2. COLONOSCOPY What is a Colonoscopy? It is a test that allows your Doctor to look at the upper portion of your colon. A flexible fiberscope called a colonscope is passed through the anus, rectum, and colon. Polyps which can be cancerous are removed during this procedure.
4. LAVAGE What is Lavage? Lavage is the general term referring to cleaning or rinsing. It involves a Physician using a nasogastric (NG) tube to flush the organ.
6. ANASTOMOSIS To surgically create a connection between two organs or vessels for example, joining together two cut ends of the intestines after a section is removed.
8. BITEWING X-RAY Bitewing X-rays show the upper and lower back teeth and how the teeth touch each other in a single view. These X-rays are used to check for decay between the teeth and to show how well the upper and lower teeth line up. They also show bone loss when severe gum disease or a dental infection is present.
