Introduction The Junior Enterprise Movement is filled with great practices and success stories. The Excellence Awards is a great opportunity for Junior Entrepreneurs and Junior Enterprises to be recognized at international level.    The registration for applications for the Excellence Awards 2010 is now open! Until 25th of January you have the opportunity to prove that you and your team deserve to be awarded in front of JADE members and partners during the JADE Spring Meeting 2010 that will take place in Brussels, the capital of Europe, from 4th to 7th March 2010. This year, the Excellence Awards will honour the best practices in the following categories: I- Most International Junior Enterprise II- Most Creative and Innovative Project III- Best CSR Practice IV- Most Engaged Junior Entrepreneur        2. Categories     2.1 Most International Junior Enterprise Nowadays, every business understands the benefits of globalization. Getting connected at international level and acquiring international experience are ideal for Junior Enterprises and Junior Entrepreneurs to be prepared to face the realities of the business world. In this category JADE aims to acknowledge the Junior Enterprise that adopted and developed the best international orientation during the last year. Whether your Junior Enterprise managed to: attract international projects, develop fruitful international partnerships, build a strong internal international team, organize relevant international events, or create another Junior Enterprise abroad, then this award is for you ! Junior Enterprises can apply for this award with as many projects as they see fit in the application. This award depends on how you present the international activities and outcomes of your Junior Enterprise during the past year. Please note that the focus here lies on internationalization, not on your Junior Enterprise in general. Focus your application on presenting the diversity of cultures in your team, the cooperation with Junior Enterprises from other countries and the quantity and quality of international projects (benchmarking, knowledge sharing, subcontracting etc.). Your attendance at JADE international events, partnerships with JADE European partners, and involvement and integration with the Network will add importance to your achievements. As an example: The Excellence Award 2008 in this category went to the French Junior Enterprise Marketing Méditerranée, for their outstanding achievements in terms of developing an international network, acquiring projects and supporting the creation of JEs abroad. 2.2 Most Creative and Innovative Project 2009 is the year of Creativity and Innovation in the European Union. This award category aims at acknowledging the project team which conducted the most creative and innovative project, whether it is a new service or product that has sensibly helped your client or a procedure that will revolutionise your work and the work of others in the industry.   The success of applications mostly depends on how you present your project, its concrete results and the reasons you provide to prove how innovative your project really is.   Focus your application on: presenting the creative elements of the project, showing how was the new approach different compared to the processes and methods used by the Junior Enterprise before, how and if this projects enriched your service portfolio, and think if the project was a result of an active or reactive business acquisition. Present the project through the perspective of its impact, idea and quality of execution without forgetting to be very creative with your application.      As an example: The Excellence Award 2006 in the category at that time named “Most innovative Project” was given to JE CCT Berlin, Germany, for the project “MeinProf.de” – a new and unique way of evaluating university courses and teachers.         2.3 Best CSR Practice Fostering youth entrepreneurship is the main idea behind JEs, but it is of great importance to develop value driven entrepreneurship and develop positive effects on one’s external sociao-economic environment. Because CSR practices become day after day more and more important for the business world, JADE aims to acknowledge the Junior Enterprise that was most engaged in assuring that its development provides benefits to its environment, whether in social or environmental terms.  Junior Enterprises can apply for this award with as many projects as they see fit in the application. This award depends on how you present the positive impact you had on your socio-economic surrounding and concrete outcomes of your Junior Enterprise in this matter.    As an example: Introduced only last year, the CSR Excellence Award 2009 found its winner in the face of ConQuest Consulting from Poland for the project “Entrepreneurships for Jobless Women”. The CQC Team managed to support over 100 unemployed women in turning their entrepreneurial strive into business by writing business plans and giving basic business trainings.       2.4 Most Engaged Junior Entrepreneur In this category JADE aims to acknowledge the Junior Enterpreneur that, through actions and commitment, helped the development of our Network, alongside the promotion of youth entrepreneurship and practical education. If you supported the development of your Confederation, the development of JADE, set up new JEs and/or projects, then this award might be for you.   As an example: The 2008 award for this category was given to Themis Papadimopoulos for his continuous support of the JADE concept in Greece for three years as he expanded the JADE network.     3. General Conditions 3.1 Application deadline: 25th January 2010, 20:00 CET (Brussels time).   Complete applications should be sent to: mail@jadenet.org Questions are addressed to: Ms Adelina Peltea, Secretary General, adelina.peltea@jadenet.org 3.2 All applications must include: - A cover letter stating why the applicant believes that deserves to be awarded (1 page) - A short executive summary of the application (1 page) - The full presentation (max 5 pages/ 10 slides of content) Optional attachments to the application: - Relevant documentation, references from clients/professors and personal statements to enable the judges to make an informed and fair decision   - Proofs of the presented projects The applications must be submitted in English via email or post. Evaluation and Decision-making The evaluation procedure consists of two steps: Confederations and Consultative Members will evaluate all applications and select the 3 best applications per category of the Excellence Awards. Decisions will be based on an evaluation list provided by the JADE Executive Board The selected applicants will present their application at the JADE Spring Meeting 2010. Then, a jury exclusively composed of professionals from the EU institutions, civil society and the business world will evaluate the 3 selected applications per category of the Excellence Awards and will decide on the winners, based on the presentation and the score of the candidature folder The winners will be awarded during the Gala Dinner of the JADE Spring Meeting 2010.   5.
