Reflective Essay Analysis
I went to a school called Milton Hershey School located in Hershey, PA. Milton Hershey School
is a private/boarding school. High school experiences for me included writing a research paper,
personal statement and writing about my hero. My strength in the writing program was that I
spent time on it and put in a lot of knowledge into it. Students were required to do presentations
/essays and present to the class very often. They wanted us to practice our public speaking. I would
say this is why I am very good at public speaking and speaking in general.
Our senior project consisted of researching articles on our school library and online resources that
was reliable. I gathered six articles that gave a lot of information then I went through and highlighted
the main points. Highlighting the main points helps me with my outline. In my outline I had a main
topic, three quotes and three explanations to support the quote and everything was colored
coordinated. When finding the...show more content...
I am very good at writing a flowing paper but it can become challenging making my essay not
confusing for my reader. I am an auditory/visual learner. For example, in Algebra I need my
professor to write the problem on the board and talk through the problem. One strategy that I like
to use is prewriting before I actually decide to write my final. Prewriting helps me because I can
get all my ideas/thoughts out and before I write the final I edit and get someone to pre–edit it.
Prewriting is also good because you can learn what type of writer you are and catch minor
mistakes. In order for me to write an essay or start the process I like to have enough time to get
focused and I like to put 100% into everything that I write. I get motivation from when I write
because I know I am trying my hardest and I love to see how much my hard work payed off. Writing
errors that "haunt" me is punctuation meaning not just spelling but not writing run–off

Reflective Narrative Analysis
This Reflective narrative will be based on how I tried something new and how it affected me in
my future. The reflective narrative will be based on a time, I tried to eat better. When I did this I
worked and eaten better with my Dad to accomplish this goal. When I tried this experiment I felt
that I could try more things like going to the gym to work out and going running on the track. Or
using different ways to learn in that subject in schools.I learned that trying new things could affect
the way you think on different things. I don't think that I should have ever given up on this goal, I
should have been pursuing a goal like this for the next few years to come. In my future I will keep
trying new things like this goal to help with my body

Writing Class Reflection And Analysis
I have enjoyed this class so much and have learned a lot as well. Many ideas, concepts, techniques
have stood out to me. The first thing would be how I can still apply and develop the ability to write
in preschool and kindergarten students. Many of the ideas and concepts can be simplified for
younger students to begin to build a good foundations for writing. Writing Power and POW–TREE
are great ways to get students excited about writing. They are also great ways to teach students
about how to write and to write in an effective way.
Another concept that has stood out to me is how much reading and writing relate. To learn about
writing you must read books and literature. Through reading you can learn about the art of writing,
structure of writing,

Reflective Essay: Course Analysis
Looking back at my previous essays I wrote for this course makes me to understand the progress I
have made during this semester. This course helped to develop my comprehensive writing ability.
However most importantly through this course, I experienced different kinds of essay writing and
is able to advance my critical thinking skills. It is clear to me though I have to work more on my
grammar and need to give more time to develop my MLA format reference writing. Throughout this
semester I saw myself developing as a good writer. Now I can easily identify a problem, organize
my thoughts, outline my paper and write it. I am also able to easily find errors and apply the proper
correction efficiently.
English is the most important course of all courses in college. Most of the courses given in the
university demand efficient scientific report writing skill. This course gave me the most important
knowledge and experience in essay writing. I am able to develop myself in English through this
course. Now, I know what a complete essay should contain and also able to write it all in a
structured manner. The different essay papers I wrote helped me to develop my critical thinking
ability. My information gathering and...show more content...
Prof. Baldassano class, her follow–up and the corrections she gave me on my papers made me to
understand the areas I need to work more. Through her corrections I was able to identify my
grammar problem in my papers. Even though I have good knowledge of grammar, I understood
that I need to focus more on my grammar while writing and editing my papers. I also understood I
did not give enough time and attention to the details of my MLA reference writing. Now I know
following the given reference writing style properly is one of the most important writing skills. The
course also showed me how much important it is to be careful on plagiarism while referencing

