To back up your email, open the Import and Export wizard in Outlook and select to export to a file. Choose to export an Outlook data file (.pst) and select a location and name for the backup file. If desired for security, a password can be added. Backing up twice may be needed - once for email data and again for any online archives. Backed up email can still be accessed normally through Outlook like other messages by forwarding, replying or searching.
