Softwood, impregnated
Spruce and pine impregnated softwood gets its
greenish colour from its treatment with metal
salts dissolved in water. It protects the wood
against fungal decay and insects. The impregnaI
tion does not provide any UV protection and
thus will not stop the surface from greying. The impregnation process means that the wood has a higher moisture content. When the
wood then dries, this can lead to resin bleeds, cracking or twisting,
but this is not structurally disadvantageous. Rather, it reflects the
naturalness of the materials used.

Glulam, untreated
Glulam is several layers (laminations) of glued
together dimensional timber.
The individual pieces of spruce wood are dried,
LH scanned for faults, sorted and finger jointed to
provide continuous laminations. Several individual laminations are then glued together with weather resistant
adhesives to form a single structural piece.
This is how a single and strong timber product is created which
compared to naturally grown wood, has a higher load capacity and
a lower tendency to crack or twist.
Fir wood used outdoors must be treated against mould decay and
insect attacks.

Softwood, untreated
Softwood, untreated, (KVH) solid construction timber
Here we use kiln-dried, continuous glued solid
spruce wood. The individual pieces of wood are
N + dried, scanned for faults, sorted and then made
KVH weatherproof by gluing finger joints continuously
together. Cracks, knots and slight twisting reflect
the character of the materials used.
Only specially certified companies can produce solid construction
timber (KVH). Fir wood used outdoors must be treated against
mould decay and insect attacks.

Wood type: Douglas fir
The resins and oils in the heartwood of the
Douglas fir make it more resistant to insect and
fungal attack. We only use kiln-dried Douglas fir
D that is partly finger-jointed lengthwise. This type
of wood has a high surface hardness. Cracks,
knots and slight twisting reflect the character of the high quality
materials used.
If Douglas fir is not varnished, it will develop a grey silver surface
over time. This patina protects your construction from the elements
and eliminates the need for expensive wood care. You can also
preserve the natural surface texture.

Don‘t forget that wood is a natural product. Resin, knots and splits
are normal in wood. All sizes and colours stated in this catalogue
may vary slightly.

In principle, untreated fir wood used outdoors
must be treated against fungal decay and insect
attacks. Protect your construction kit with a high
quality wood preservative. Make sure that it has
good UV protection and follow the instructions
from the stain manufacturer. Our optional selectable colour treatment in the factory does not replace the final coat of paint.

Roofing:
Roof decking:
The roofing consists of roof boards made from
solid wood. Roofing made from roof boards also
requires a weather-proofing layer. Due to the
relatively high total weight of this roof covering,
there will be very little noise during precipitation.
Roofing felt:
A layer of roofing felt can provide short-term
weather protection as the first layer of the
roofing. In the long term, however, depending
on the roof type (flat, gabled or pitched) you
will always need a second layer of roofing.
Bituminous sheeting or EPDM rubber roofing:
Kits that come with a flat roof and all houses in the »Trend« series,
must all be fitted with a layer of bituminous sheeting or EPDM
rubber. The roof area is specified in the catalogue. Your local
dealer can help you with the sheeting or rubber selection.
Roof shingles:
Roof shingles are an add-on option for gabled
or pitched roofs. These can be laid directly on
the roof boards or roof felt of the construction kit
and provide the house with long-term protection
against the elements. Please refer to the information in the catalogue for your roof shingle requirements.
Roof tiles:
All those kits listed with a tile symbol have
a tiled roof option. For roof tiles (to meet
individual requirements), the spacing of the
battens is set according to the roof tile manufacturer specifications. The roof battens option
only applies to houses in the 45 plus and 70 plus series as well
as gable roof carports.
Roof insulation:
Roof insulation is an option for houses in the
45 plus and 70 plus series. By adding another
counter batten (60 mm for 45 plus 20 mm
/1
for 70 plus) and opting for the second roof layer
(roof boards for shingles and roof battens for tiles), there is space
for insulation (insulation and accessories according to individual
requirements).
PVC:
Light grey roof panels (anthracite underneath)
or milky (transparent) with a trapezoidal profile.
Cheap, easy and quick to install.
Break-proof and hail-resistant condition. High
noise levels during precipitation. Condensation
may form during temperature fluctuations. Stable shape up to 80°C
(light grey panels) or 60°C (milky panels) in surface temperature.
Aluminium:
Roof panels with trapezoidal profile in two
model-specific versions: Alu-blank (untreated)
or alu-anthracite (colour coated with a light
grey underside). Shatterproof and hail-resistant.
Very high noise levels during precipitation.
Condensation may form during temperature fluctuations. High
shape stability with high surface temperatures.
Twin wall sheeting:
Hollow polycarbonate wall sheets in 10 mm or
16 mm thickness depending on the model. Clear
design (or bronze on request, 16 mm sheets can
also be requested in Opal) with a UV-resistant
top layer. When mounted correctly, hail-resistant
up to 20 mm particle size (manufacturer information).

