes even disappeared.
Nuclear family is becoming central to Indian culture.
Important family relations extend to as far as gotra, the mainly patrilinear lineage or clan assigned
to a Hindu at birth. In rural areas it is common that three or four generations of the family live under
the same roof. Patriarch often resolves family issues.
Among developing countries, India has low levels of occupational and geographic mobility. People
choose same occupations as their parents and rarely move geographically in the society.
Family:
India for ages has had a prevailing tradition of the joint family system. It's a system under which
even extended members of a family like one's parents, children, the children's spouses and their
offspring, etc. live together. The

Good morning to one and all.
We all know that India is not only known for technology industries but also because of it's variety of
people, numerous languages, multiple customs and traditions; different races with different faces
and marvelous landscapes. These always project India among other countries like "unity in
diversity". Most of us never know about northern states and North Indians like vise– versa but yet we
join hands to support any sensational news created by media like Anna Hazare's corruption
movement. We never know how many languages are exiting in our country. There are about 28
states each have its own language, tradition, culture but inspite of these differences India still

Unity
A very good morning I bid to the panel of honourable judges, dedicated teachers, my fellow
competitors last but not least beloved audience. Where there is unity there is always victory. Well,
we all know about the story "Three Musketeers" which is a classic English novel written by
Alexander Dumas. D'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis are always united facing the challenges
in their lives. When Cardinal Richelieu's guards appear to arrest d'Artagnan and the three musketeers,
the four men win the battle that follows even though they are outnumbered. The reason for their
success was that they were united according to their famous motto "All for one and one for all."
This brings me to my topic today that is "1 MALAYSIA" which portrays...show more content...

Reflection About Unity
How I learned the Importance of Unity Every time I go on social media, I notice that the country
I live in is slowly becoming more and more divided. In a country where innocent Black lives are
taken by those who promised them living rights, where Muslims are labeled as terrorists, where
undocumented immigrants are threatened to be deported, where innocent lives are suffering, it
is difficult to find the light in darkness. America is a land filled with an abundance amount of
diversity with people from different races, cultures, countries, languages and religions. The only
ingredient that is missing to help society tackle these challenging times filled with hatred and
ignorance, is unity. Unity is the state of being united or joined as a whole. Unity is what makes
individuals from different backgrounds unite together to build bridges to cross over tough times.
As I've become older and wiser, I've learned that with unity and diversity of all people, the world
can morph into a more accepting society. Throughout elementary school and middle school, I was
naive in not knowing how much silence and hate there was in our country. I would never hear
about issues that our country was facing such as discrimination and racism. I was living in my own
happy bubble and not stepping outside of it to face the truth. However, when I entered high school,
reality hit me smack on the face. My dark skin color was suddenly pushed into darkness while
others were easily able to shine. My

Speech On Value Of Diversity
Diversity is defined as "a state of being different" however, the meaning extends further than just
culture and race. It is a concept which revolves around acceptance and respect. Understanding each
individual, their tradition, their belief, their uniqueness, and their importance in the community
builds up the true meaning of diversity.
The concept "Value of Diversity" refers to, understanding each other and moving beyond religion and
culture to appreciate the person's principles and their presence in the society. Valuing diversity
teaches respecting individuality while maintaining respect for others. It helps us to highlight the
contributions of various groups in making up a community. As evident from the speech by Kofi
Annan at Global Centre...show more content...
When the importance is known, no group would dominate the other to overpower it with their
morals. The most rival groups, Hindu and Muslim will also observe that 'Diwali' has the name 'Ali'
and 'Ramadan' has the name 'Ram'. The two groups will come to realize that apart there minor
differences, there are similar ideas and concepts that can bring them together, a wall of hatred and
dominance is futile. Hence, the wall must be demolished keeping all the differences apart, and
shaking their hands in the name of unity and

A Better Option Cultural Unity Essay
A Better Option Cultural Unity
Throughout human history, humankind always seeks a way to get together with others in order to
enhance the total power to solve its problems. Its problems were sometimes to build a home in a
cave, sometimes to hunt an animal or gather some foods, and sometimes protect its land from
enemies. These problems are still the main problems of humankind today. People still tend to come
together or united to solve their problems because unity always makes more sense than an
individualistic approach. Hence, people always interact with each other in order to ameliorate their
circumstances over the time. This phenomenon is called globalization that is a social process
involving creating new and multiplication of existing social networks and activities by intensifying
interaction and interdependence between agents (Steger 9). As a social affair or a phenomenon
globalization is more than a reconfiguration of the world–economies which the pressures on all
governments to open their borders for international trade (Wallerstein 93–94). Globalization is an
"inevitable" (99) and "irreversible" (100) process of human nature that requires people to live with
each other, to interact with each other and to cohabit with other to ameliorate its life quality. Cultural
unity is the best option and much more probable way to enhance the total benefit of people, who
live in a "global village" (McLuhan 31), rather than cultural diversity and cultural pluralism for three

