2. Negation is the presence of a negative
sense in a clause (Trask 1993).
The sense is a grammatical element
which reverses the truth value of
preposition.
Spears (1991) describes three types of
negation: negative pronoun, negative
adverb, and negative article.

whose antecedent is expressed as negative or
non-existent.
