2. Clothing
All five members of the band are dressed in ways that suit their own
body image and compliment the bands image. Each member is
dressed similarly for every public appearance they have together to
ensure the continuity of their image.
In all three photos, each band member are wearing similar colours and
the same style of clothing.
3. Logo
On every album, advert, CD, social networking site and piece
of merchandise The Saturdays use the same logo of their
name. This ensures the name of the band is known
everywhere and not confused for something else (eg, the day
of the week). The logo stands out and allows a brand image to
be built around the brand.
4. Albums
All albums and singles that The Saturdays have released
all have similar artwork of the band standing/sitting
together in similar outfits. The same logo is used to
advertise the band name with differing fonts for the
album/single title.
The artwork and colours portray the band as young, play-ful and
energetic
5. Link to music
The colouring and artwork on all album covers,
merchandise, adverts and clothing portray the band in a
particular way. The five colours that are individually
linked with each band member not only adds personality
to each member but collectively makes them look like a
band. The Saturdays are known for producing music of
the pop genre. This genre includes fun, up beat and
exciting music which attracts a young, fun and lively
audience. The bright colours represent a fun and lively
side to the band, therefore linking them to the pop genre.
6. Dyer
‘A star us an image, not a real person that is constructed
out of a range of materials.’
By this, Dyer means The Saturdays have been
constructed specifically for a purpose and what we see
as their personalities is not real. In other words,
bands/artists are a social construction and answer to
their fans needs.