Reflective Summary And Analysis
Description: The focus of reading in EDAT 6115 this week was on utilizing student grouping to
improve achievement within the classroom. In addition, there is a focus on strategies teachers can
use to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs. When thinking about effective
instruction it is important to think about and reflect upon grouping our students and differentiating
and personalizing our instruction to meet the needs of our students. Analyze: Effective instruction
has much more to do with than just teaching a good lesson. Teachers must consider the needs of
their students and how they learn best in order to have effective instruction. There are various
models of instruction that are used to enhance learning with our students, Slavin focused on using
Carroll's model of school learning to create a model that can be changed based on need. Within the
model adapted by Slavin, there is a focus on quality of instruction, appropriate levels of instruction,
incentives, and time. Slavin (2012) argues, "For instruction to be effective, each of these four
elements must be adequate. No matter how high the quality of instruction, students will not learn a
lesson if they lack the necessary prior skills or information, if they lack the motivation, or if they
lack the time they need to learn the lesson" (Slavin, p. 214). The...show more content...
It's also one of those buzz words that people in the education world like to hear teachers use. To me,
differentiation is vital to helping our students succeed. We must offer our students accommodations
and tailor our instruction to meet their needs. I think that differentiation can be used with all student,
regardless of their ability level. Some students benefit from remediation and other benefit from
enrichment. It is our job as teachers to figure out what our students need and to accommodate to their

Team Reflective Analysis
Introduction
The reflective analysing essay is related to my individual experience while working with the team
of concept handbook. For this I have used our group concept which is "Leading" and another
concept "Organizing" to describe and explain the Concept Handbook Teams' level of effectiveness.
Teamwork is not an easy task. It is more difficult than working as an individual. In this situation,
working as a team is thought to be a powerful approach for the accomplishment of the objectives
and targets in a successful way. "A team is a small number of people with complementary abilities,
committed to a common purpose, approach and performance objectives, for which they consider to
commonly responsible" (Katzenbach & Smith, 2015)

Reflective Essay Analysis
Throughout this semester I have had my ups and downs with some assignments, it has come to my
attention that I need to work more on my writing. I personally believe one my strengths were
coming up with ideas and what to me connected to the essays, but I need to work on conveying
what I mean clearly and the flow of my writing. It would help the readers have a stronger
understanding of my points and easier to read. If I would enhance my knowledge on vocabulary it
would not only help my essays but my speech, allowing my audience to be more engaged in my
writing or talking rather than using fairly common words. After saying that I do believe this class
has challenged and improved the way I read stories. Not just reading word for word but reading in
between the lines, for example understanding satire.

Reflective Argument Analysis
Before entering class, I deemed myself a competent writer. However, I quickly discovered that my
writing involved mediocre writing precepts. In contrast to the principles of scholarly discourse, my
writing held the tenets of conversational writing and did not meet academic standards. Furthermore,
much of my poor writing involved deep–rooted habits that were humbling and challenging. Passive
voice, unneeded words, long sentences, were a few of the obstacles that impeded my journey
toward effective writing. However, using peer reviews and an editing checklist I slowly began
improving my skills as a competent writer. I also found that reading concerning writing provided
supplementary methods in improving my skills as a scholarly writer....show more content...
I now used my checklist as a regular tool in improving my writing. However, I found that my
checklist involved general statements and few specifics. My revised checklist now contained
specific examples of errors that populated my writing. Furthermore, my preparation for writing
involved examining my editing checklist before any writing began. I also removed checklist items
that I no longer found useful. For example, in my haste to assure I edited my writing; I originally
had placed proofreading every paragraph as a needed checklist item. However, I quickly found that
stopping at every paragraph was detrimental and I removed this item from the checklist. I continue
amending my checklist as I grew and matured as a

Looking back onto the three assignments I have produced in English 104 this semester, I can
proudly say I have grown. After revising my essays I have come to realize that I no longer struggle
in turning my ideas into sentences. Even though I am still struggling with commas, I hope in this
upcoming semester this would not be an issue for me anymore. This semester has allowed me to
change my writing dramatically. Before taking English 104, I was afraid that I was not going to
write as well as a college student. I feared that my writing was not going to be of high quality, since
I had trouble writing introductions and conclusions for most of my papers in High School. Because
of past experiences, I told myself that for able to change my writing,

