1. Agni Foundation’s Project Identity #1 at SISTWA Chennai
Agni Foundation’s Project Identity’s reach out started at SISTWA Chennai, November 22nd 2014.
Where quietude unwinds, there our digital revolution begun.
A quaint place where the bustle of Chennai City muted is where the young inhabitants of SISTWA sets
dreams their aspirations in motion. Agni Foundation’s Project Identity’s first reach out started at
SISTWA. The digital identity created in the form of the website will create awareness of SISTWA to the
outer world. Though today’s technology has shrunken the globe into an electronic gadget, it is not
dynamic. Technology can’t identify the needy and creates a visibility by itself. It is we, who need to
create an online avenue for the needy to those who can’t afford to have a website for their own.
During the interaction with SISTWA founder Mr. Raghupathy, he shared his experience on reaching out
to the NGOs to share a day with kids, sponsor meals or a Kid’s education. Normally the NGO close to
one’s vicinity has always been a natural choice. So identifying the deserving and the unknown NGOs like
SISTWA is quiet an impossible task. In order to make an NGO known to everyone anytime from
2. anywhere, It is the website that will provide the much needed identity. A potential donor will get to
know about an NGO through the actual videos and photos upload in their website. So a donor will give a
leash to the philanthropist within without any inhibitions.
Mr. Raghupathy said when he started the NGO in 1961, he started without any grants and aid and still
he’s managing to the run this institution for the kids Nomads and Destitute with the same grit. He said
when the youngsters of whole world unilaterally run after the money in young age, he actually quit a
secure Government job in starting this NGO some five decades back, he was a relentless crusader for
over half century in fighting against all odds in placing and retaining bigger smiles on the faces of the
inhabiting kids in his NGO.
Handing over the website to the SISTWA the Chief Guest Mrs. Rohini, the Principal of TJV Higher Sec.
School in address told she was not aware of this SISTWA though she is regularly commuting on Mount
Road for so many years. She wholeheartedly praised The Agni Foundationthe of this digital identity
project that places every NGOnline. In her address she recollected 50 years ago one man extended his
helping hands to children of Nomads today thousands of nomads life was changed and today another
youth is extending a digital arm for the NGOs that creates ultimate visibility of the NGO across the
boundaries, the forth coming years will have a great digital revolution to mull upon and today is the day
that heralds that new dawn and she is happy to be the Chief guest for the great moment in history.
The student interns of Agni College of Technology deserve a special mention for their efforts in the
designing of the free website for the NGO and Agni Foundation is indebted to Agni College of
Technology for allowing students to engage in the pursuit of placing every NGOnline.
The highlights of the Project Identity 1 at SISTWA are the heroes of the institutions. The Kids shocked
the Chief Guest, other guests and the volunteers, with their sheer innocence and positive outlook
towards the life.
After the meetings and greetings we conducted a drawing competition. We wanted to know how kids
with just a hope for a better tomorrow perceived living a life with less access to the lifestyle amenities.
We hoped that they will express themselves on chart with crayons and colors.
You wouldn’t believe those talented kids of the populous society, rather than expressing their sorry
state and their life depending on the generosity of people, they showed a completely different character
on the chart paper - A character of young ones with broader perspective.
They were aware of the need of a green earth, saving earth resources. Some expressed the necessity to
save water and conserving electricity.
One of the kids drew a graffiti depicting universal brotherhood bearing message: "we should stay united,
never fight with each other for anything".
3. Another child expressed her views on the stigma of discrimination towards diseased people. Many
children stressed on the need to treat all of them as equals and urged we need to help one another on
times of need, which were quiet a shocker to us all.
We are sure the grassroots of today are sure to outgrow into banyan trees and their knowledge base
serves as the strong pillars of India. Our project identity and their pursuit of excellence complement
each other as the future of the nation can only get better.
A worthy mention among the young kids of SISTWA would be the boy who set his sight on Mars on mass
displacement of humans to save the humanity.
Interstellar vision in Babu, the 12 yr old unknown crusader with ambitious plans to save the world is
whom we had spotted, we are sure there would more Babus who have a spark, and we have to fan that
knowledge spark into a Flame.
