2. AA Endurance Championship for Teams 2011
5. Qualification Practices (details laid down in the SR):
a) The times of the qualification practices of the participating riders will be taken into account, if there
is held a special qualification for the endurance race.
b) The times of the first AA qualification practice (AA SStk 600,SSp, SStk 1000 and SBK) of the
participating riders will be taken into account.
The practice time of the fastest rider of the team must not be higher than 120 % of the best time of the
resp. class. In case of force majeure, preventing a rider to reach the necessary time (weather
conditions, technical problems), the jury can vary these conditions on proposal of the clerk of the
nd rd
course. If a tie exists, the time of the 2 /3 rider will be taken into account.
6. Starting grid
The starting grid follows the qualification results and will be held acc. the “Le Mans”-procedure. The
riders wait on the opposite side of the pit wall, with one leg on the white line along the track, where
one mechanic holds the bike. No tyre warmers are allowed, only the rider must start the engine.
7. Starting procedure
15 minutes before the start of the race the pit lane exit will be opened for a mandatory sighting lap.
At the exit, boards will be shown, signalling the time from 5 to 1 minute before the exit will be closed. If
the pit lane is used between sighting laps, it is allowed to make more than one sighting lap. It is also
allowed to make modifications, tyre changes or tank stops during this time. 5 minutes before the start
of the race, the pit lane exit will be closed. Riders, who cannot participate in the sighting lap, can start
their warm-up lap from the pit lane with one StopGo penalty. Riders facing technical problems during
their warm-up lap may return to the pit lane to make further adjustments or change their motorcycle.
When the riders return to the starting grid after the warm-up lap, they park their motorcycles along the
pitwall, where the resp. position is indicated and wait on the opposite side of the starting straight. The
starter waits at the pitwall. By waving the national flag and crossing the starting straight, he gives the
starting signal. From this time on, the riders are allowed to cross the starting straight, to start their
engines and to join the race. As anticipation of the start all attempts of the riders will be regarded to
cross the starting straight before the starter does so. Riders, who cannot participate in the Warm Up
lap, can start the race from the pit lane with one StopGo penalty.
8. Change of riders
The number of changes of the riders is free, but a minimum of participance in 5 timed laps must be
given. One rider cannot ride for a longer period than 3 hours minus 5 laps. If a team consists of more
than one motorcycle, the transponder of the team must be changed in the pit lane and must be fixed to
the bike. During all practices and races, only one motorcycle per team may be used on the racetrack
except during a qualifying as mentioned under lit. 5 b).
9. Safety Car
If unforeseen reasons make it necessary, the clerk of the course may use a minimum of one safety car
to neutralize the race. From this decision onwards, the marshals wave yellow flags around the whole
track and present signs “Safety Car”. Overtaking from now on is strictly forbidden, all riders line up in a
single file behind the safety car(s), equipped with yellow flashing lights on the roof and at the back of
the car(s). As long as the riders follow the safety car, all laps will be counted, the pit lane exit will be
open only for 15 seconds after the safety car(s) has passed the red light at the pit lane exit, where
riders coming from the pits have to line up in a single file. When the clerk of the course finishes the
neutralized phase, the safety car(s) leaves the race track and all marshals stop to display the signs
“Safety Car”. From this time on, overtaking for those riders, who have crossed the starting line after
the leaving of the safety car, is allowed.
10. Safety Conditions
Refuelling: Refuelling is only allowed when the engine is stopped, during the refuelling, no other
adjustments or repairs may be done. Only closed containers may be used. A maximum of 25 liters per
container must be kept, only one single person may handle this container. Stationary fixed devices or
such using pneumatic air are strictly forbidden. Each team must have ready a fire extinguisher of min.
6 liters at all refuelling times. The refuelling and the ventilation of a tank must be done using the same
refiller.
Stopped Motorcycles: Stopped motorcycles, not able to reach the pit lane by their own force, may not
be returned to the teams operating them except to a specified place at the pit-lane entrance. After
falls, all motorcycles must be inspected by the scrutineers of the event in the scrutineering area before
a further use may be authorised. A protest against the duration between picking up a bike and the
deliverance to the pit-lane entrance will not be admissible.