As the very first semester of my college career is coming to a close I can't help but to look back at
how much I have grown since the beginning. Coming into college at Valdosta State I read a few
things about Freshman Learning Communities (FLC) and decided on the day of orientation to join
one. Doing this was the first best decision I had made at Valdosta State. Being in the FLC I was
placed in has taught me many things like teamwork in Documenting Student Success, speaking and
communication skills in Public Speaking and how to develop and write a paper in English.
Although all of those things are important to me one class in particular stood out to me. The English
class I was in gave us outcomes which were what was expected out of the students...show more

Reading and writing in several genres correlates with focusing on a purpose but is a different
outcome it is important because every genre has a different purpose in writing and students should
be able to effectively develop one for their paper. "Most professors and students share a few common
things such as wanting all the students to pass the class and how well the students retain the
information taught so they can get an education; those goals pertain to me because that is what I am
aiming for also. College Algebra is a very interesting class to me. To make this class different
from other core classes would not be that hard, but it would take a little more effort. The following
are criteria that would make a great general education course and would also benefit my core class.
Professors could change up their teaching techniques. The relevance of the class should relate to the
real world. The interaction between other students in the classroom would benefit the learning
environment and the communication between the professors and their students should be strong
and up front." This passage is from paper two. For this paper we had to assess how effective a
certain class was to

This chapter is about five things everyone needs to consider when writing anything, they are
purpose, audience, genre, stance and design. The chapter goes through each one of these rhetorical
devices and explains there purpose step by step. The main point that's being conveyed is to go over
these concepts when beginning to write anything. I started off reading this chapter and about two
pages in I grabbed my note book to start jotting down notes. There was no doubt in my mind that
this would serve to me as a great tool for writing down my essays in the future. It could be argued
that most of the rhetorical devices used in this chapter are common questions sense that everyone
should just know before they write, but its still wise to go

The medication guideline activity was developed to address the fact I was out of practice with
regards to pharmaceuticals, it addressed the gap in my knowledge and was an effective and
enjoyable way for me to relearn this information. My maturity has provided me with the knowledge
to understand exactly how I learn best. Writing things down repeatedly, (like drug names,
classifications, and indications) is one of those ways. Rewriting notes or typing notes into a word
document has been shown to be a good learning strategy for tactile or kinesthetic learners (Learning
Styles: Columbia College, 2016). I know that this way works well for me when it comes to having

Unfortunately is the way it goes, I have to be patient, and prepared as the opportunity will
"hopefully" soon present itself. That being the said, I still found this activity to be effective as it
drove me to seek out further opportunities to preform skills in addition to the specific skills outlined
in sub–goal 2. I am a kinetic learner, therefore I learn best by doing, and by having the opportunity
to practicing these skills, I was able to develop the necessary motor skills and confidence to
complete these skills in a level 3 ICU setting. Proficiency in the nursing skills outlined in sub–goal 2
contributes to my ability to "demonstrate effective time management and priority setting in client
care."(Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, 2016) Again this learning activity enhanced my nursing
practice by allowing me to develop my time management skills with regards to specific nursing
interventions. Nursing students that take a self–directed approach to learning not only increase
confidence in their own ability, but also their capacity to learn in new situations. (Levett–Jones,
2005) This activity contributed not only to an increase in my clinical knowledge, but it also
increased my confidence regrading my clinical practice. The learning activities for sub–goal 2
enhanced my clinical practice and knowledge foundation,

Reflective Essay: An Analysis Of 'They Say I Say'
In part one of "They Say, I Say (TSIS)," and chapter 8 of "Writing Research Papers (WRP)," the
general theme is how to properly use another's work to formulate and augment your work. I have
found that the most difficult part of writing research papers is utilizing quotes and summaries to
enhance my arguments in papers. It is difficult for me because I often misuse quotes and even
summarize the wrong things. Consequently, I confuse my audience, and weaken my argument. In
chapter one of "TSIS," the authors use a story to illustrate to the audience that the most important
thing for a writer to have is a point. This coincides with misusing quotes and summaries because they
take away from the "point" of a statement, paragraph, or paper. I have found