Essay on Unity Amid Diversity
Unity Amid Diversity The 1950's and 1960's was a dawning of a new age. Many changes were
occurring within America's society. Segregation was prominent with the passing of Plessy vs.
Ferguson, however, the Jim Crow laws of the south were being challenged. Negroes in the south
wanted equality and justice. The nation was in need of an ethic of caring and a solid identity of
what it meant to be an "American." With the war in Vietnam and the war for equality, people were
fed up with all of the hate. The public cried, "Make love, not war (Tallulah)." During this time of
hardship, the Civil Rights Movement introduced us to many influential Americans that helped make
equality possible and also made everyone proud to be American. From...show more content...
Rosa Parks was a very prominent figure in the fight for civil rights along with many other respectable
African–American men and women. One of the most influential leaders of the movement was none
other than Martin Luther King, Jr. King was a nonviolent protester, preacher and organizer of the
Civil Rights Movement. He believed in nonviolent resistance to oppression and led many protests
against racism. He challenged the nation's fundamental priorities and emphasized the fact that the
civil rights laws were empty without "human rights (Cohen, Solomon)." The laws were hollow
toward those who were too poor to eat at a nice restaurant or afford a decent home. Instead of
focusing on the racial issue, King Jr. focused on bringing blacks and whites together by fighting the
gaps between rich and poor. He called for radical changes in our society to redistribute the wealth
and power. King's main point in his campaign was that "true compassion" is what this country
needed and is what he fought for.
Another immensely influential figure in the Civil Rights Movement was Malcolm X. Although his
approach was completely opposite that from Martin Luther King, Jr., the two dignified and
determined men helped each other in fighting for equality. Malcolm X had a rough life as a child.
His father was beaten and killed when he was only six years old and his mother was put into an
institution shortly there after. He dropped out of school, got into trouble frequently

Unity And Conformity
For living in a group of people who value unity and conformity, Equality is acts as an individual
when he is alone and is actually very creative. As well, growing up, his teacher told him that he was
different (and they meant that in a negative way): "There is evil in your bones, Equality 7–2521, for
your body has grown beyond the bodies of others." This implies that he was taller and perhaps even
stronger than others. Equality was naturally smarter than his fellow men, and therefore saw through
the corruptness of the society, which many others did not.

Culture is, in the words of E.B. Tylor "that complex whole which includes knowledge, belief, art,

Former Philippine President Fidel Ramos temporarily invited the U.S. back in response to China's

Unity And Diversity In America Today
Today in America, we live in a country that honors freedom, and diversity. Over the past century,
there have been many conflicts throughout the world due to nations differing views about
important issues such as freedom, economics, and a need for power. As a new nation, the United
States had to figure out where it stood and how it fit into the larger scheme of the world. As older
countries who were closer to each other geographically fought over borders and religion and
conflicting ideologies, America had an opportunity to align itself with established nations whose
way of life matched closest to what we wanted to be. The modern world we live in today, has been
shaped socially, economically, and culturally by past conflicts and wars, most

Unity And Consensus Analysis
Before trying to create and define unity and consensus, the government had to create national
projects in order to convince Americans that they need to be united. The reason being that America
did not have the best track record when it comes to tolerance and understanding. The Committee on
Public Information, Office of Facts and Figures and the Office of War Information were all created
in order to spew propaganda for the cause of unity. With the rise of fascism and communism around
the world, Americans had an utter fear and anxiety growing in which the government could use to
foster the need for consensus. Americans were told that "divide and conquer" was a Nazi strategy of
gaining power in Germany and what contributed to France's fall. Using

