• Undertake the coordination and
implementation of WAAPP Ghana broad
objectives of the communication strategy and
action plan
Broad Objectives of Communication
Strategy and Action Plan
• Accelerate adoption of improved technologies through
behaviour change communication.
• Enhancing the reputation of WAAPP, CORAF and
Country Teams as providers of quality information and
technologies regarding Agricultural Research and
Development.
• Develop Regional Cooperation.
• Achieve sustainable capacity of CORAF and WAAPP
countries to deliver complex communication
assignments.
Specific Objectives of GCTC
• To identify available technologies for
dissemination and adoption along agricultural
value chain.
• To identify potential communication channels for
agricultural technology dissemination.
• To design appropriate media activities to
disseminate technologies.
• To make WAAPP Ghana visible nationally and
regionally.
Composition/Membership of GCTC
• National Project Coordinator (Chairperson)
• WAAPP Communication Officer
• Representative (Focal Person) – DAES
• Communication Officer, NCOS
• Training Officer, NCOS
• Website Manager
• Media Representative (Private Media)
Functions/Activities
• Organize TV, Radio (Community
Radio), Sensitization and Awareness Creation
Programmes.
• Organize newspaper articles (commissioned).
• Develop farmers handbooks, production
guides, fact sheets etc.
• Produce bulletins, website articles, souvenirs
like T-Shirts, caps etc.
Challenges
• Lukewarm attitude of stakeholders to
contribute articles for bulletin/publication.
• Inability of Committee to fulfill its meeting
schedules.
Lessons Learnt
An active, vibrant and committed
communication committee can guarantee an
effect implementation of communication
strategy/plan

Broad Objectives of Communication Strategy and Action Plan • Accelerate adoption of improved technologies through behaviour change communication. • Enhancing the reputation of WAAPP, CORAF and Country Teams as providers of quality information and technologies regarding Agricultural Research and Development. • Develop Regional Cooperation. • Achieve sustainable capacity of CORAF and WAAPP countries to deliver complex communication assignments.

Specific Objectives of GCTC • To identify available technologies for dissemination and adoption along agricultural value chain. • To identify potential communication channels for agricultural technology dissemination. • To design appropriate media activities to disseminate technologies. • To make WAAPP Ghana visible nationally and regionally.
  • 7. Composition/Membership of GCTC • National Project Coordinator (Chairperson) • WAAPP Communication Officer • Representative (Focal Person) – DAES • Communication Officer, NCOS • Training Officer, NCOS • Website Manager • Media Representative (Private Media)

Functions/Activities • Organize TV, Radio (Community Radio), Sensitization and Awareness Creation Programmes. • Organize newspaper articles (commissioned). • Develop farmers handbooks, production guides, fact sheets etc. • Produce bulletins, website articles, souvenirs like T-Shirts, caps etc.
  • 9. Challenges • Lukewarm attitude of stakeholders to contribute articles for bulletin/publication. • Inability of Committee to fulfill its meeting schedules.
  • 10. Lessons Learnt An active, vibrant and committed communication committee can guarantee an effect implementation of communication strategy/plan