Reflection Of Academic Writing : Analysis
This semester was excellent! I found myself taking English 1301 for the first time. At first, I felt
overpowered the assignments assort in topics and at times, I felt unknowing of the subjects. Often
papers ranged from primitive to intricate. Before long we started off with a simple essay, then
progressed from there. Luckily, power points were provided throughout the course. The firstpaper
we wrote was about our experience in a community event. The description of the paper was
narrative, which was a light way to start the course. Moreover, we were introduced to visual rhetoric.
Based on a visual media image we used persuasive writing to decode what is being conveyed
through everyday advertisements. Visual media analysis was very fun to write and my personal
favorite. As we went on, I stumbled across literary analysis, it was the most tedious paper of them
all. Personally, it was a challenge for me to write an analysis of a short poem/speech based on only
literature. I didn't see how I would meet the seven hundred–word criteria. So, I chose an extensive
topic, politics. Consequently, it was never–ending. Finally, our research paper was a fresh breath of
air. Academic writing is of significant importance. The concept of formal writing is essential for
every college student. Prewriting is the first step I engage in before writing anything down. Usually,
I research and gather information. After I begin drafting, I put my ideas into sentences and

Reflective Essay of this Course
The English skills I am walking away from this course are very tremendous. Whether it be my
writing skills improving or just learning simple English things that I didn't have a firm grab on or I
never even learn. Being a freshman in college this has been one of my more useful English class
because of all the actual useful things we learned and there wasn't anything nonsense or nothing that
I would not use in the future.
My first essay in this class was the creed essay I got a pretty decent grade on it but it was full of
mistakes. I was not very good at proof reading when I did that essay and it showed in my paper, with
grammar problems, comma placement problems and even a few spelling mistakes. I think the one

During clinicals there was a lot going on: new employees, new residents and residents leaving. I
found clinicals completely different than being in the classroom and learning from mannequins.
However, I did find it eye opening of what a rehabilitation center is like. Personally, what I thought
was a good clinical experience was being able to spend time with the residents. I know we were
there to practice our skills and learn from experienced NAC's. But it had felt amazing knowing we
were able to spend time with the residents and make their day better. Although, I had spent quite a
bit of time with the residents, Gemma and I were able to learn a lot from our NAC's we had. Our

Description
I had a health history interview with an elderly lady in the community during transport to the city.
She was sitting on the stretcher in the back of the ambulance and I was sitting on the bench seat
at eye level with her. I remember explicitly noticing when we made eye contact because her eyes
were big and blue but also sad. We talked through all of her body systems while I was doing my
assessment. She often redirected the conversation towards her home life. She spoke of her pets and
her concerns of her husband being home without her as she was the main caregiver.
Feelings
I first felt that she was lonely, she really wanted to share her stories. She smiled and laughed when
she told them and so I felt happy...show more content...
Sometimes when she redirected the conversation I had to be aware and bring it back to her
assessment. Finding a balance between performing a quality assessment and validating all of her
thoughts and feelings was challenging. The ambulance would not cool off that day and so it was
hot. I remember her non–verbal cues were very extroverted; she always turned to fully face me
when she spoke and never moved her eyes from mine. I think this was good because it added to the
rapport.
Analysis
I think that she had been in the hospital for some time and I was a great companion. Luckily in the
ambulance we have so much one on one time during transfers. I felt as though I might have been
one of the first people to have a long conversation with her in some time. I think that the hospital
can be lonely and force people to reflect on their own lives.
Conclusion
I can conclude that even though it was a time limited interaction, it was impactful. The background
knowledge about this patient's life helped me to make better decisions about her care. If I could
have had a more even balance of health history, personal history, and physical assessment I may
have done an even better job. I think that my response was appropriate but also a little passive. I
could have been more assertive in redirecting the conversation to her

