DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH VI
I. Lesson Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to
 State the usage of comparative and superlative form of adjectives.
 Use comparative and superlative form to describe things.
 Participate actively in the class discussion.

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY
Good morning class!
Good morning ma’am.
Is there any absent?
Yes/No ma’am.
Very good!
Okay before we proceed to our discussion, please
pick up all the trash inside the classroom and
arranged your chairs properly.
(students will silently do what the teacher asks)
Okay, you may now take your sits.
MOTIVATION
Class, I will group you into three (3). Each of the
group will follow my instruction. Our game will be
called “arrange yourself”. Am I clear class?
Yes ma’am.
Now, count on one to three (1-3). Go to your
respective group.
(students will go to their group)
Are you ready class?
Yes ma’am
(The teacher will now proceed to the game)
Form a line according to:
 Height
 Age
 Length of hair
 Skin color
 Size of feet
 First name
 Birth month
(students will now cooperatively working with
their group mates)
Very good class!
Give yourself a pak ganern clap
(students doing the pak ganern clap)
ANALYSIS
Based on the activity that you have done a while
ago, it is somehow related with our topic for today.
(The teacher post the topic: The Comparative and
Superlative Form of Adjectives)
Okay, can I have a reader?
(The students will read the writings on the
paper.)
(The Comparative Form of Adjective is formed
by adding –er to one syllable adjective.)
Very good!
Here are some examples.
 Long + er = longer
 More + delicious = more dellicious
Now, for the superlative form?
(The Superlative Form of Adjective is formed
by adding –est to one syllable adjective)
Ex.
 Long + est = longest
 Most + delicious = most delicious
Now, everybody please read it once more.
(all students will read the meaning)
(Adjectives are words that describe persons,
place, animals, ideas and events)

Now, for further understanding. I will give you
some examples.
Positive Comparative Superlative
High higher highest
Beautiful more beautiful most beautiful
Tall taller tallest
1. highest
2. most beautiful
3. taller
Very good class.
Now, here are some things to remember in using
comparative and superlative adjectives.
1. Do not use both more and –er or most and –
est in one word.
Not: but:
More harder harder
More better better
Most softest softest
Most colorfulest most colorful
2. The Comparative form of adjectives is
always followed by than.
ex.
 Andrew is taller than Isaac.
 Ken is more intelligent than Tina
3. The Superlative form of adjective are
always proceeded by the.
Ex.
 Mrs. Cruz is the most beautiful woman in
the party.
 My mom is the kindest person I know.
(The students will write on their notebook.
After the teacher discuss)

(the teacher will post the words)
Yes/no ma’am.
GENERALIZATION
How can we use the comparative form?
It can be used by adding –e r
Very good!
How about the Superlative Form?
Superlative form is formed by adding –est to
one syllable word.
APPLICATION
Fill in the missing form of the adjectives.
Positive Comparative Superlative

2. Wise wiser
