5. The definition Moseley's law is an empirical law of the characteristic x-rays emitted by the atom. It is historically important in quantitatively justifying the conception of the nuclear model of the atom, with all or nearly all positive charges of the atom located in the nucleus, and associated on an integer basis with atomic number .

6. Until Moseley's work, "atomic number" was merely an element's place in the periodic table, and was not known to be associated with any measureable physical quantity. Atomic Number

7. Moseley’s Law This suggested that there is a gradual increase of 'something' as we move higher her up in the periodic table.. This number is none other than the number of protons, what we call today as the 'atomic number'. So, elements were arranged thereafter not based on the atomic weight but based on the atomic number.