Roofing
Roof thickness: 19 mm / 28 mm profiled wood
Roofing felt: A layer of roofing felt is included
with the log cabins. An additional roof layer with
a suitable material is necessary. We recommend
using shingles as the additional roof layer for
houses with pitched roofs and bitumen sheeting
for houses in the »Trend« series.
Roof shingles: Roof shingles can also be ordered
as an option. These can be put directly on the roof
boards of the cabin and provide the cabin with
long-term protection against the elements.
Roof tiles: Tile covering is possible for cabins with
this symbol. When covering with roof tiles (from a
dealer), the distances of the roof battens depend
on the specifications of the roof tile manufacturer.
Arosa + Davos: Please purchase additional roof
battens. 45 plus + 70 plus: Cabin with roof battens
for tiling in the product range.

For years of enjoyment in your cabin:
Wooden parts are untreated when delivered with the exception of the bearers. The untreated parts must be cared for as follows:
1. One waterproof coat on all sides (protection against fungal
decay / insects, reduction in moisture absorption on the surface)
2. At least one coat of thin layer varnish on all sides (wood surface
protection against damage from UV light, applicable dye carrier)

3. After assembling the cabin, at least one coat of thin
layer varnish on all visible surfaces (surface protection
against mechanical demands)
For more information, enquire at your DIY store! Ask your paint/
varnish manufacturer how often the wood should be repainted.

The strength of the posts also supports the
sturdy construction and fitting of the gazebos.
Mounting brackets
Mounting brackets from galvanised flat steel for
bolting on the foundation are prepared on site.
They ensure a secure connection between the
gazebo and ground.
Roofing
First set out the prefabricated single components and connect them together.
Roof shingles can beordered for gazebos with a
pitched roof as an optional extra. These can be
laid directly on the roof boards and offer long-term
protection against the elements.
Snow load
The indicated snow load has been statistically
calculated. Please consult your local authority
for the snow load required in your area.

Type of wood: KVH (solid construction timber), untreated
KVH
KVH is a kiln-dried, qualitatively defined solid
wood. The pieces of wood are scanned, sorted
and finally continously glued with finger-jointing.

The heartwood of the Douglas fir is resistant to
insects and fungal attack. We only use kiln-dried

Post thickness

The strength of the posts also supports the sturdy
construction and fitting of the terrace roof.
Mounting brackets
Mounting brackets from galvanised flat steel for
bolting on the foundation are prepared on site.
They ensure a secure connection between the
terrace and ground.
Post anchors
Post anchors for setting in concrete ensure a long product life and high level of stability. If these are included
in the construction kit, we will pre-deliver them alongside the foundation plan, if you wish and free of charge.
Floor
WPC flooring may be ordered as an optional extra
for terrace roofs.

Snow load
The indicated snow load has been statistically
calculated. Please consult your local authority
for the snow load required in your area.

The heartwood of the Douglas fir is resistant to
insects and fungal attack. We only use kiln-dried

together dimensional timber. Further information

Wood type: Softwood, impregnated

Treated softwood gets its greenish colour from its
treatment with metal salts dissolved in water. It
protects the wood against fungal decay and insects.

The mounting brackets are aligned and
screwed on according to the foundation plan.
The posts are aligned and connected with mounting brackets. The purlins are screwed firmly to the
posts. Afterwards the braces are fixed to the posts and purlins.

The rear purlin for wall attachment is aligned and firmly
mounted with the aid of dowels (not included).
The underlay sheet is fixed to the rafters with roof nails. The twin wall sheets are prepared for assembly and laid on the roof. The roof sheets are attached
by screwing on aluminium cover profiles. Finished!
The rafters are installed according to the instruction manual and are secured with
screws. The roof construction is complete when the roof battens are put in place.

Our tip: Assembly material (without concrete) and assembly instructions are
included in the delivery. Dowels for wall mounting and sealants are not included
in the construction kit. These depend on the properties of your house wall. Please
