DepartmentofPoliticalScience-AFGCW
 Department of Political Science students have been
visited four Grama Panchyat Offices along with their
teachers on different dates in Gowribidanur Taluk,
Chikkaballapur Dist. Karnataka State. We discussed
about the power and functions of Gramapanchayat.
Asked some questions relating to powers of the
president and how he is discharging his duties and
responsibilities in the panchayat. How much grants
allotted by the state and central Govt. how that amount
has to be spent in various purposes.
REPORT ON GRAMAPANCHAYAT
DepartmentofPoliticalScience-AFGCW
 Whether the concerned secretary is maintained the records
properly or not according to the guidelines of the Govt.
everything we observed and noted the names of some important
records to create awareness in the minds of the students. The
secretary, president, vice president and some members of the
Panchayat has been attended and discussed a lot the students
asked some questions regarding the functions of the Grama
Panchayat. And we advised the president and vice president to
attend the various meetings and trainings conducted by the
different departments in connections with the rural development
projects may be implemented in their respective villages.
REPORT ON GRAMAPANCHAYAT ….
DepartmentofPoliticalScience-AFGCW
 When we have visited 4 Grama Panchayat offices, most of the
presidents of the Grama Panchayat are illiterates and ignorance.
They did not have a minimum qualification and also lack of
awareness about the role of president. If they are illiterate, most
of the secretaries in the Grama Panchayat are going to mis-guide
the president and overtake some powers.
 The students of our college were happy to attend the Grama
Panchayat to Know the practical experience and exchange their
ideas, views and knowledge. In the meanwhile it creates
awareness in the minds of our students while they are attending
the Grama Panchayat.