Reflective Summary And Analysis
For my first paper, "Creativity is just as important as Literacy and Math" I choose to revise my
paper from last semester which discussed the importance of creativity is just the same as literacy
importance. I enjoyed writing about this topic and felt like I did a really good job; but to improve my
writing skills I believe I can write a better paper this semester compared to last semester. I reread
my paper for starters and organized the way it was based I had written in. As well as listing the
facts and research I had supporting each topic. I added a few more facts and opinions to help
support my points made. I didn't receive enough feedback the response, "it's well–written" is too
vague which couldn't help me improve my paper in any way. I feel like my introduction and
conclusion are both strong, but i'm sure it could be stronger. I feel like the most I struggled in the
paper was the desire for it to be written so perfectly though I knew there could always be room for
improvement. This also worked as a strength due to lots of time and dedication I spent on the paper

learning into this paper which shows how I am able to tie different courses together, but as
always there is room for improvement. I received similar comments like my first paper that were too

Reflective Analysis Essay

  • 1. Reflective Essay Analysis I went to a school called Milton Hershey School located in Hershey, PA. Milton Hershey School is a private/boarding school. High school experiences for me included writing a research paper, personal statement and writing about my hero. My strength in the writing program was that I spent time on it and put in a lot of knowledge into it. Students were required to do presentations /essays and present to the class very often. They wanted us to practice our public speaking. I would say this is why I am very good at public speaking and speaking in general. Our senior project consisted of researching articles on our school library and online resources that was reliable. I gathered six articles that gave a lot of information then I went through and highlighted the main points. Highlighting the main points helps me with my outline. In my outline I had a main topic, three quotes and three explanations to support the quote and everything was colored coordinated. When finding the...show more content... I am very good at writing a flowing paper but it can become challenging making my essay not confusing for my reader. I am an auditory/visual learner. For example, in Algebra I need my professor to write the problem on the board and talk through the problem. One strategy that I like to use is prewriting before I actually decide to write my final. Prewriting helps me because I can get all my ideas/thoughts out and before I write the final I edit and get someone to pre–edit it. Prewriting is also good because you can learn what type of writer you are and catch minor mistakes. In order for me to write an essay or start the process I like to have enough time to get focused and I like to put 100% into everything that I write. I get motivation from when I write because I know I am trying my hardest and I love to see how much my hard work payed off. Writing errors that "haunt" me is punctuation meaning not just spelling but not writing run–off Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Reflective Narrative Analysis This Reflective narrative will be based on how I tried something new and how it affected me in my future. The reflective narrative will be based on a time, I tried to eat better. When I did this I worked and eaten better with my Dad to accomplish this goal. When I tried this experiment I felt that I could try more things like going to the gym to work out and going running on the track. Or using different ways to learn in that subject in schools.I learned that trying new things could affect the way you think on different things. I don't think that I should have ever given up on this goal, I should have been pursuing a goal like this for the next few years to come. In my future I will keep trying new things like this goal to help with my body Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Writing Class Reflection And Analysis I have enjoyed this class so much and have learned a lot as well. Many ideas, concepts, techniques have stood out to me. The first thing would be how I can still apply and develop the ability to write in preschool and kindergarten students. Many of the ideas and concepts can be simplified for younger students to begin to build a good foundations for writing. Writing Power and POW–TREE are great ways to get students excited about writing. They are also great ways to teach students about how to write and to write in an effective way. Another concept that has stood out to me is how much reading and writing relate. To learn about writing you must read books and literature. Through reading you can learn about the art of writing, structure of writing, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Reflective Essay: Course Analysis Looking back at my previous essays I wrote for this course makes me to understand the progress I have made during this semester. This course helped to develop my comprehensive writing ability. However most importantly through this course, I experienced different kinds of essay writing and is able to advance my critical thinking skills. It is clear to me though I have to work more on my grammar and need to give more time to develop my MLA format reference writing. Throughout this semester I saw myself developing as a good writer. Now I can easily identify a problem, organize my thoughts, outline my paper and write it. I am also able to easily find errors and apply the proper correction efficiently. English is the most important course of all courses in college. Most of the courses given in the university demand efficient scientific report writing skill. This course gave me the most important knowledge and experience in essay writing. I am able to develop myself in English through this course. Now, I know what a complete essay should contain and also able to write it all in a structured manner. The different essay papers I wrote helped me to develop my critical thinking ability. My information gathering and...show more content... Prof. Baldassano class, her follow–up and the corrections she gave me on my papers made me to understand the areas I need to work more. Through her corrections I was able to identify my grammar problem in my papers. Even though I have good knowledge of grammar, I understood that I need to focus more on my grammar while writing and editing my papers. I also understood I did not give enough time and attention to the details of my MLA reference writing. Now I know following the given reference writing style properly is one of the most important writing skills. The course also showed me how much important it is to be careful on plagiarism while referencing other people work or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Reflective Summary And Analysis Description: The focus of reading in EDAT 6115 this week was on utilizing student grouping to improve achievement within the classroom. In addition, there is a focus on strategies teachers can use to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs. When thinking about effective instruction it is important to think about and reflect upon grouping our students and differentiating and personalizing our instruction to meet the needs of our students. Analyze: Effective instruction has much more to do with than just teaching a good lesson. Teachers must consider the needs of their students and how they learn best in order to have effective instruction. There are various models of instruction that are used to enhance learning with our students, Slavin focused on using Carroll's model of school learning to create a model that can be changed based on need. Within the model adapted by Slavin, there is a focus on quality of instruction, appropriate levels of instruction, incentives, and time. Slavin (2012) argues, "For instruction to be effective, each of these four elements must be adequate. No matter how high the quality of instruction, students will not learn a lesson if they lack the necessary prior skills or information, if they lack the motivation, or if they lack the time they need to learn the lesson" (Slavin, p. 214). We must offer our students accommodations and tailor our instruction to meet their needs. I think that differentiation can be used with all student, regardless of their ability level. Some students benefit from remediation and other benefit from enrichment. It is our job as teachers to figure out what our students need and to accommodate to their Get more content on HelpWriting.net