For centuries, globalization has increasingly knitted together the world and created unity out of
great diversity. Coca Cola, Disney and McDonald's symbolize the process, along with Sony, Shell
Oil and IBM. They are products known and consumed from Ulan Bator to Little Rock – and also
powerful companies that drive globalization forward, creating new laws, new business practices,
new ways to eat and drink, new hopes and dreams. Optimists look forward to a global village, linked
together by the Internet, and benefiting from ever–increasing material well–being. Pessimists see a
frightful corporate tyranny destroying the environment, and sweeping away all that is healthy and
meaningful to human existence. Human societies across the globe have established progressively
closer contacts over many centuries, but recently the pace has dramatically increased. Jet airplanes,
cheap telephone service, email, computers, huge oceangoing vessels, instant capital flows, all these
have made the world more interdependent than ever. Multinational corporations manufacture
products in many countries and sell to consumers around the world. Money, technology and raw
materials move ever more swiftly across national borders. Along with products and finances, ideas
and cultures circulate more freely. As a result, laws, economies, and social movements are forming at
the international level. Many politicians, academics, and journalists treat these trends as both
inevitable and (on the whole)

India Unity In Diversity In India
India is described as a country which is "a Unity is Diversity" because it is comprised of a wide
variety of individuals who belong to different religions, speak different languages, practice different
traditions, have different castes, worship different gods, wear different clothing, and eat different
foods. Although India is comprised of all these different individuals and their diverse traits and
practices, these individuals live together in peace and harmony in India.
Furthermore, the people of India are governed by one central authority and have one Prime Minister,
President, Supreme Court, and Army Chief. Hinduism is the main religion practiced in India;
however, there are followers of Buddhism, Jainism, Islam, Sikhism, Christianity, and Parsees. The
people of India practice different religions but majority of them believe in the theory of Dharma
and Karma. This theory includes salvation, rebirth, purification the soul, good for good, and bad
for bad. Furthermore, the people of India come together to celebrate festivals and cultural
celebrations. Even Indian philosophy contributes to the idea that India is "a Unity in Diversity."
There is difference in the overall conceptions of gods and ways of worshipping but Indians still
maintain the fear of heaven and hell. Many ethics groups coexist in India as well. However, within
each ethnic group, views on rituals, marriage, and castes remain the same. Also, many languages are
spoken in India, but Sanskrit still maintains

Introduction:
Diversity means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual
differences. It signifies the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio–economic
status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies which clearly
signifies"Unity in Diversity". It is the basic recognition that all the people are unique in their own
way. The differences could consist of the reading level, athletic ability, cultural background,
personality, religious beliefs, and etc; the list goes on and on. "When people value diversity, they
recognize and respect the fact that people are different and that these differences is generally a good
thing." In my point of view, the lack of cohesion between races, sexes and cultures is due to the
mistrust, stereotyping, and more within–culture conversation and language problems. Even though
people have different ideas and

Previous to the beginning of the war in Iraq the American political parties, though not working
together in perfect harmony or unison, had achieved some measure of cooperation and unity under
the idea of patriotism. However, the execution of the war in Iraq has ripped apart any ties between
the parties, as now Democrats and Republicans consistently bicker over the context and continued
growth of the war efforts. As many Democrats call for complete withdrawal from the war–torn state
and label the operation a disaster, a strong amount of Republicans still maintain the validity of the
war and the need for the United States to remain in Iraq and complete the task that was started. This
diversity amongst the politicians of America is not conducive to achieving successful results. A
more united, unified opinion amongst politicians in America would provide a much better setting
for either continued efforts in Iraq or the stopping of the war altogether. In this case, a better
balance between diversity and unity must be achieved if any form of tangible progress is to be
made. The previous examples have focused on examples with an excess of diversity and the need
for more unity in order to fix the problem, however this is not always the case within society. There
have been times at which too much unity of opinion exists and society blindly unifies for a cause

Essay Draft #3 Unity in Diversity Maya Angelou once said that "In diversity there is beauty and
there is strength." Have you ever thought how beautiful and powerful are diversities in this
world? We have lots of colors in this world, tons of people come from a different place, ages,
economics, ethnic and cultures. But before we go deeper into that, although I am pretty sure that
most of you have known what is diversity, in case some of you are still wondering what is it, I am
about to tell you then. Diversity can be defined as a variety or difference. Every human being has
their own uniqueness by which it means, we all are different, these differences like ages, and
religion as an example, can be found at any place, at home, park, or even college campuses.
Diversity on campuses will impact society by being more respectful, open–minded, and increasing
our knowledge or skills in order to make a peaceful world.
Having a different culture on campuses, like Foothill college, affects the society around them by
interacting with each other, like the society in either Los Altos Hills or Mountain View. Foothill
College is one of the best community colleges, here in the United States, located in the Los Altos
Hills, that have lots of international students coming from different part of the world. Besides native
American, there are Indonesian, Hispanic, Chinese, Japanese, Germans, Russian, African, and a lot
more. Being exposed

