2. INTRODUCTION
Habib Bank Limited was the first commercial bank to
be established in Pakistan, in 1947. Its head office is
situated in Karachi. Over the years, HBL has grown
its branches and become the largest private sector
bank with over 1500 branches and 1400 ATM's
across the country and a customer base exceeding
five million relationships.

• HBL has computerized accounting system since
2004.
• Approximately there are 20,000 users of
accounting system.
• There are computerized data backup systems.
• They have simple and easy accounting system
which is easy to use.

• Cheques
• Deposit slip.
• Vouchers.
• Invoices.
• For payroll and fixed assets, there are
computerized files.
9. FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
• They are prepared by 35C software which
records daily data.
• Financial statements are prepared
semiannually.
• JRC command is used data is recorded of
individual person.
• A team of external audit is hired for the audit of
accounts

11. CONCLUSION
“From all the data collected, interviews,
exploring internet and visiting bank, it is
concluded that HBL is progressing rapidly and is
one of the leading bank in Pakistan. The
environment and atmosphere was good. They
treated us very well and willingly. We observed,
they treat their customers very nicely and
politely. They have good and effective
management. Their accounting system was also
maintained very well. Thus, this project helped
us in improving our skills and knowledge about
the accounting system.”