For this I have used our group concept which is "Leading" and another concept "Organizing" to describe and explain the Concept Handbook Teams' level of effectiveness. Teamwork is not an easy task. It is more difficult than working as an individual. In this situation, working as a team is thought to be a powerful approach for the accomplishment of the objectives and targets in a successful way. • 7. Reflective Essay Analysis Throughout this semester I have had my ups and downs with some assignments, it has come to my attention that I need to work more on my writing. I personally believe one my strengths were coming up with ideas and what to me connected to the essays, but I need to work on conveying what I mean clearly and the flow of my writing. It would help the readers have a stronger understanding of my points and easier to read. If I would enhance my knowledge on vocabulary it would not only help my essays but my speech, allowing my audience to be more engaged in my writing or talking rather than using fairly common words. After saying that I do believe this class has challenged and improved the way I read stories. Not just reading word for word but reading in between the lines, for example understanding satire. • 8. Reflective Argument Analysis Before entering class, I deemed myself a competent writer. However, I quickly discovered that my writing involved mediocre writing precepts. In contrast to the principles of scholarly discourse, my writing held the tenets of conversational writing and did not meet academic standards. Furthermore, much of my poor writing involved deep–rooted habits that were humbling and challenging. Passive voice, unneeded words, long sentences, were a few of the obstacles that impeded my journey toward effective writing. However, using peer reviews and an editing checklist I slowly began improving my skills as a competent writer. I also found that reading concerning writing provided supplementary methods in improving my skills as a scholarly writer....show more content... I now used my checklist as a regular tool in improving my writing. However, I found that my checklist involved general statements and few specifics. My revised checklist now contained specific examples of errors that populated my writing. Furthermore, my preparation for writing involved examining my editing checklist before any writing began. I also removed checklist items that I no longer found useful. For example, in my haste to assure I edited my writing; I originally had placed proofreading every paragraph as a needed checklist item. However, I quickly found that stopping at every paragraph was detrimental and I removed this item from the checklist. • 9. Sample Reflective Analysis Looking back onto the three assignments I have produced in English 104 this semester, I can proudly say I have grown. After revising my essays I have come to realize that I no longer struggle in turning my ideas into sentences. Even though I am still struggling with commas, I hope in this upcoming semester this would not be an issue for me anymore. This semester has allowed me to change my writing dramatically. Before taking English 104, I was afraid that I was not going to write as well as a college student. I feared that my writing was not going to be of high quality, since I had trouble writing introductions and conclusions for most of my papers in High School. Because of past experiences, I told myself that for able to change my writing, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Self Reflective Analysis As the very first semester of my college career is coming to a close I can't help but to look back at how much I have grown since the beginning. Coming into college at Valdosta State I read a few things about Freshman Learning Communities (FLC) and decided on the day of orientation to join one. Doing this was the first best decision I had made at Valdosta State. Being in the FLC I was placed in has taught me many things like teamwork in Documenting Student Success, speaking and communication skills in Public Speaking and how to develop and write a paper in English. Although all of those things are important to me one class in particular stood out to me. Reading and writing in several genres correlates with focusing on a purpose but is a different outcome it is important because every genre has a different purpose in writing and students should be able to effectively develop one for their paper. "Most professors and students share a few common things such as wanting all the students to pass the class and how well the students retain the information taught so they can get an education; those goals pertain to me because that is what I am aiming for also. College Algebra is a very interesting class to me. To make this class different from other core classes would not be that hard, but it would take a little more effort. The following are criteria that would make a great general education course and would also benefit my core class. Professors could change up their