Please verify that the statement is true or false. If true or false, explain in 1or 2 paragraph.
In two or three dimensions, a saddle point is the minimum point of one axis and the maximum of
another. The graph of a saddle point reminds me of the center point of a Pringles potato chip.
In real life, saddle points are moments of extreme high and lows. We have some examples of
saddle points on maps in the contour drawings in our book. It is the point between two high
points. If you draw a figure eight around the two “mountains”, then the intersection in the middle
would be the saddle point. I know that we used saddle point, or equilibrium points in my game
theory and programming class. In creating a linear game, a saddle point is when a player has
maximized their ability to win while minimizing that of their opponent.
Thank you.
Solution
In the first statement of the paragraph, it is given that saddle points are extreme
highs and extreme lows. but saddle points are just relative highs and lows It is the point where
slope of the line turns from negative to positive or from positive to negative.... the remaining info
about it in the paragraph is true.....
