1. PLANNING INFORMATION
1.A. Effectivity
Dynamic assemblies, all part numbers and all dash numbers:
- Main rotor head
- Main rotor mast
- Main gearbox
- Engine-to-MGB coupling
- Tail rotor drive
- Tail gearbox.
1.B. Reason
To prevent deterioration of dynamic assemblies due to corrosion.
Edition 1 of this Service Bulletin:
- Deletes the time limit of "less than 1,500 flight hours in 12 years".
- Prescribes compliance with this Service Bulletin for dynamic assemblies
that have logged 12 operating years in standard operating conditions,
then every 6 years irrespective of the number of flight hours logged,
providing they have not undergone any inspection (as part of an overhaul
or an on-condition maintenance task) during this period.
- Prescribes compliance with this Service Bulletin for dynamic assemblies
that have logged 8 operating years in salt-laden atmosphere or humid and
tropical conditions, then every 4 years irrespective of the number of
flight hours logged, providing they have not undergone any inspection (as
part of an overhaul or an on-condition maintenance task) during this
period.
- Updates the layout of this Service Bulletin.
- Creates the page P5 “List of effective pages”.
NOTE 1: Edition 1 supersedes the original Edition 0 of Service Bulletin
05.00.22 and its Revision 1.
NOTE 2: Definition of aircraft operating conditions in:
- Salt-laden atmosphere:
Aircraft operated in the following conditions: Aircraft based
aboard ship or aircraft operated less than 1 km from the
shoreline or over the sea at low altitude (below 1,000 ft) for
more than 50% of their total operating time.

- Humid and tropical atmosphere:
Aircraft based or operated more than 20% of their total operating
time in the following conditions: combination of high ambient
temperatures (+28°C and above) and high relative humidity (75%
and above) in subtropical and tropical zones (any region between
latitude 40° north and latitude 40° south).
Reason for Revision 1 of Edition 1:
Revision 1 of Edition 1 of this Service Bulletin informs that this
Service Bulletin is no longer applicable following the integration of its
contents in the documentation, Master Servicing Manual (MSM)
on April 7, 1992.

was approved on May 14, 1991 by the DGAC for civil version helicopters
subject to an Airworthiness Certificate.

Edition 0 was approved on April 7, 1992 by the DGAC for civil version
helicopters subject to an Airworthiness Certificate.
The technical information contained in Edition 1 of this Service Bulletin
was approved on September 5, 2001 under the authority of DGAC
Design Organisation Approval No. F.JA01 for civil version helicopters
subject to an Airworthiness Certificate.
The technical information contained in this Service Bulletin Revision 1 of
Edition 1 was approved on December 20, 2021 under the authority of
EASA Design Organization Approval No. 21J.700 for civil version helicopters
subject to an Airworthiness Certificate.
The technical information contained in this Service Bulletin Revision 1 of
Edition 1 was approved on December 20, 2021 by the Airbus Helicopters
Airworthiness Department for export military versions.
The technical information contained in this Service Bulletin Revision 1 of
Edition 1 was approved on December 20, 2021 under the prerogatives of the
recognition of design capability FRA21J-002-DGA for French Government
helicopters.

Effectivity Dynamic assemblies, all part numbers and all dash numbers: - Main rotor head - Main rotor mast - Main gearbox - Engine-to-MGB coupling - Tail rotor drive - Tail gearbox. 1.B. Reason To prevent deterioration of dynamic assemblies due to corrosion. Edition 1 of this Service Bulletin: - Deletes the time limit of "less than 1,500 flight hours in 12 years". - Prescribes compliance with this Service Bulletin for dynamic assemblies that have logged 12 operating years in standard operating conditions, then every 6 years irrespective of the number of flight hours logged, providing they have not undergone any inspection (as part of an overhaul or an on-condition maintenance task) during this period. - Prescribes compliance with this Service Bulletin for dynamic assemblies that have logged 8 operating years in salt-laden atmosphere or humid and tropical conditions, then every 4 years irrespective of the number of flight hours logged, providing they have not undergone any inspection (as part of an overhaul or an on-condition maintenance task) during this period. - Updates the layout of this Service Bulletin. - Creates the page P5 “List of effective pages”. NOTE 1: Edition 1 supersedes the original Edition 0 of Service Bulletin 05.00.22 and its Revision 1. NOTE 2: Definition of aircraft operating conditions in: - Salt-laden atmosphere: Aircraft operated in the following conditions: Aircraft based aboard ship or aircraft operated less than 1 km from the shoreline or over the sea at low altitude (below 1,000 ft) for more than 50% of their total operating time.

The technical information contained in this Service Bulletin Revision 1 of Edition 1 was approved on December 20, 2021 under the authority of EASA Design Organization Approval No. 21J.700 for civil version helicopters subject to an Airworthiness Certificate. The technical information contained in this Service Bulletin Revision 1 of Edition 1 was approved on December 20, 2021 by the Airbus Helicopters Airworthiness Department for export military versions.