Unity and Diversity of Islamic Civilization
Set in the Fourteenth century in different regions of Africa and Asia, The Adventures of Ibn
Battuta presents a precise representation of Ibn Battuta's rihla , exemplifying a clear distinction
between the different countries and regions he visited. Ibn Battuta began his journey by setting
off from his home Tangier, Morocco to Mecca. "I braced my resolution to quit all my dear ones,
female and male, and forsook my home as birds forsake their nests" (Dunn 69), as the much older
Ibn Battuta wrote in his book of travels. During his travels by foot, donkey, camel and boat Ibn
Battuta had visited almost all of the known Islamic world and more to pursue his ambition for
knowledge and experience. This...show more content...
Ross Dunn describes Ibn Battuta's final stage of this journey as he must enter into a state of
holiness, called ihram . "Here male pilgrims took off their traveling clothes, washed themselves,
prayed, and finally donned the special garment, also called ihram" (Dunn 115). Everyone who was
performing hajj on that day were also wearing their ihram, symbolizing the equality of all the men
before God. As Ibn Battuta's travels continue he is supported many times by the helping hand of
Muslims and Muslim rulers. For example, early in his travels Ibn Battuta arrived at Constantine
which was the largest city in the interior of the Eastern Maghrib, although he did not stay there for
long. He has little memory about this journey, except one memorable fact, that he made the
acquaintance of the Governor of the city of Constantine, "the governor presented him with a gift of
alms, the first of many presents he would receive from kings and governors during the course of
his travels" (Dunn 74). Sharing one's material wealth with an adventurer was one of the five sacred
pillars of Islam . During Ibn Battuta's next several years he didn't not have to worry about his
welfare because of the pious individuals who were moved to perform these acts of kindness.
Even though the Muslims population made up most of the Dar al–Islam, and while the fundamental
practices of Islam where reflected by the people's values and

Unity And Diversity Essay

  • 1. The United States of America is infamous for being a melting pot of different cultures and ethnicities. The diversity in America is great and in theory is an amazing asset to this nation. However, as a society we tend to allow our differences to segregate us and alienate those who are different. By not embracing the diversity among us, many complications are created. For instance, as a result of an inability to respect other cultures, prejudice, discrimination, and tragic violence often occur. People begin to fight with others for the sole reason that they do not hold all the same beliefs. Also, as a result of the difficulties associated with poor acceptance of cultural diversity, communication becomes muddled and misunderstandings become prevalent, creating a society where different peoples are unable to communicate with each other affectively. The way to combat these problems lies in cultural competency. Cultural competency is an understanding that everyone is different while also encouraging respect and tolerance of these varying cultures. As exemplified by the nursing profession, cultural competency benefits all and has the potential to create a more just society for the common good. In nursing, an intolerance of different peoples can mean the difference between survival and death, just as it can for greater society, both literally and figuratively. As encapsulated by the nursing profession, an application of cultural competency creates a society where our Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Makar, the traditional Indian culture is defined by relatively strict social hierarchy. He also mentions that from an early age, children are reminded of their roles and places in society. This is reinforced by the fact that many believe gods and spirits have integral and functional role in determining their life. Several differences such as religion divide culture. However, far more powerful division is the traditional Hindu bifurcation into non–polluting and polluting occupations. Strict social taboos have governed these groups for thousands of years. In recent years, particularly in cities, some of these lines have blurred and sometimes even disappeared. Nuclear family is becoming central to Indian culture. Important family relations extend to as far as gotra, the mainly patrilinear lineage or clan assigned to a Hindu at birth. In rural areas it is common that three or four generations of the family live under the same roof. Patriarch often resolves family issues. Among developing countries, India has low levels of occupational and geographic mobility. People choose same occupations as their parents and rarely move geographically in the society. Family: India for ages has had a prevailing tradition of the joint family system. It's a system under which even extended members of a family like one's parents, children, the children's spouses and their offspring, etc. live together. The Get more content on HelpWriting.net

