1. 1 Peter 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given
us new birth into a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
and into an inheritance that can never
perish, spoil, or fade—kept in heaven for
you, who through faith are shielded by God’s
power until the coming salvation that is
ready to be revealed in the last time.

2. 1 Peter 1:6-7
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a
little while you may have had to suffer grief
in all kinds of trials. These have come so
that your faith—of greater worth than gold,
which perishes even though refined by
fire—may be proved genuine and may
result in praise, glory, and honor when
Jesus Christ is revealed.

3. 1 Peter 1:8-9
Though you have not seen Him, you love
Him; and even though you do not see Him
now, you believe in Him are filled with an
inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are
receiving the goal of your faith, the
salvation of your souls.

4. 1 Peter 1:10-11
Concerning this salvation, the prophets,
who spoke of the grace that was to come to
you, searched intently and with the
greatest care, trying to find out the time
and circumstances to which the Spirit of
Christ in them was pointing when He
predicted the sufferings of Christ and the
glories that would follow.

5. 1 Peter 1:12
It was revealed to them that they were not
serving themselves but you, when they
spoke of the things that have now been
told you by those who have preached the
gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from
heaven. Even angels long to look into these
things.

6. The women went to the
tomb out of the AFFECTION
of their HEARTS
Choices are not made strictly from the
MIND, but also out of the HEART
Biblical faith in a way is a MARRIAGE of the
mind and the heart; the truth we believe
and the One we trust.
7. Peter begins his praise not
merely with a BELIEF to hold,
but highlighting great MERCY
received.
God has given us more than we could have
hoped for, a new BIRTH leading to a new
way of LIVING.
He left the TOMB and now FILLS my heart.
8. There is a war for the
affection of our hearts
between what we can see
with our EYES and what it
takes the eyes of FAITH to see
Affection for the risen Lord leads us to
PERSEVERE with Him through trials.
Our LOVE for Him motivates us to LIVE for
Him.
9. The prophets made careful search and
inquiry about the grace to COME, how much
more should we make careful search and
inquiry to realize all that has been DONE for
us in Christ.
