This document provides information about Pakathon, a global non-profit organization that engages the Pakistani diaspora and supports professionals returning to Pakistan. It discusses how Pakathon was founded to help expatriates who want to make a positive impact in Pakistan through entrepreneurship. Pakathon hosts workshops and hackathons around the world to connect participants with opportunities and investors. It also outlines how corporations can support Pakathon's mission through sponsorships and in-kind donations to help Pakathon continue hosting impactful events.
2. Around 36,000 professionals, including
doctors, engineers and teachers, have
migrated to other countries from Pakistan
over the past 30 years (~$2 billion annual
net loss).
Instead of stopping people from finding
better opportunities abroad, we must focus
on and help those who want to move back
and make a difference in their country of
origin.
Our research shows that expats have a
strong desire to move back to do impactful
work but require engagement and support.

3. THEPAKATHONSTORY
Pakathon is the brainchild of Asad Badruddin
and Zheela Qaiser. The pair wanted to help
make a real positive impact in Pakistan and
wondered if there was a way to do so aside
from just donating money. They concluded that
the Pakistani diaspora must also feel this way.
This is why they created Pakathon, they
dreamed of a global nervous system around the
world that could helps Pakistani?s deepen their
relationship to Pakistan, and exposes them to
different cultures and prespectives. From its
humble beginnings in a cafe in Boston, the
organization has grown leaps and bounds. Asad
and Zheela were right about their assumption
as hundreds of volunteers from around the
world have taken the Pakathon mission to their
local cities.