We all know that India is not only known for technology industries but also because of it's variety of people, numerous languages, multiple customs and traditions; different races with different faces and marvelous landscapes. These always project India among other countries like "unity in diversity". Most of us never know about northern states and North Indians like vise– versa but yet we join hands to support any sensational news created by media like Anna Hazare's corruption movement. We never know how many languages are exiting in our country. • 5. Unity A very good morning I bid to the panel of honourable judges, dedicated teachers, my fellow competitors last but not least beloved audience. Where there is unity there is always victory. Well, we all know about the story "Three Musketeers" which is a classic English novel written by Alexander Dumas. D'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis are always united facing the challenges in their lives. When Cardinal Richelieu's guards appear to arrest d'Artagnan and the three musketeers, the four men win the battle that follows even though they are outnumbered. The reason for their success was that they were united according to their famous motto "All for one and one for all." • 6. Reflection About Unity How I learned the Importance of Unity Every time I go on social media, I notice that the country I live in is slowly becoming more and more divided. In a country where innocent Black lives are taken by those who promised them living rights, where Muslims are labeled as terrorists, where undocumented immigrants are threatened to be deported, where innocent lives are suffering, it is difficult to find the light in darkness. America is a land filled with an abundance amount of diversity with people from different races, cultures, countries, languages and religions. The only ingredient that is missing to help society tackle these challenging times filled with hatred and ignorance, is unity. Unity is the state of being united or joined as a whole. Unity is what makes individuals from different backgrounds unite together to build bridges to cross over tough times. As I've become older and wiser, I've learned that with unity and diversity of all people, the world can morph into a more accepting society. Throughout elementary school and middle school, I was naive in not knowing how much silence and hate there was in our country. I would never hear about issues that our country was facing such as discrimination and racism. I was living in my own happy bubble and not stepping outside of it to face the truth. However, when I entered high school, reality hit me smack on the face. My dark skin color was suddenly pushed into darkness while others were easily able to shine. It is a concept which revolves around acceptance and respect. The concept "Value of Diversity" refers to, understanding each other and moving beyond religion and culture to appreciate the person's principles and their presence in the society. • 8. A Better Option Cultural Unity Essay A Better Option Cultural Unity Throughout human history, humankind always seeks a way to get together with others in order to enhance the total power to solve its problems. Its problems were sometimes to build a home in a cave, sometimes to hunt an animal or gather some foods, and sometimes protect its land from enemies. These problems are still the main problems of humankind today. People still tend to come together or united to solve their problems because unity always makes more sense than an individualistic approach. Hence, people always interact with each other in order to ameliorate their circumstances over the time. This phenomenon is called globalization that is a social process involving creating new and multiplication of existing social networks and activities by intensifying interaction and interdependence between agents (Steger 9). As a social affair or a phenomenon globalization is more than a reconfiguration of the world–economies which the pressures on all governments to open their borders for international trade (Wallerstein 93–94). Globalization is an "inevitable" (99) and "irreversible" (100) process of human nature that requires people to live with each other, to interact with each other and to cohabit with other to ameliorate its life quality. Cultural unity is the best option and much more probable way to enhance the total benefit of people, who live in a "global village" (McLuhan 31), rather than cultural diversity and cultural pluralism for three Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Segregation was prominent with the passing of Plessy vs. Ferguson, however, the Jim Crow laws of the south were being challenged. Negroes in the south wanted equality and justice. The nation was in need of an ethic of caring and a solid identity of what it meant to be an "American." With the war in Vietnam and the war for equality, people were fed up with all of the hate. The public cried, "Make love, not war (Tallulah)." During this time of hardship, the Civil Rights Movement introduced us to many influential Americans that helped make equality possible and also made everyone proud to be American. One of the most influential leaders of the movement was none other than Martin Luther King, Jr. King was a nonviolent protester, preacher and organizer of the Civil Rights Movement. He believed in nonviolent resistance to oppression and led many protests against racism. He challenged the nation's fundamental priorities and emphasized the fact that the civil rights laws were empty without "human rights (Cohen, Solomon)." The laws were hollow toward those who were too poor to eat at a nice restaurant or afford a decent home. Instead of focusing on the racial issue, King Jr. focused on bringing blacks and whites together by fighting the gaps between rich and poor. He called for radical changes in our society to redistribute the wealth and power. King's main point in his campaign was that "true compassion" is what this country needed and is what he fought for. Another immensely influential figure in the Civil Rights Movement was Malcolm X. Although his approach was completely opposite that from Martin Luther King, Jr., the two dignified and determined men