VILLAINS IN LEGENDS
    FROM ÁVILA
    IES Alonso de Madrigal
The Moors
Who were the Moors?
 Between the years 711 and 726 the
    moors conquered all the Iberian
peninsula and some part of France .
Reconquer of Christians
 In the century XI Raimundo the

  Borgoña was the responsible of
the repopulation of the center of
  the peninsula.
 With the purpose of protecting
  Toledo the cities of Avila,
  Salamanca and Segovia were
  surrounded ordered by the king
  Alfonso
 VI.
Why are they villains?
 Because when all men were out at
Menga Pass the Moors decided to
  attack the town.
 They thought that it will be easy but

when they went to Avila they saw a lot
of soldiers defending the wall. So they
  withdrew and Avila was saved.
Jimena Blazquez
 But what they didn’t know is that
    these soldiers weren’t soldiers, they
    were women cheered by Jimena
    Blazquez to defend the city.
Characters:

                                          Nalvillos
Al Mamún
(The Moorish
King in Talavera)

                    Jezmin
  Aja Galiana
                               Urraca
                             (Daughter of the
                              Castilian King)
Where did the legend happen?
 Aja lived in Toledo.
 She came to Ávila on a horse because
she was a present for the Castilian’s King.

 Then, Aja went to Galicia with Nalvillos, Urraca…
 When Nalvillos and Aja got married, they returned
    to Ávila.
 Nalvillos went to fight against the Moors to
    Talavera.
What happened?
 Nalvillos was going to marry Arias Galinda, but
Nalvillos saw Aja, and he fell in love with her
but she was afiancée with Jezmín, finally, they
    got married.

 Arias Galinda got married with Nalvillos’
brother and Jezmín hated Nalvillos because he
    was jealous.
 Nalvillos and Jezmín fought because Nalvillos
heard that Jezmín lied to him.
 Nalvillos won and Jezmín left the village
    frustrated.
 Because of that, Aja was sad all the nights.
 Nalvillos went to fight against the Moors to
    Talavera.

 When he returned, Aja was not in
his palace. She was in Jezmín’s
    palace.

 He invented a plan with his soldiers
to enter in Jezmín’s palace and meet Aja.
Who are the villains?
Aja Galiana
 Aja was a villain because she kept her secret
    love for Jezmín.
 Nalvillos went to fight against the moors far
away from Avila, and during this time Aja fled
with Jezmín, and she was unfaithful to
    Nalvillos.
Jezmín Yahia
 Jezmín was so jealous that he started a false
friendship with Nalvillos to take Aja with him.
 When Nalvillos discovered that lie, he went to
    fight against Jezmín…
 …Nalvillos won; because of that, Aja was
    sad.
 They made the most of time when Nalvillos
was far away fighting to go together.
 When Nalvillos returned and discovered it, he
went to get her back and Jezmín made him
    prisoner.
Final Situation
 At the end, Aja and Jezmín died in a bonfire
and Nalvillos saved his life thanks to his army
that made a plan to save him.
THE
END.
 By: Laura G. and Carmen.
