real progress while minimizing waste. It is more about speed
than cost.

Lean Startup is a higher level methodology that consists of
many aspects other than software development, such as
customer development, measurement, ideation, design
thinking etc.

MPV is one of the core concepts in Lean Startup, but is just a
part of process to get the right feedback. MVP is not the
entire methodology.

5. So, What is Lean Startup, Then?
• It is based on the thinking that startup success can be engineered by
following the right process. The success doesn’t need to rely on a genius
founder or mere luck. It can be learned, taught and managed.
• It is a loosely formed WIP methodology for helping entrepreneurs increase
their odds of building a successful startup. Advocated primarily by Eric
Ries and practiced by many startups , individuals and companies. It
consists of various sub-methodologies , methods and techniques.
• Idea and term derived from Lean Manufacturing. It is focused on executing
the right things towards success under conditions of extreme uncertainty
by applying lean thinking to the process of innovation.
• It doesn’t have to be “startup” in conventional sense. Size, industry, and
sector do not matter. It can be applied to a big corporation as long as they
are making a new product or business under conditions of extreme
uncertainty.