helped each other in fighting for equality. Malcolm X had a rough life as a child. His father was beaten and killed when he was only six years old and his mother was put into an institution shortly there after. As older countries who were closer to each other geographically fought over borders and religion and conflicting ideologies, America had an opportunity to align itself with established nations whose way of life matched closest to what we wanted to be. • 16. For centuries, globalization has increasingly knitted together the world and created unity out of great diversity. Coca Cola, Disney and McDonald's symbolize the process, along with Sony, Shell Oil and IBM. They are products known and consumed from Ulan Bator to Little Rock – and also powerful companies that drive globalization forward, creating new laws, new business practices, new ways to eat and drink, new hopes and dreams. Optimists look forward to a global village, linked together by the Internet, and benefiting from ever–increasing material well–being. Pessimists see a frightful corporate tyranny destroying the environment, and sweeping away all that is healthy and meaningful to human existence. Human societies across the globe have established progressively closer contacts over many centuries, but recently the pace has dramatically increased. Jet airplanes, cheap telephone service, email, computers, huge oceangoing vessels, instant capital flows, all these have made the world more interdependent than ever. Multinational corporations manufacture products in many countries and sell to consumers around the world. Money, technology and raw materials move ever more swiftly across national borders. India Unity In Diversity In India India is described as a country which is "a Unity is Diversity" because it is comprised of a wide variety of individuals who belong to different religions, speak different languages, practice different traditions, have different castes, worship different gods, wear different clothing, and eat different foods. Although India is comprised of all these different individuals and their diverse traits and practices, these individuals live together in peace and harmony in India. Furthermore, the people of India are governed by one central authority and have one Prime Minister, President, Supreme Court, and Army Chief. Hinduism is the main religion practiced in India; however, there are followers of Buddhism, Jainism, Islam, Sikhism, Christianity, and Parsees. The people of India practice different religions but majority of them believe in the theory of Dharma and Karma. This theory includes salvation, rebirth, purification the soul, good for good, and bad for bad. Furthermore, the people of India come together to celebrate festivals and cultural celebrations. Even Indian philosophy contributes to the idea that India is "a Unity in Diversity." There is difference in the overall conceptions of gods and ways of worshipping but Indians still maintain the fear of heaven and hell. Many ethics groups coexist in India as well. The statement strongly clarifies the importance of diversity in order to change the world. Diversity means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. It signifies the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio–economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies which clearly signifies"Unity in Diversity". Introduction: Diversity means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. It signifies the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio–economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies which clearly signifies"Unity in Diversity". It is the basic recognition that all the people are unique in their own way. The differences could consist of the reading level, athletic ability, cultural background, personality, religious beliefs, and etc; the list goes on and on. "When people value diversity, they recognize and respect the fact that people are different and that these differences is generally a good thing." In my point of view, the lack of cohesion between races, sexes and cultures is due to the mistrust, stereotyping, and more within–culture conversation and language problems. Previous to the beginning of the war in Iraq the American political parties, though not working together in perfect harmony or unison, had achieved some measure of cooperation and unity under the idea of patriotism. However, the execution of the war in Iraq has ripped apart any ties between the parties, as now Democrats and Republicans consistently bicker over the context and continued growth of the war efforts. As many Democrats call for complete withdrawal from the war–torn state and label the operation a disaster, a strong amount of Republicans still maintain the validity of the war and the need for the United States to remain in Iraq and complete the task that was started. This diversity amongst the politicians of America is not conducive to achieving successful results. A more united, unified opinion amongst politicians in America would provide a much better setting for either continued efforts in Iraq or the stopping of the war altogether. In this case, a better balance between diversity and unity must be achieved if any form of tangible progress is to be made. The previous examples have focused on examples with an excess of diversity and the need for more unity in order to fix the problem, however this is not always the case within society. There have been times at which too much unity of opinion exists and society blindly unifies for a cause Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Speech On Unity In Diversity Regina Novia Tesiman ESLL 26.01 October 23, 2017 Essay Draft #3 Unity in Diversity Maya Angelou once said that "In diversity there is beauty and there is strength." Have you ever thought how beautiful and powerful are diversities in this world? We have lots of colors in this world, tons of people come from a different place, ages, economics, ethnic and cultures. But before we go deeper into that, although I am pretty sure that most of you have known what is diversity, in case some of you are still wondering what is it, I am about to tell you then. Diversity can be defined as a variety or difference.
