PDHPE is a subject that outlines the areas of “physical, social,
cognitive and emotional growth development” (PDHPE, p.7)
• It boosts the:
• Valuing and understanding of yourself and others
• Physical Activity
• Educated decision making
These aspects support the development and maintenance of
interpersonal relationships, it leads students into healthy
eating choices, teaches students approaches to protect
themselves, assist in an active lifestyle, help them develop
fundamental movement skills and allow students to achieve
skills that will assist them in decision making situations.

it:
• Encourages and promotes physical activity
Did you know people should be acquiring at least 40 minutes
of moderate physical activity per day? And it’s important that
children should acquire of at least 20 minutes of intense
activity at least 3 times per week! Regular physical activity is
essential for the development and maintenance of optimum
health.