teaching techniques. The relevance of the class should relate to the real world. The interaction between other students in the classroom would benefit the learning environment and the communication between the professors and their students should be strong and up front." • 13. This chapter is about five things everyone needs to consider when writing anything, they are purpose, audience, genre, stance and design. The chapter goes through each one of these rhetorical devices and explains there purpose step by step. The main point that's being conveyed is to go over these concepts when beginning to write anything. I started off reading this chapter and about two pages in I grabbed my note book to start jotting down notes. There was no doubt in my mind that this would serve to me as a great tool for writing down my essays in the future. It could be argued that most of the rhetorical devices used in this chapter are common questions sense that everyone should just know before they write, but its still wise to go Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Reflective Analysis The medication guideline activity was developed to address the fact I was out of practice with regards to pharmaceuticals, it addressed the gap in my knowledge and was an effective and enjoyable way for me to relearn this information. My maturity has provided me with the knowledge to understand exactly how I learn best. Writing things down repeatedly, (like drug names, classifications, and indications) is one of those ways. Rewriting notes or typing notes into a word document has been shown to be a good learning strategy for tactile or kinesthetic learners (Learning Styles: Columbia College, 2016). Unfortunately is the way it goes, I have to be patient, and prepared as the opportunity will "hopefully" soon present itself. That being the said, I still found this activity to be effective as it drove me to seek out further opportunities to preform skills in addition to the specific skills outlined in sub–goal 2. I am a kinetic learner, therefore I learn best by doing, and by having the opportunity to practicing these skills, I was able to develop the necessary motor skills and confidence to complete these skills in a level 3 ICU setting. Proficiency in the nursing skills outlined in sub–goal 2 contributes to my ability to "demonstrate effective time management and priority setting in client care."(Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, 2016) Again this learning activity enhanced my nursing practice by allowing me to develop my time management skills with regards to specific nursing interventions. Nursing students that take a self–directed approach to learning not only increase confidence in their own ability, but also their capacity to learn in new situations. (Levett–Jones, 2005) This activity contributed not only to an increase in my clinical knowledge, but it also increased my confidence regrading my clinical practice. • 15. Reflective Essay: An Analysis Of 'They Say I Say' In part one of "They Say, I Say (TSIS)," and chapter 8 of "Writing Research Papers (WRP)," the general theme is how to properly use another's work to formulate and augment your work. I have found that the most difficult part of writing research papers is utilizing quotes and summaries to enhance my arguments in papers. It is difficult for me because I often misuse quotes and even summarize the wrong things. Consequently, I confuse my audience, and weaken my argument. In chapter one of "TSIS," the authors use a story to illustrate to the audience that the most important thing for a writer to have is a point. This coincides with misusing quotes and summaries because they take away from the "point" of a statement, paragraph, or paper. I have found Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Reflection Of Academic Writing : Analysis This semester was excellent! I found myself taking English 1301 for the first time. At first, I felt overpowered the assignments assort in topics and at times, I felt unknowing of the subjects. Often papers ranged from primitive to intricate. Before long we started off with a simple essay, then progressed from there. Luckily, power points were provided throughout the course. The firstpaper we wrote was about our experience in a community event. The description of the paper was narrative, which was a light way to start the course. Moreover, we were introduced to visual rhetoric. Based on a visual media image we used persuasive writing to decode what is being conveyed through everyday advertisements. Visual media analysis was very fun to write and my personal favorite. As we went on, I stumbled across literary analysis, it was the most tedious paper of them all. Personally, it was a challenge for me to write an analysis of a short poem/speech based on only literature. I didn't see how I would meet the seven hundred–word criteria. So, I chose an extensive topic, politics. Consequently, it was never–ending. Finally, our research paper was a fresh breath of air. Academic writing is of significant importance. The concept of formal writing is essential for every college student. Prewriting is the first step I engage in before writing anything down. Usually, I research and gather information. After I begin drafting, I put my ideas into sentences and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Reflective Essay: Course Analysis Reflective Essay of this Course The English skills I am walking away from this course are very tremendous. Whether it be my writing skills improving or just learning simple English things that I didn't have a firm grab on or I never even learn. Being a freshman in college this has been one of my more useful English class because of all the actual useful things we learned and there wasn't anything nonsense or nothing that I would not use in the future. My first essay in this class was the creed essay I got a pretty decent grade on it but it was full of mistakes. I was not very good at proof reading when I did that essay and it showed in my paper, with grammar problems, comma placement problems and even a few spelling mistakes. I found clinicals completely different than being in the classroom and learning from mannequins. However, I did find it eye opening of what a rehabilitation center is like. Personally, what I thought was a good clinical experience was being able to spend time with the residents. I know we were there to practice our skills and learn from experienced NAC's. But it had felt amazing knowing we were able to spend time with the residents and make their day better. Although, I had spent quite a bit of time with the residents, Gemma and I were able to learn a lot from our NAC's we had. • 19. Reflective Journal Analysis Reflective Journal Description I had a health history interview with an elderly lady in the community during transport to the city. She was sitting on the stretcher in the back of the ambulance and I was sitting on the bench seat at eye level with her. I remember explicitly noticing when we made eye contact because her eyes were big and blue but also sad. We talked through all of her body systems while I was doing my assessment. She often redirected the conversation towards her home life. She spoke of her pets and her concerns of her husband being home without her as she was the main caregiver. Feelings I first felt that she was lonely, she really wanted to share her stories. She smiled and laughed when she told them and so I felt happy...show more content... Sometimes when she redirected the conversation I had to be aware and bring it back to her assessment. Finding a balance between performing a quality assessment and validating all of her thoughts and feelings was challenging. The ambulance would not cool off that day and so it was hot. I remember her non–verbal cues were very extroverted; she always turned to fully face me when she spoke and never moved her eyes from mine. I think this was good because it added to the rapport. Analysis I think that she had been in the hospital for some time and I was a great companion. Luckily in the ambulance we have so much one on one time during transfers. I felt as though I might have been one of the first people to have a long conversation with her in some time. I think that the hospital can be lonely and force people to reflect on their own lives. Conclusion I can conclude that even though it was a time limited interaction, it was impactful. The background knowledge about this patient's life helped me to make better decisions about her care. If I could have had a more even balance of health history, personal history, and physical assessment I may have done an even better job. I think that my response was appropriate but also a little passive. I could have been more assertive in redirecting the conversation to her Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Reflective Summary And Analysis For my first paper, "Creativity is just as important as Literacy and Math" I choose to revise my paper from last semester which discussed the importance of creativity is just the same as literacy importance. I enjoyed writing about this topic and felt like I did a really good job; but to improve my writing skills I believe I can write a better paper this semester compared to last semester. I reread my paper for starters and organized the way it was based I had written in. As well as listing the facts and research I had supporting each topic. I added a few more facts and opinions to help support my points made. I didn't receive enough feedback the response, "it's well–written" is too vague which couldn't help me improve my paper in any way. I feel like my introduction and conclusion are both strong, but i'm sure it could be stronger. I feel like the most I struggled in the paper was the desire for it to be written so perfectly though I knew there could always be room for improvement. This also worked as a strength due to lots of time and dedication I spent on the paper both last and this semester....show more content...
